Signs point to no but if you really want to get ripped off go shopping at Phantom with no two for ones like I did on July 5th when I just had to get in one last holiday blast. I got almost shockingly little for north of $150. I mean, I was unemployment rich from pandemic aid but I really wasn't looking to burn that much cash. There's better bargains to be found in the tents pitched up in finer parking lots throughout the Detroit suburbs, places I don't know the names of or how to go about reviewing on Yelp. Hell, I don't even remember the intersection the one I went to this year was at, just that it was in a liquor store parking lot. They might not have the epic grand finale package that Phantom had, but I don't know anyone looking to plunk down those kind of ducats anyway. The sheer size of the phantasmagoria of pyrotechnics here keeps me from kicking it down to the single star cellar here but Phantom Fireworks really is more like phantom deals. And there's certainly better deals and better service at XL Fireworks on 15 Mile. Phantom was woefully understaffed both times I bought fireworks there, with employees sporting dead tired looking eyes pleading HELP ME! and only one register open with a long and slow moving line on my second visit. The gregarious guy at XL came up to me and asked me what I was looking for. At Phantom there might have been one or two workers posted up in the aisles but they were always attending to packs of pyros with others hanging around the periphery ready to bombard them with their questions next. Best to help myself I figured. Seeing similar gripes in other reviews I'm reminded of that old Yogi Berra line "Nobody goes there anymore, it's too crowded. " And the thing is it's not even that crowded; understaffing just makes it seem that way. Forget Phantom's b.s. two for one "sale prices". Go find everyday low prices elsewhere.

I've never been a dog owner and the girls missed a sign when they entered the park so they were shocked when the man ran up to them screaming, "What is wrong with you? Why would you bring a dog in here? Are you stupid? Can you not read the sign?!" The girls and the puppy were shocked, scared and confused; they told the man they hadn't seen a sign and were leaving but he kept screaming at them that he was going to call the police and have them ticketed and arrested for breaking the law. I'm absolutely disgusted this would happen, for two girls to be verbally attacked and insulted over an honest mistake is sickening. Back in my day a simple "excuse me young ladies but there is a sign out front stating dogs are not permitted" would have sufficed.

When we walked in, it was super quiet and cute. They have a little table with puzzles and another area with different rocks and fossils. They have tons of turtles to look at as well. They have a play center with a table too. You can do some bird watching in the chairs by the window. This is a perfect spot for toddlers because it is safe and enclosed. My kids did pretty good.

We grabbed some carry out from Trizest and picked this park since it's close by and there are several picnic tables, even a sheltered area and a nice walking path up and around the hill. The top of the hill is a great spot to sit and watch the sunset. The walking path around the park is pretty decent as far as length goes. There's also a little playground for kids, a baseball diamond and other recreational areas of the park. There are several different areas to park as well. During the pandemic it's a great spot to get some carry out and have an ad hoc picnic with your family and friends. There's some volleyball games going on tonight as well. It's great to have a little picnic at one of the tables and then go for a walk after dinner. We then stick around to watch the sunset up on the hill.

This year they fenced off Fort Fraser & some punk pooped on the ramp leading up to Fort Fraser, I hope the people in charge keep a closer eye on that next year. One last note to organizers of this event, the bounce house is always an activity the kids look forward to, and its nice that its free of charge. If you can't offer the bounce house free of charge, please.....just don't do it. It was sad to see a bounce house charging admission and no kids playing on it.
