The salesperson was rude and impatient. She will fire off questions aggressively to identify your needs and then rush you to the cash register. Also, keep your kids near. I noticed she is unkind to children. So beware if your little one takes interest in any of the cute clothing. She is not fond of them touching anything and will let you know. We bought my daughter several items here over the years, including shoes and leotards. She was only 3 or 4 years old the first time we shopped here. The last time we went Peggy told my daughter not to try on shoes unless she planned to buy them. She was young and that made her feel unwarranted pressure. We ended up just buying them somewhere else. She's almost 20 and still dancing. She told me she's scared of the lady working there and won't shop there. Life long customers are the best to have. Come Support Small Business Owner! There isn't many dance stores around but all around this store has me sold. From Great Service to the owner knowing how to size my daughter by just looking at her. That shows some real expertise. The store is small however you can find what you need here as they have plenty of options to choose from. Prices are reasonable too. With the great service promise you can't you go wrong. Def. worth a drive to buy dance clothes here. Con: it was a little hard to locate on maps as it took me around the building and the store didn't have a huge sign but it did have a flag to show you its there. The staff was very accommodating. I was looking for ballet shoes for my two girls and could not find a retail store with inventory. It was too late to order online. Found diamond dancewear on Yelp. The staff member was very informative. I had difficulty find the place since it is located in a large commercial area, however the staff assisted me and was very patient providing directions to the store. There was parking right in front of the store. Upon entering the store it was well stocked and very clean. We arrived to the store and there was a large inventory of ballet shoes and sizes. Firstly the few reviews that claim Peggy has bad customer service couldn't be further from the truth... My daughter is 5yrs old and has become one of those kids that insists on picking her own stuff out... Well in some of her dance classes she had specific things she needs to wear. Peggy worked directly with my little one empowered her however also knew what our dance studio required so directed her to the right things. Peggy helped pick out exactly what we needed all while making my daughter feel special. Because we have only been dancing for a month, and this is where I know Peggy has earned our buisnes for life. She refused to over sell us. I was so happy with her service I wanted to spend more money. She wouldn't let us lol! If your looking for an honest, well stocked, knowledgeable dance store don't go anywhere else but here! She was very patient on finding the perfect tap shoes for my daughter and she asked her to walk around, made sure she was comfortable enough walking in her shoes. I wouldn't normally be reviewing a dancewear shop, but wanted to tell of my experience with this one. I came here to get grips added to my daughters dance shoes by way of a tip from another student. The owner said they only do it for the shoes purchased at her store, and at a reasonable 8 bucks or so. I asked where else I could get it done, and she told me I would have a difficult time finding anyone to do it, and if I did, it would cost over $20. I figure this store must be doing very well in today's economy to turn down 2 pair of shoes at $20+. As I thanked her and walked out, she made a rude remark about the high school where the tip came from, and proudly laughed about it. Well, I did find a local shoe repair that cost $20, and I paid $20 less for the shoes than what she was charged for her shoes! It pays to look around. read more

I had a great experience with my daughter who is starting the dance team at school. I came in with a stroller and 2 other children and right away Peggy opened the door for me to greet us. I let her know what school we were from and she immediately went to work knowing exactly what my daughter needed for her outfit. She even knew down to the size without asking my daughter. I don't do reviews very often but the level of customer service I received from Peggy at Diamond Dancewear was so over the top amazing that I had to let everyone know about them. We were on our way from Aliso Viejo in to Chino High School for a Marching Band Competition this past Saturday and my son, who is in the Color Guard, left his jazz performance shoes in the band room when he changed. He texted me from the bus he was riding in that this had happened but since I am a Chaperone I was also on a bus heading to Chino. I pulled out my phone, went on the internet and typed in Dancewear in Chino. Diamond Dancewear came up and I called. I explained my situation to Peggy and since I had no way to come to her store she offered to come and bring the shoes to me. We guessed his size, she drove to the school met us there and the largest size she brought was too small. So this wonderful lady went back to her store, brought out 3 more sizes and luckily for my son one pair fit! She did all this for a sale of 1 pair of shoes for a kid who could not compete without them and only charged me what they would have cost anyone coming in to her store. I offered to pay her for the extra time and traveling but she wouldn't take it. You just don't see this level of customer service very often. I am a customer for life and will not hesitate to recommend her to all my friends that have kids in this program. My daughter is in Gymnastics and she wanted something different from what they sell at her school. The selection here for gymnastics is limited, but the owner was helpful. Prices are reasonable. The only thing that my daughter and I talked about is the owner has a loud voice. Maybe she was in the military or an instructor at a dance studio. This place was recommended to me by my daughter's dance school where they specifically said to "ask for Peggy." Let me just say that all the negative reviews about customer service is correct. As soon as my wife and daughter walked into the store "Peggy" made her first rude impression. My daughter just got her haircut and received a lollipop afterwards and as soon as she walked in she was scolded and ordered to relinquish her lollipop to her mother. She then proceeded to tell my daughter not to touch anything. After the sale "Peggy" handed the tights my wife bought to my daughter and said, "here; so you wont touch anything." Let me just praise my wife for maintaining her composure and temper because I know that I would have had a different reaction towards this disgusting individual. They may have a large selection, but I would pay more to buy it online or at another store. Perhaps it's time for "Peggy" to retire. I dont understand why this place has so bad reviews. A little shocked actually, because my experience with this store has only great. Great service and I can always find the things I need. I was on the school colorguard team, which is a sport that tosses flags, rifles, sabers, intertwined with dance. For field shows and competitions, we would need to use dance shoes. I have about four pairs of dances shoes... Character shoes in nude and black, pedini's, and jazz shoes. I bought all my shoes here at Diamond Dancewear. The first time I went here, the lady was super friendly. She helped me find what I needed, the exact shoe, the tights, everything. I dont remember how much they cost, for it was so long ago. The rest of the shoes I needed, she would deliver cost to my house. That's right. She would drive to Diamond Bar, meet me somewhere say McDonald's, to save me the drive back out to Chino. That's very nice of her. I'm not sure what it is about everyone else, but I really like this store. I will continue to come back for all my dance supply needs. read more

Great place! I enrolled myself in a ballet class at my college and was looking up places in the area to get my leotard. I ran across this place online but read about the horrible reviews and decided to try elsewhere. After running around, an hour before my class started, I had no choice but to go here after a couple other stores I tried were closed. I called my mom to give me directions and she called the owner telling her that I was arriving. Obviously, she knew who I was when I walked in and asked me to sit down to start fitting me for my ballet slippers. She asked where I went to school and from that information she knew the name of my teacher! Amazing considering how many schools are in the area. I told her I was on a budget and she gave me the cheapest best quality items she had while always asking "is this amount in your budget" She was very fast and I was in and out in under ten minutes. She even gave me good advice about my teacher. I had a little money to spare so I asked for a ballet skirt. She said "I'd love to sell you one, but your teacher will have you take off the skirt halfway through the semester, so I wouldn't suggest you buy one" How greatly honest! Knowing this information she must have some connections with certain teachers/professors in the area, making me think she's the go-to-girl for dancewear. As I was trying on my leotard, a woman walked in just browsing for some clothes for her grandaughter. I was listening to hear if the owner would be rude (from the reviews I read) but she was wasn't in the least! She comes off as stern and is honest, and I think people take that as rude. However, she is great and I would advise anyone who plans to buy dancewear to go to this place. She knows her stuff! read more

We were a little iffy about coming here due to some of the bad reviews. I wanted my daughter to be properly fitted for pointe shoes, therefore we were a little afraid of going to a chain store. So we sucked it up and gave Diamond Dancewear a try. It was the right decision! The owners daughter was running the shop and was very knowledgeable and helpful. Once we found the perfect size and fit of pointe shoe, we also had her help fit a pair of canvas flat shoes. my daughter swears she's never had a pair of pointe shoes fit so well! The prices were VERY reasonable (we just moved here from Missouri and have never paid so little for pointe shoes!) and she gave us a 10% studio discount. We had a wonderful experience and will definitely be back for future fittings AND purchase. read more

The lady in one of the photos, purple top, white hair, black pants, is very rude. She is short. She will not let me touch the shoes nor look inside. I am not allowed to try both feet, i am only allowed to try on one foot. so i cant feel both feet. I wear size 6 but she gave me 7.5. when i ask for 7, she said "too big for u". its turns out she only has 7.5 as the smallest size. she does not have size 7 at all.
