I spent the night here after some surgery on my neck. It is a wonderful place to recover. All the staff Shelly, carol, Joan PartAnd the most important Anita were all super compassionate and patient. The view from the room was inredible and the food from the restaurant downstairs restaurant was really good. the best thing that was said it was so quiet and not like a hospital where you have so much going on on what time you close your door and nobody would bother you except I need to come for medications. I'm hoping my experience is solely my own, however, this was unfortunate enough that I contacted Patti and my doctor's assistant immediately about my experience, and I was told by both her and my doctor's office that I would receive a follow-up, and have not received it after 3 weeks. Most of my reviews are about healthcare because I believe that we have to look out for each other. So here are the things that went wrong 1) I was at Prive because my doctor has an interest in the facility. So my first problem is, I was promised I would be billed, then received a call on a Thursday, when my surgery was on a Tuesday morning, that I had to pay upfront. So, if you need to be billed, have it done at a hospital. 2) The aftercare takers are home health specialists. Which means, you don't have the same type of care or knowledge from most of the caretakers as you would from an RN at a hospital. One of the main problems is they didn't explain my medications, or proactively care by interpreting my needs (ice pack, water) 3) my first caretaker, I believe her name is Shelly, asked me how much pain medication I should have. Not how much pain, but asked me to tell her how many pills. The problem is I had no idea what dosage of my pain meds were, and more importantly, I'm not a doctor or nurse. 4) this same caretaker, told me, After I requested pain meds, water, ice packs, and help to the bathroom, but she forgot the ice pack and/or water, and I hadn't gone to the bathroom yet, so when I reminded her, she said "you need to ask for everything at once, I now have another patient". On her return, she repeated it. Because she made me feel so uncomfortable, I asked my father to help me get out of bed (I had spine surgery) to go to the bathroom, asked my father to keep those leg massaging things unplugged (because my hands were too weak too plug and unplug). 5) she left, and the light of stay Debra came to my aid. She brought chocolate to me and took very good care of me. 6( however, the weirdest thing to happen was while I was all doped up at 5:30 am, Joan told me about a skin cream they had at the office. I told her I didn't have money but it sounded great. She got my chart, asked if my email on the chart was my correct email, and then emailed MULTI LEVEL MARKETING videos, not a cream that the office sells. 7) when I called Joan from my room to get ibuprofen, she said I didn't have any. I told her I did, because I already had it. She said, without putting me on hold, that she didn't see it. I said well I have a prescription I brought with me, but didn't know if it would be okay if I took it. She said get your own. To recap: Alright, the pluses: there is free candy, yummy food from Kreation, a gorgeous room, and Debra. Give her a raise. The negatives are if you have a major surgery like two artificial discs and shaving down bones in your neck, at least in my unfortunate experience, they are not capable of caring for you properly. So, I advise you to stay in a hospital after this type of surgery. read more

I stayed two nights after my extensive surgery. All of the nurses were wonderful, except for Shelly. She was short, curt, and immediately argumentative. I mentioned I would like to stay another night, and she immediately said they were full and said it's $1500 a night!? She was surprised I could afford it, I guess, lol. I didn't understand how she could say such a thing, and couldn't figure out, if she was a nurse or administrator. Other than for my experience with Shelly, the room was wonderful. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the view was absolutely amazing! The driver to and from my doctors office was wonderful, as well. I would recommend them. read more

They sent me home nauseous and unstable because they had to close. Deborah who was supposedly the main nurse had me crying and told me to call my primary care physician, which I did. Please call me directly if you would like verification or more information 818-983-7012. I do not want one more person to experience what I did. I went to the ER after leaving Prive Aftercare. This should never happen. I am also hoping this review will change their ways, my complaining to them or the doctor was with no follow up. All care (mostly CNA's not RN's) came to the room repeatedly unprepared. When I called, Deborah answered "what do you want this time" and then told me to call my primary care physician. I was so upset from asking for help I could not do myself and not getting it, being in pain, then being told about other patients who needed help first. It was such a miserable experience I've left my number for anybody to contact me. It is a business line. I will call you back or have somebody call you back if you call. read more

I had the most wonderful experience. The staff was professional, kind and attentive and they truly cared about making me as comfortable as possible after my back surgery. My room was new, clean, modern and the view was tranquil and very peaceful. My bed and my pillows were so wonderful, I had to ask where they were purchased from so I can buy a set at home. I was allowed to rest as much as possible. My nurse, Carol, my nurse, was amazing. She was very kind, and very patient with me. She even called me after I left, to follow-up and see how I was feeling. My only disappoint was that I wish I could have stayed a few more days to get through the first week of intense pain. The entire staff was warm and very caring throughout my entire stay. My sincere thanks to the entire staff at Prive for your kindness and compassion. I will not hesitate to work with you again in the future should I need additional surgeries, and will recommend your unique services to all my friends and family. I had a hybrid surgery on my CSpine, a few days ago and spent the night at Prive'. Everyone there is fantastic but then there's Debra, Prive's Nurse extraordinaire. She saw that I was pretty scared; she made it her mission to keep me smiling, laughing, actually and out of pain. Debra is a wonderful person, an exceptional nurse and makes you feel like you're in really good hands. I recently had a major surgery done by the lovely Dr. Kohan. His office was trying to send me to serenity a different aftercare facility as he needed to monitor how I was doing being that my surgery was 7 hours long. I had done my research on serenity they had great reviews but unfortunately they didn't have any availability for the days of my surgery so the receptionist at Dr. Kohan's office told me not to worry as they had other aftercare facilities they utilize. So they set me up with Privé which was a tad bit more expensive than serenity but let me tell you it was well worth the price!!!!!! I was picked up by a CNA and private driver taken to Privé escorted to my room via wheelchair and assisted to my room immediately I was medicated tended to and made comfortable. The nursing staff was no joke but in a good way! Being a Registered Nurse myself for 11yrs I know the expectations of nursing staff but I also know there are lazy nurses out there as well. These nurses were nothing but amazing diligent and knowledgeable of their profession and is exactly what is needed for each of their individual patients. After such a long surgery there's nothing more you want to do but be doped up on the strongest pain meds and go to sleep. Don't get me wrong that was part of the process however you as the patient had to hold up on your end of the deal which is being compliant with getting up to walk every 2 hours so you don't get blood clots (life threatening FYI) drinking plenty of water to stay hydrated and eating the recommended foods (which was pretty darn delicious ) I stayed a total of 48hrs at Privé and it was totally worth every penny!!!!! Never once did I have to wait for medications or ask for food it was always offered in a timely manner. My CNA I cannot brag enough about her she was heaven sent and I owe my recovery time to that woman!!!! I'm on postop day 4 and based off of the YouTube video blogs I watched prior to surgery I was under the impression I was going to be in excruciating pain,need a walker and be constipated as all get out thanks to my lil Honduras CNA who made me get up every 2hrs to walk changed my food selection if mine was poor and drink a ton of water I experienced none of the horrific story's you see on YouTube! Privé is the way to go for an aftercare facility and it's just as beautiful as serenity! WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT! AVOID AT ALL COSTS! At first blush, Prive' (on 3rd Ave., Beverly Hills) appears to be a "first class luxury" (read: expensive) post-op facility, but spend a few days there and your opinion will change! The staff are a Jekyll & Hyde experience with some being kind, nurturing, attentive and even motherly (Edith, Priscilla, Krystal, Patty) while others give Nurse Ratched a run for her money in coldness and authoritarian behavior (Katie, Deborah and others). My 21 year old daughter recovered there for three days following significant back surgery and the "hot and cold" nature of this staff was mind-numbing. I would seek out the nice ones just to avoid the cold sterility and lack of care from the others. I wondered why one of the other people staying there brought their own full-time nurse - now I know why. Here's just two prime examples: My daughter was left alone for hours during the night with no means of contacting the nurses as the bedroom phone, her personal phone and EVEN WATER was removed from her reach (and the rooms don't have any other way of reaching the staff if you need them)! This left her to her own devices to try to get out of bed to go to the bathroom (remember, she had serious back surgery) and when we left the hospital on our way home WE REALIZED THEY HAD LEFT THE IV IN HER ARM AND WE HAD TO GO BACK! I could give other examples, but this should be enough to have you looking for another post-op facility to convalesce in. You definitely don't get what you paid for at Prive'! read more

This place was great! Just left there today after two nights of recovery. Deborah is an amazing nurse and Edith is probably one of the sweetest people you'll ever meet! I can't say enough good things about this place, the staff or the nurses! Patty was so helpful in the beginning, she answered all of my questions and calmed every fear I had! The nurse Sharon who was there when we first got there couldn't have been more professional or attentive and very funny! I just loved all of the nurses. The night nurse Deborah ( I am not great with names to begin and I had had a lot of meds so forgive me if I am wrong) was equally wonderful. I guess I just really want to say that if are lucky or blessed enough go go here, go and enjoy, I certainly did! read more

I stayed overnight after a hip surgery, and this was fantastic. The staff - in particular my nurses Sharon and Debbie - were incredibly kind, attentive, encouraging and professional. The room was great, comfortable, clean, and well equipped. Even the food they brought in was awesome. Can't recommend it enough. I am an RN who works at a surgery center. We regularly have our patients transported to Prive for an extra night of care. They are picked up by an RN with a chauffeured town car. They have very luxurious private facilities and all the nurses are ICU trained. Our center feels very comfortable knowing that our patients are very well looked after by nurses who are so knowledgeable. Patrick the scheduler is always on the ball and Cara the DON is very responsive, open to suggestions and approachable. They also offer all the other services like concierge medicine, home care, security etc. They now have two facilities, one in Westwood and the other on 3rd street. Both with access to major hospitals. Thank you Prive for making my patients so comfortable. read more

I wrote a negative review in which Prive changed it's policy and severely inconvenienced one of my patients. My patient felt she was going into a negative environment and went elsewhere. At first Prive refused to return her$900 but after mutual compromise her money was returned. I have used Prive many times this was the only time our patient wasnt picked up on time.If I eliminate this one unfortunate experience and my severely critical review which I did Prive deserves 5 stars. read more

My husband had spinal surgery at Beverly Hills Spine Surgery last week and spent the night following surgery at Prive. I can't speak highly enough about the care he received. Everyone was so nice, caring and professional. Patty, the director, was so nice and welcoming. Both Sharon (the day nurse) and Deborah (the night nurse) were so helpful, reassuring and warm. The nurses assistants, Edith and Veronica, were also very nice and caring. Plus, everyone had a great sense of humor, which is needed after a difficult procedure. You can tell that they all care about each other, their jobs and their patients. The facility itself was really nice and clean, like a high-end hotel. I stayed at Prive after a total knee replacement and couldn't have felt more cared for. Debra was my evening nurse and was so incredibly attentive, caring, and nurturing. Prive makes you feel as if you are their only patient. From the welcoming staff, Patty, and others to the caring nursing and support staff. The rooms are large with a queen size bed and large bathroom. It had an incredible view of the Hollywood Hills and remotes and phones to make everything accessible. I would not hesitate to stay at this luxury patient care facility again or recommend it. I stayed at prive on 3rd street in Beverly Hills , my stay was not in Westwood so I hope this review is for the 3rd street location. I was picked up from my plastics surgery procedures by a chauffeur and a nurse., this was the beginning of an awesome stay. The nurses are the best, and the cafeteria staff was great as well. I must let you know the names of these kind, passionate, and professional individuals: Linda,Seyma,Edith,Deborah, kim, and Marquis. They made my stay exceptional! If you decide to use this facility as your aftercare choice you will not be disappointed. I stayed at another post op center about 7 months ago for another procedure I had and my original nurse was so rude that it left me taken aback for the remainder of my stay. read more
