But the "warranty" apparently is bogus, and he is not even giving me the courtesy of telling me he is unwilling to fix things, and unwilling to give me any recommendations for a different painter. These were period accurate wood reproductions, unfinished on the interior and already installed into their frames. The sash cords where bright white, so detail and care were paramount. Mistakes at this phase had the potential to ruin a lot of hard work and so I wanted someone with a meticulous attention to detail. Eric's company is Sashwright's partner painter, so I went with them. Eric came by and assessed the situation, and we agreed on a quoted price. A short while later we reached the top of his queue and his crew came by and set up. They applied the appropriate protections for the area and we did the test match stains. Unfortunately, I think I messed this part up and green lit a stain combo that I later felt was too dark. During that discovery phase Eric & his crew were willing to discuss possible course correction options. Ultimately, after weighing the options I decided to stay the course rather than risk a lower quality result with rework. The final results are growing on me, and the quality and precision of their work really stands out. I'm frankly impressed with how well they look, knowing that they were stained and sealed in-situ! I was only able to get a reply from Eric and another company. I was surprised to see how high the quotes were, as I was expecting for things to cost half as much. Luckily, Eric was kind enough to explain the cost and his quote was $100 less than the other company, who didn't respond to me despite my contacting them several times. Communication with Eric was great, he was responsive and would return phone calls/emails the same day. They were busy but they were able to paint our deck before the weather got really bad. His crew spent the day meticulously painting our deck, they detached the railing instead of trying to paint around it (hence the extra cost) and did a double coat of paint. It rained later that day/next day so Eric told us to contact him if touch ups were needed, and they came out first thing in the morning the next business day. They use Benjamin Moore paints and it was easy to look up the colors online. The paint still looks like new several months later. I'm keeping him in my contacts for any future paint jobs!

Had a somewhat forced remodel of part of my downstairs due to a burst water pipe. As part of the…read moreremodel, bathroom and closest *needed* to be repainted, which left wife and I thinking about just having entire downstairs repainted. Sought 4 paint estimates for the work -- HyTone was in the middle. Why did I chose HyTone? First, when Tony (owner of HyTone) came to do the estimate, he took his shoes off prior to coming into house. (None of the other companies did this.) Now, I told all 4 companies I was having my floor redone, so perhaps it's why others didn't, but I appreciated the gesture. Second, out of the estimates done, one "eyeballed" everything, one used a laser pointer, one gave a verbal price per square foot estimate, and finally Tony took the time to actually measure things out with a good old fashioned tape measure. (Note that I work in the tech field... I'm all for technology and simplification, but something about actually measuring all the angles vs holding a laser to get a 'rough' estimate of size strikes me as detailed vs. 'approximately right'...) Third, of the written estimates, HyTone's simply looked the most professional. One estimate I received had some glaring errors/lack of detail. Another didn't specify how many coats were to be applied. HyTone's estimate was very specific and detailed -- covering both them and me. How was the work? Tony's crew (I don't recall their names unfortunately) were fantastic -- professional, hard-working, and courteous. They showed up on-time (if not a few minutes EARLY), every day, working from ~7:20am-4pm. Walls & ceiling all look fantastic. Further, they left no mess behind, and even accommodated a request we had to have an additional room of the house after the project already started. They even removed the TV off the wall mount so paint behind it, and also swapped-out a light bulb in a very hard-to-reach spot for me. All-told, having the downstairs painted was NOT cheap... But HyTone did great work at a price comparable to the other quotes I had received, and wouldn't hesitate to hire them again for my future painting needs.

I hired this company to mud, and paint my living and dining room. The price seemed fair, and the…read moreguy was friendly. The wall mud process was quick and well done. When it came time to get the painting done, it got weird. He (the same guy that did the quote and the mud work)would come, tell me that he had to do other quotes but would be back, and then id not see him until the following day. The paint I chose didn't seem to cover, and he told me that he would need a lot more to get the coverage, he also said that certain colors are thinner etc... since I had never painted a room, I trusted his word(my fault) after a week of him not painting, coming and going I decided to call the owner, not something I wanted to do, but the work wasn't getting done. The owner showed up and proceeds to talk down to the guy, who ended up being her son. Then started in on the colors I chose and wanting reasons for the colors, and the brand of paint. I finally said that id like to get the job finished, and since it was paid for what does she recommend. The suggested a different brand of paint ( that ended up being very expensive, but also nice colors), she gave a time limit to get the job finished. The following Monday I had the paint here, he painted the rooms in less than 12 hours, not letting the dark maroon color cure. When I asked him if he was coming back to do a 2nd coat, he said he was done, and he walked out. He left all his equipment , except the the radio that he was blasting creed from. I never heard back from them again. Both colors of paint were not cured between coats, and months after the job was finished anything was left leaning against the wall, it would stick, and peel off. I had a piece of art hanging up and when I moved the art, large pieces of paint peeled off, and continued to do so. I had to remove all the paint and repaint. One of the worst experiences I've ever had with someone that I hired to do a job for me.

She knew that I did not want people in the house much due to Covid so she and her son and daughter came and completed the job in two days. Most importantly, they did a GREAT job. They covered everything, left no scraps around nor any adhesive on window sills etc (It was a very messy removal for them - a LOT of adhesive ). We are older and couldn't move some of the furniture - Judy's son helped move things, reconnected the dryer vent, etc. We are very satisfied and would recommend this company.
