Pristine Painting did an excellent job on our house! There were some delays,and not all of them because of the weather,but Kurt warned us that they were working another job an that that might happen. The time and materials ended up being a little more than the written estimate,but considering that the cost was tens of thousands of dollars cheaper than the next lowest estimate,this is not a complaint either. Some companies would not even paint our house because it's old so there was some lead in the old paint. Pristine is fully licensed so there were no worries there. We agreed to a price and the scope of work, he set me up for 24 July 2023. He said it would take over two weeks to get the job done. I solicited four bids from reputable painters in Santa Cruz to paint the exterior of my house and selected Kurt and Pristine. I bought the house a year ago and it was in desperate shape and needed detailed prep work and TLC. Of the four, Kurt was the only one who reassured me that his crew would take care of all the prep work, which actually took a two-person crew two full days to complete. One of the other painters actually told me if I wanted to get the prep done more cheaply I should go to Home Depot and hire a couple of guys--that painter was not selected... Anyway, Kurt gave me a very reasonable bid compared to the others and backed it up with a multi-year warranty. He said the siding would not only need to be sprayed two coats but that the second coat would be "back-rolled"--a process where one guy sprays and the other guy goes right after him and rolls the paint in to ensure maximum penetration. The crew was here every day on time, were very courteous, and responded to my suggestions and requests with no questions asked. They did a terrific job and went above and beyond what I expected. Since they were so detailed and took well over a week to complete, I thought Kurt would ask for additional money when we met to settle up. To my relief, he simply asked if I was happy with the job and to let him know if I had any concerns come up in the future because they would come back to make things right.
