This is the perfect dance store: Excellent selection, wonderful and knowledgeable owner, outstanding customer service. I visited for the first time to buy a pair of tap shoes and am so grateful to Jennifer for her careful attention to the fit and feel of the shoes. She explained the different options and how they would perform. I ended up buying shoes that were in stock, but she was also happy to order other shoes in my size for me to try. I've done pointe shoe fittings at most of the dance stores in LA and at the Repetto store in Paris, and Jennifer is by far the most talented pointe shoe fitter that I've worked with. She knows so much about human anatomy and has an uncanny ability to immediately spot the issue with difficult feet, and when it comes to pointe work, I have very very difficult feet. I can't believe we have access to such a talented fitter right here in LA- she should have her own youtube channel. I can't recommend her highly enough. read more

I dropped by on the recommendation of my dance teacher in search of a new pair of canvas ballet flats. Despite having ones I like, I'm constantly wearing holes into them, so I felt they weren't fitting me well. The owner was incredibly kind and helped me find a better-fitting pair, even recommending a different brand based on my anatomy. I also found some great warm-ups that are hard to come by online. My 3 year old tested for ballet the other day and we rushed to get her outfits and shoes. I'm not a dance mom (yet) and called here to ask what I might need. They were great over the phone and told me what they would have for her and invited us to come see and try on. I came in that evening and was greeted and tended to. No snobby vibes. I asked a million questions about outfits and took my time deciding on what looked best on my daughter. They never rushed us. They were so attentive and helpful. Had the most adorable selection of outfits. As a first time shopper at a boutique like this, I thought they were wonderful in providing information on all the basics I needed to know about functionality of the garments and best fits. My daughter is on a dance team, so we have been here before to get her jazz shoes and the service we received then was great. They got her what she needed and made sure they fit well. Well, my lovely daughter lets me know (last minute) that she is in need of black jazz shoes for a competition that is this weekend in Vegas. I called the store this morning and Jennifer texted me back asking me what I needed. All morning she has been helping me and will continue to help me until she can get me my daughter's shoes in her size. I feel that the service and communication I have gotten from her today has been exceptional! The owner is so kind and welcoming, and very knowledgeable about the local dance studios and conscientious about making sure you're getting the right thing for your child. She's meticulous about sizing, and makes sure you won't go home with the wrong thing or something they'll outgrow in a week. My three year old son is an enthusiastic dancer, so I love that boys are quite welcome and that they stock plenty of shoes and some apparel for him, too. I'm glad to have a place he's happy to go to and that's a local small business instead of just buying online and not being sure of fit. Everything she stocks appears to be of high quality too. Jennifer (the owner) at Priscilla's is the BEST! It was my daughter's first time getting pointe shoes and Jennifer meticulously found the right pair for her. Not only is she patient, knowledgeable and friendly, but she is also certified in pointe shoe fitting/safety, and dedicated to making sure your child has the right shoe to minimize injury and maximize comfortability. We must've gone through a dozen pairs trying to find the right pointe shoe that would fit my daughter correctly and give her the confidence she needs. Her dance teacher said she looked beautiful on pointe and that the shoes fit perfectly! Priscilla's is cozy, inviting and beautiful, and every dollar paid was a dollar well-spent! I started dance as an adult and didn't start pointe until March. Not being familiar with any-thing ballet (this was just a hobby until it suddenly became serious... Haha), I knew nothing about pointe shoes. Bought my first pair of shoes from another store and didn't think I had broken them in (figure-skater term, possibly. The shoes were essentially dead and gone, as my teacher has mentioned a few weeks in a row) when I went to see Jenn to purchase new elastics for the old pair of shoes. Prior to going, I called the shop from work on a Friday and she said she might not be there when I arrived after work, but that she would leave her number so I could text her upon my arrival and she would return to assist me. Mind you, this was only for a less than $10.00 purchase. Sure enough, I texted her before leaving from my house (had to pick up my shoes) and she drove back to her shop and opened the doors again. At this point, she asked that I put on my old shoes and advised new elastics wouldn't really be helpful with the sinking or the fact that the shoes were bending in half, so I made an appointment for that Sunday and she arrived an hour earlier than she had planned to assist me with purchasing a new pair of shoes prior to going to my class. She and Izzy (her awesome assistant at the store) brought out so many different shoes and helped me understand what to feel for when purchasing new pairs of pointes. They also helped me understand why I was in the wrong pair of shoes for my feet, and fitted me into ones that slip on like gloves. Even though I felt more stable in my old shoes with a very strong shank, the tops of my feet were always bruised; she switched me to a more tapered, medium-shank model that actually keep my arches in and don't kill my feet. After purchasing the shoes, Jenn sent a long, detailed E-mail about how to properly care for them, and how to sew every-thing so my arches would be supported and the heel wouldn't keep popping off, then inevitably came to my rescue when I drove back to her shop in a panic as I didn't sew any of it correctly. LoL. Poor Izzy and Jenn spent another half-hour explaining how to sew the elastics and ribbons properly. Oh ! To add icing to the cake, when I went back begging for help with re-sewing my shoes, I over-heard her telling another customer she would give them a ride home as they lived far and had taken public transport just to get to her store...and, sure enough, she left after helping me and took this person home. There are not too many people who care that much about customers, so it definitely demonstrated what a caring and helpful person she is, and spoke volumes about her character. read more

If you have specific needs for a show or performance, she will special order anything, and it is always there within 2 or 3 days. Both of my daughters are competitive dancers, and Jennifer knows exactly how to fit their shoes perfectly! I only shop at Priscilla's for all our dance needs. I have been taking my daughter to this shop ever since it opened. The owner is super nice and helpful, never pushy, and always with patience in fitting my girl. The prices are reasonable. You sure can buy cheaper items on Amazon but sometimes we found the sizes not fitting right or the quality is poor. Highly recommend for dances in the neighborhood. read more

I called looking for a specific item. They did not have any in the store but she let me know that they had an order coming soon. Valuable info so I left the call happily with the intention to call back the next day to see if the order had come. A few minutes later the lady called me back to ask me if she could hold one for me when they came in. Being that Halloween is right around the corner she wanted to make sure to set one aside. I was just so impressed with her thoughtful customer service and kindness. It was such a nice experience and I haven't even set foot in the place! You can tell they really value their customers. I wish I could give more than 5 stars to this darling place. It's important to support your local community places right?! I love this store! My daughter takes three dance classes. I found her jazz shoes in her size after going to two other stores even further away. When she grows out of her tap shoes this is where I'll come. I got her shorts also which are sometimes hard to find because my daughter likes to wear them snug across her belly and tight in the legs. They had them! Jennifer the owner was as sweet and helpful as can be. She's named this sweet store after her dancing daughter. Love that!!! They also had the most gorgeous dance outfits for ballet/tap. My daughter likes to just wear those around the house. They even have options in many sizes for when the weather gets colder. Surprising since she says all her inventory isn't in.
