The beer here is legit and so is the food. The Parolee Pale Ale very and DIPA Penetration are great beers that I would recommend to my fellow Colorado hop-heads. Friendly staff and good music made for a great evening. They are also humble and have a good variety of guest beers on tap but I stuck with their own brews. read more

If you're driving through Yuma on your way to San Diego and have time to sit down, you need to make a visit to Prison Hill Brewing Company. Prison Hill is the real deal and you won't be disappointed. I've been a couple of times and enjoy it when I go - but I don't think it's worth the price to go on a regular basis. I enjoyed the flight of beer option, and the server was somewhat knowledgable of the different beers on tap. Three stars for price and that the service was really slow - even though there was only about 6 other people in the place. read more

Its tough (from my perspective as a new visitor) to find a unique setting in Yuma for dinner, one with healthy fare and interesting decor, along with winter patio seating. We were about to give up and just get on the road for Phoenix, when I located this little gem in their downtown. If you want a fantastic splurge, please do try the fried avocado and a sampler of their beers. Once we got our waiter won over with our charm, LOL, he was very attentive. But expect that on busy nights you may have to hunt down some water and service. But they want to make you happy, hey...there just busy. I liked their darker beers and loved how unique their menu was, even trying to feature their local produce and dates. Hope to return whenever I visit that area again.... read more

Honestly wow what a great last Arizona meal! My friends and I were driving back from Phoenix to San Diego, and we stopped in Yuma which is the halfway point. Thank God we found this place because WOW. The food was absolutely spectacular. I highly recommend getting their fried avocados. Don't think about that diet you've been working on. Get the fried avocados. They are sooooo so good with their special sauce. The burgers are magnificent and the brisket is something else. We came to prison hill with a party of about 15 people. It was the worst service I've ever encountered. Waitress was very rude and we waited 30 minutes for a drink. My husband had asked for a sample of a drink and they brought him the full glass. Then the waitress just stood their arguing with us saying he didn't want the sample and he really just wanted the full glass. I will NOT be returning to the prison hill. read more

I am in San Diego at least a week out of the month and in Phoenix/Scottsdale every four or five weeks. I always try to find a good brewery. Been very lucky in SD and EXTREMELY lucky in my Yuma trips. We went there for my birthday lunch which turned out very tasty. When we got there I wasn't feeling like having a beer so I ordered a soft drink. Couldn't help but feel the waitresses lack of approval and almost attitude. I realize we came to eat at a brewery but my taste for beer isn't always there. The food menu speaks way louder to me than the beer does. Had the tri tip sandwich. Can we say YUMMMMM? What a delicious meal that was. Overall a great visit to Prison Hill. read more

Just finished lunch. The food was amazing. I ordered the Wrecker it was amazing. Good balance of Sausage, Brisket and pulled pork. Coleslaw and fixings were good as well. The fries are what took it from 4.5 stars to 5. A buddy of mine ordered the PrisonHill blond ale, and claimed it was terrific with a sausage sandwich. It's really a pleasure to stop here for a great lunch when driving to/from Phoenix & San Diego. Great place to stop on your way to Tuscon. Beer and food were both great and the restaurant is in the middle of Yuma's downtown.

Service left a lot to be desired. Emily, our server, took our initial drink an food order then we hardly ever saw her again. On several occasions we tried to flag her down and she walked right past us. Several times we were left with four empty glasses in front of us and were continually ignored. Our only saving grace was the waitress in the next section. They promote themselves as a brewing company but were out of their own beer! The food was good, nothing extraordinary and the sidewinder fries were VERY salty. Hard to eat when the waitress leaves you with empty drinks. read more

This place is worth every star! I am always a fan of whatever local breweries I find, but add on great service and amazing food? Obviously I'm sold. I had the crostini too easy, and it was great. They actually know how to prepare the bread properly so that it isn't to crunchy or too soft. My only complaint would be that the ranch didn't seem as fresh as it should be. I like the atmosphere and the outside seating. I would like to give this joint 4 stars but the food and the beer selection just hasn't gone over the top for me. The indoor seating area for some reason feels awkward - I can't put my finger on it but if you walk inside you will feel what I mean. Also the downfall about sitting outside in the evening is that you have to listen to the loud crappy music & bass that's blaring from the Top of The Kress - Huge huge thumbs down - the staff & service though has always been above average for Yuma, kudos to them. read more
