After researching several options including full service private guide companies with a separate driver and guide to on your own guiding (tour bus, taxi, private car) we selected Gondal and Private DC Tours because they offered the best of both worlds at a great price value. Private DC Tours was not the cheapest and not the most expensive. My wife and I and my mother in law were looking for someone to help us with our schedule, drive us around all day and have enough knowledge of DC and all of the attractions to help us better understand each place we visited. We did not want to pay for a separate guide and driver and we did not want to go with a group. Gondal drives and guides at the same time which was perfect for us. Each day he dropped us right off in front of the place we were visiting and came right back to the same spot to pick us up. if you are looking for this type of experience you be very pleased and I doubt you will find someone as good as Gondal. Believe me, I did my research. Gondal worked with us to finalize our schedule and his knowledge of DC and all of the attractions help us plan our 5 day sightseeing tour perfectly. On August 19, 2023, my husband and I met a gentleman named Ehsan, an employee of Private DC Tours, LLC. Our private tour, 10:00 - 2:00, was red carpet service. He made contact with me immediately that morning by providing us with his exact location outside McPherson Metro Station. Our private ride was in a well-equipped, spacious Suburban. Upon meeting Ehsan, we established our tour game plan. He was very accommodating, knowledgeable, and personable. We appreciated the historical knowledge he shared at all the locations and regarding Washington, D.C. as well. He worked with us to secure the best locations for photography, allowing us to jump out and take photographs as needed. He shared photos he took of the wonderful locations with us as well. A necessary visit at the Botanical Gardens turned into a great stop. When we arrived at the memorial we most desired to see, the U.S. Marine Corps War Memorial, I had a teary-eyed moment. My husband did some research a few weeks before our family trip to Washington, D.C. for Easter weekend and came across Gondal from Private DC Tours on Tripadvisor. We decided to do a private tour as we went to D.C. last year and used the "Hop On, Hop Off bus" and that was a nightmare. The whole experience from planning our tour till to the end was a breeze. My husband planned out the sites we wanted to see and he made suggestions to us too. Gondal sent us a text that morning and confirmed that he would pick us up at 10:00 am. We were 7 in our group and fit very nicely in his car and it was immaculate. Gondal made our trip very exciting. I, along with 4 family members, took an afternoon tour of five D.C. monuments with Gondal as our tour guide. I can't say enough about how excellent this tour was. It was absolutely the best, easiest, and most comfortable way to see the atttractions of the city. Gondal was very knowledgeable, and very responsive and accommodating to some last minute changes we had to make in our plans, and to all of our needs on the tour. He had video presentations in his immaculate Suburban of each of the sites we visited, and we could stay at each stop as long as we wanted, and he was ready to pick us up whenever we were finished and take us to our next destination. He had cold water and soft drinks available for us in a cooler in the back of the car. Gondal was a wonderful guide. My two teenagers (14 and 17), wife, and I wanted to have a low stress tour of the monuments in Washington DC and he didn't disappoint. He was very responsive to my emails and also accommodating -- when my daughter got ill, Gondal rescheduled our tour until the next night without hesitation or charge (luckily, he had availability). During the tour the next night, he accommodated us further by dropping two of us at the hotel before the end of the tour (the recovering daughter was very tired) and brought the other two people back out to see the White House. He was very knowledgable about the sites and gave us facts on each site through a video/powerpoint presentation in the car. We recently did an evening tour of Washington DC with Bruce. We had an amazing time! Bruce picked us up at the restaurant we ate dinner at promptly at 7 PM. He first drove us to the Capitol where we saw the most amazing sunset! The drive in between locations was filled with so much knowledge and history of Washington DC. It seemed like every building we passed he had something to say about it. Our other stops included the Lincoln memorial, pentagon, and Thomas Jefferson memorial. Bruce came prepared with a light to take help take awesome photos of us in the dark at the monuments. We could have gotten out at more locations but it was cold and we enjoyed cruising around with Bruce hearing all the great facts! He dropped us off at our hotel right at 10 PM. I have been working in the travel industry since 1989 and have been on many tours however this was truly one of my favorites. I love how personalized the tour was for our group. Gondal was more than accommodating. We did a day trip to DC - flew in at 1130a & out at 10p - he picked us up & dropped off at DCA. Most tours would only pick up at Metro stops or hotel lobbies. Other tours would only start at 9a or 1p. Gondal was the ONLY DC tour that allowed us to do EXACTLY what we wanted. Stop where we wanted, stay for as long as we wanted. Nothing was eliminated and all request were honored. We had a party of 5 ranging in age from 12 years to 50 years. We were all thrilled. You will NOT be disappointed! Gondal was everything you could possibly want in a personal tour guide, a chauffer, and a local historian, he was very knowledgeable on all the monuments and tourist attractions, He brought us all up to speed on the history of the areas of Arlington & DC. We had ample time to walk around the different monuments and sites and at each location before we even left the vehicle we felt like we already knew so much about its history as Gondal had shown us a very informative presentation in the car. The tour we did was approx. 5 hours but could easily have taken a day and a half using the buses it was by far worth every penny,(or even cent) To sum up this was an excellent way to tour the DC area and I can only strongly recommend this service as great value for money. read more

We booked Gondal for an 8 hour tour of DC over 2 days. This was the our first time in DC for myself, my husband, and our two daughters (16 and 13). Gondal was punctual, knowledgeable and personable. He gave a very detailed video presentation before each monument / memorial / site that we toured. It was great to have the context and background before getting out of the car and visiting each site. We learned a ton! When we were done at each site we just texted Gondal and he was right there to pick us up and take us to the next one. He also had water and soda for us. This was our first time to visit DC and we booked with Gondal and Private DC Tours because of his GREAT reviews on TripAdvisor. We were not disappointed!!! I'm a single mom of two sons (15 and 9) so safety was a concern. Gondal took great care of us. I even lost my cell phone and he helped me find it. His vehicle was EXTREMELY clean and he had cold beverages for us to enjoy on a hot May evening. We picked his 4-hour moonlight tour. He picked us up at our hotel (Residence Inn by Marriott in National Harbor) and brought us back after the tour. Gondal did an amazing job for our group! There were 7 of us including my 82 year old grandmother. All we talked about was how wonderful it was to be driven to ever destination on our list. It was the easiest thing for my grandmother compared to getting on a tour bus on and off all day. Gondal explained every stop and had a PPT with explanation with details that we would have never known otherwise. We even changed our itinerary half way into the day and he made it work to make sure we saw everything that we wanted to. It was an unforgettable journey through DC. My son and I made a birthday present for my husband and the surprise was a real success. We initially requested a black American car, and also moved our trip by an hour, all our requests were granted. The car arrived at our house on time, comfortable, clean car and only for our family. I traveled with two 14 year old girls and hired Gondal for 2 full days of tours. It was the best thing I could have done traveling with 2 teenagers. We were able to see 10 sites in 2 days! Gondal had gotten tickets that were required for some attractions ahead of time which made our travel very easy. I want to say Gondal is the real deal. My family of 7 (children from infant to 16 years old) all had a great time. We toured DC for 8 hours on one of the busiest weekends of the year (July 4th weekend) and we were able to see 10-12 different sites, and never felt rushed at all. Gondal gave us options as what we wanted to see and do. He used his iPad and made presentations about each monument or location we went to and showed clips from movies portraying history or the monuments we were visiting.
