I've since had a change of employment and need to shorten my visit there. Per campground policy clearly stated online, credits or refunds aren't given for cancellations on holiday weekends. I'm available for the weekend, and submitted a request for credits for the non-holiday nights so I can use them in the future, per policy. Dave (who claimed to be owner, then clarified as Gen Mgr) denied my request... claims this cannot be done. I asked what would happen if someone had a lengthy reservation like weeks or maybe a month ... would they be locked into the entirety because a holiday fell within their dates?? He said no, they wouldn't; that's different. And he declined to afford me any means of contacting someone else (such as the owner) so that I could request ... "they won't be back for weeks anyways", he said. Please, per policy, I am keeping my nonrefundable non creditable weekend nights (3), would like to have the non-holiday nights (4) issued as a credit for a future stay. Dave has been ineffective in explaining to me why it's impossible for me to do this ... but is certainly possible for someone else in same situation.

Private campgrounds are usually crowded and loud. Not Mt Greylock. Big wooded site. Lots of privacy. Clean. Friendly helpful staff. This is clearly a gem in the Berkshires. Not super suited to tent camping but most modern private campgrounds aren't. This one most of the sites have water electric and gray water discharge. Rv sites are easy to get into. They deliver wood to your site. They have a pool but we did not visit- we had the dog. They had live music Saturday night. A great add. Bath house was clean. Showers nice sized. State parks charge more for less. - Quiet setting - Wooded sites - All sites have water and some have water and electric - Clean bathrooms and showers (only 2 of each but in 2 evenings, I never had an issue. I was gone during the day and not sure what it's like in that timeframe. it's not a large campground and there are multiple RVs and I suspect they use their own facilities.) - You will receive a welcome bag at check-in with a site map to help you get to your site, the rules and regs, a guide to The Berkshires, a large garbage bag, and a pen. - The On-site laundry is in a small cabin-like building. It is clean and has a table, two chairs, and many books - On-site propane station - Large playground, an entertainment pavilion, a rec room (I didn't use them so not sure what's included) I will definitely stay again if/when I'm the area.

I spent two nights there in a tent recently, during a Trout Hunting outing (there are excellent streams nearby and a good size lake down the road). Restroom was exceptionally clean, showers decent size. The new owners are friendly and very helpful. I had a bit of an incident involving my cell phone and a trout stream, and had to contact my wife and also email someone for my business. Renee took care of everything! If you're looking for a big pavillion, pool, organized kids activities, etc, probably not the best place for it. If you are looking for a picturesque, quiet place with very nice owners, check it out. People heavy depending upon what time of day and year you visit. I visited on 4th of July weekend. It wasn't as people heavy as expected. The drive up from the main roadway is really nice. Beautiful area! I would visit this park for another opportunity if I'm ever in the area again.

Greylock and the bike path to ashuwillticook-rail-trail is close by along with stores and supermarkets for supplies. The campground goes through town and is tucked away in the center of a wooded/farmland neighborhood. The bathrooms, showers and comfort station to wash dishes are newly installed and clean daily. The camp sites are swept clean and a decent amount of privacy between bushes and trees. The campground also has a pond that has nice sunsets to watch as well as a short hiking paths. No need for an alarm clock because there is a rooster that will wake you up in the morning from a nearby farm! You are truly in the back country! I highly recommend setting up your homestead!

There was a consistent breeze next to the water, which helped reduce bugs. The sites were very clean and spacious. It's a beautiful camp ground to walk around and there is a trail that goes around the reservoir. Hearing the Loons at dusk/dawn was almost ethereal. Highly recommend!

Over the years, it's grown into a second home not just for us, but for our extended family and friends who also spend their summers here. It's the perfect spot for families, with Friday night movies in the park, hayrides, cornhole, DJ dance parties, bingo, kids' crafts, a great pool and creek, and fun events like Christmas in July and the annual carnival. There's always something going on, and Mike (the owner) does a great job keeping things fun, organized, and welcoming. Aqua Vista is truly our summer home away from home.

First time visiting this state forest. I found this place in the hiking book and it says good for…read moresnowshoeing. So I tried today. Because it snowed yesterday it was a good condition. Snow is very soft and powdery. It seems people snowshoe here 3 miles, but not further. We snowshoe 6 miles, so was breaking trail a lot. It was scenic and nice.
