Wonderful place to stop on our one-day trip in Yuma! After a long day of driving from Vegas, across the border for dental work and then visiting a date farm for date shakes and a camel farm to feed the animals ...we finished out the day at the Prison Hill Brewing Co. Aptly named for the AZ State Prison nearby and they use a lot of clever prison references on their menus! I had a Jailbait Blonde and a Lite Sentence Hefe - both great craft beers. They make flavored Jäger too like cherry Jäger yum! And for dinner, we ate several awesome appetizers like Poutine (POO-teen) ha ha (but that's for meat eaters!) They were great (so my bf said!) yummy French fries smothered in cheese and Guinness meat gravy. I had one sans gravy and wow! Then I had the veggie fare which I thought really hit the spot! The Prison Hill Pretzels app and the Sprung Rolls!! (Get it!? As in he's been "sprung from jail!") LOL loved this place and happy hour beer prices too boot! For a Tues night we had great service at the bar from a lovely bartender, Edith. You also can see the manager...maybe owner, nice guy with a beard really keeping an eye out on everything to be sure good service is had by all. Good place to get great beer, above average bar food, but bar staff has a bit of hipster attitude.

Came here today with a coworker/friend and It was just ok. The bartender seemed a little snooty. She was helpful enough in suggesting their standard house beer but it was up to me to determine the rest. Ended up picking something I dont even remember the name of...clearly just ok. We ordered the pretzel app, sidewinder fries, and shrimp spring rolls (to go). First the pretzels, the pretzels themselves were good. Soft and easy to pull apart. The sauces ruined them. The "beer cheese" tasted odd. Didnt taste like beer or cheese....kind of just a runny watered down tostitos queso. The spicy brown was kind of bitter but the better of the sauces. For reference, I put spicy brown on everything (sandwiches, pork rinds, regular bagged pretzels, etc) so I know it shouldnt taste bitter. Second, the fries. These were actually better than we expected. Took 20 questions with the bartender to finally figure out they are essentially steak cut curly fries. I'm not necessarily a fan of steak cut or curly fries but these were decent. My favorite ones were the thinner ones that were more crispy so maybe they can build on that??? Finally, the shrimp spring rolls. What shrimp??? We checked our to go order before we left and barely noticed the shrimp. When we asked if we got the correct order the bartender said "shrimp spring rolls right?....sometimes the shrimp is hard to find". That should say it all about the extra $3 you have to pay for almost non existent shrimp. It has the potential to be amazing. Good location, decent sized space, awesome amount of parking (in the lots to the north). All in all it was eh. I relocated from an area that has a bazillion really great breweries so maybe I'm just spoiled. I will go back with my significant other to give them another chance and try other food. Started off great with tasty pretzels and beer cheese, but our meal quickly went south with "The Shank," a cheese "filled" burger. The buns on both were burned, neither cooked medium, and the cheese was difficult to find. The fries were good (how hard are those to make?), but the pasta salad was bland...all that combined with an inattentive waiter made this a less-than-memorable stop. BK would have been a better pit stop! read more

The beer selection is excellent, the brisket however was very fatty and very tough. That is why the low rating. The inside is quite nice. I'll have to try another dish next time. Also it is quite expensive especially if you can't eat your dinner. The six dollar beers are no bargain either. The worst brisket my wife and I ever tried to eat, and we could not eat more than a bite or two the rest I feed to the dog! YUK!! read more

This place was really good, had a good selection of beer on tap only thing is i wish they had more than just 1 hard cider to choose from. We sat at the bar and the bartender was extremely nice and helpful I believe her name was Edith, I had the jail bird and elote it was hella good, I would definitely come back. read more

The food was very good here. However we ate here twice while they are for work and both times it felt like they forgot us sitting outside. Their beer is pretty good and we enjoyed going back the next day to eat again. Prices are pretty good, really the only thing I could ding them for is that the service was very slow and they don't come out to check on you very often. read more

Pruison Hill is a great place to go for lunch, dinner, or just a few beers with friends. I love their back grass patio with tables and heaters (though it can get loud if the Kress is playing music). They have excellent food (I love the pretzel appetizer!). They also have really cute clothes, but do need more female clothing options. Great spot to hangout downtown or to stop in on your bar crawl. read more

Food, meh, waiter, WHACK. Jake was his name, he brought our beers and after one drink of a beer labeled a "pale ale" I tasted burned bananas. Asked Jake for something to replace it and he reluctantly brought me another beer after saying "I'll see what I can do". However, when the check came, he charged me for BOTH beers saying "well you drank some".... That's complete CRAP. I'll never go back. Skip it and go next door to Da Boyz where the food is better and the service is professional. read more

Great local brewery in the middle of downtown Yuma! They have all kinds of local brews along with a few others and I saw 5-6 different things on the menu I wanted to try. It's a cool place to chill and watch whatever game is on as well. read more

We are a band from LA called the Walcotts, & were passing through Yuma on tour & played at Prison Hill. What a fantastic place with some of the coolest people I've ever met! From the moment we walked in until some post show brews, we were treated like part of the fam & had an amazing time! Everyone was really attentive & appreciated the music. Owner Chris Wheeler is a super cool guy, & so knowledgeable & passionate about brewing it's contagious. Every beer of theirs I tried was delicious as well as the food. One of the best places for food in Yuma. Only giving four stars due to poor wait staff and waiting time for food. Came in and waited 15 minutes before anyone took our drink order. Another 25+ minutes later our food came. Didn't see another waitress after that. The food, however, was great. The poutine is good. I don't remember the name of the burger I got, but it was stuffed with bacon and mozzarella and topped with fried avocado. Super great! Would definitely recommend this place if you don't mind waiting around. read more

Service was good, but one of the servers rolled her eyes at my friend we complained to the manager and the manager asked my friend to leave and banned her, he didn't ban me or the two other people that were with us. So then the girl that got my friend banned the server Selenia went and talked about us on social media calling us names which isn't right because she has that she works at prions hill as her job. And personal life issues should not be mixed business/work. We all weren't banned and she was not right for calling the rest of us names. read more

Pretty good. Super friendly. Great atmosphere, the tri tip had great flavor, but could have been warmer, and the mac salad needed salt or more seasoning. They were busy, and their computer system went down right after we arrived. The husband loved his pulled pork sandwich (it was delicious). Their "1st Offense" house crafted beer was delicious! This was our 1st time and unfortunately our last time. We first ordered a flight and the avocados. I can say that the beer, cider and avocados were delicious. It took about 30 mins from the time we ordered our drinks and appetizer. So I assumed we would be getting our food early also.. well that was not the case. It took 1.5 hrs for our food to arrive. When the food finally arrived it was cold. The burgers were burnt and dried. Unfortunately we will not be going again. read more

It is nice to have another choice on Main Street in Yuma. Food was good, and there is a decent beer variety. My main complaint is that they do not offer beer flights, nor do they have more than 3 of their own beers at a time, both staples in any establishment with "brewing" in their name. read more

The beer here is brewed in house and is delicious - try the Wreck It Rauch! It is great. The food is excellent, but not your traditional faire - there are unique spins on just about everything on the menu. You can only get this beer here, and you can only get this food here - both are unique and both are delicious. Prices are reasonable and the décor is cool. Wait staff were friendly and service was speedy. Found myself returning here again and again for the month I was in Yuma. read more

There's kind of two reviews here, 1st beer/environment: 4-the beer is really good, the service is great. I like the open feel of the restaurant. 2nd the food....which is why it gets an overall 2. I had one of the crafty burgers which sounded really delicious...it was underwhelming. Meat wasn't seasoned at all....coleslaw was standard. My husband had the brisket sandwich. The onion/cheese mixture was better than the meat, which was rubbery. I'm from Texas, and that's a sin to make brisket rubbery. A bit of work needs to be done on the food, and it would've been an awesome experience. I would definitely go back for the beer. read more

Every time I'm in the Yuma area I make sure to stop by for a house Caesar with their awesome chili, bacon, & vegetable infused vodka. Holy crap, it's so delicious! Their Chipotle Shredder is another must have! So so so yummy! read more

Stumbled across this place traveling back to Cali looking for a quick bite that was not fast food. Prison Hill Brewing Co did not disappoint! Their house brewed beers were full flavored and they keep on tap an awesome pineapple cider from Ace that was so delish! The food is prepared perfectly, they totally nailed it with their pulled pork sandwich and their burger was a classic that everyone will be happy with. I wanted to write this review as the bar keep (owner?) was friendly and seemed to genuinely care about their budding business... I asked how long they had been in business and his reply was "Just 4months... Just learning to crawl but we will be walking soon" well sir I say you guys hit the ground running! Bottom line is this is a great place to stop when in Yuma & hungry or thirsty! read more
