I'm not sure if the pickup location for the dessert changes every order, but I didn't know exactly where the pickup would be in Elk Grove. Once my order was confirmed, the address was provided and it was a bit further out than where my party was planning to be. I asked if delivery was an option and luckily they had someone available for the service so I am grateful for that because it saved me about an hour of pickup and dropoff. Looks like somehow I was the only one with a horrific experience. Posting this for awareness and hopefully no one else has to go through this on their special day. Booked spilled milk last October for our wedding reception. 4 tiers, 2 tiers of the lemon with raspberry and the. 2 tiers vanilla bean with the mango. The entire thing was frozen and inedible. We could barely even cut it when it came for cake cutting. We wanted something memorable, where we could take home the top tier and have 3 tiers for all the guests instead we got a display and that's about it. What was even worse when I told them about it they tried to make excuses and send $400. I had to send pictures and even had a video of the staff saying how horrible the cake was at that it hurt their hands even trying to cut and the cake fell apart as they were trying. And then the company took responsibility and sent 75% back saying we had something to take pictures with. Mistakes happen the way you take care of your mistake displays the true empathy behind a company especially when you're marketing such significant events. Distance was Sacramento to Manteca. I've had the pleasure of working with Christina at Spilled Milk twice now. The first order was for my sons first bday cake, and the second was for my cousins wedding that I helped with. We did a tasting with the intention that if we enjoyed the cake enough, we would use their services for both. It was delicious!! Cake tasting order process was super easy. We tried a number of flavors and honestly they were all great... but that chocolate hazelnut had my heart from the beginning. With both orders, Christina was very communicative, timely, and helpful. For my sons cake some of the decoration didn't work out so she gave us a small refund. I know for the wedding cake Christina had a huge time crunch due to being short staffed but... Christina made it work! She is awesome and made sure her clients are happy. Besides being absolutely stunning, her cakes and seriously delicious. Often, tiered cakes can be dry but we ate that leftover chocolate cake for a week after the birthday party and enjoyed it very much and it never dried out.
