I have been a client of Pro Fitness Network - owner Carina for more than a year. I consider Carina as an integral part of my "wellness" team. She is fabulous and versatile. Her personal training is really targeted to my needs and she is always coming up with something new. She is extremely knowledgeable and very attuned to her clients form, breathing and overall health. At least once week, I get a massage after my workout. The massage therapists are great about explaining everything they are doing and why. The way they stretch and work my muscles is like a mini workout, and for days afterward I can feel the difference because all the stress and strain isn't just temporarily relieved but eliminated. If you want a therapeutic massage and not one of those dainty frou-frou massages, there is no one better. I have recommended them to all of my friends!

[[This review--my FIRST ever Yelp review--is for Julie, my Pilates instructor!]] I have been going to Pro Fitness for about one year, doing Pilates Group sessions with Julie. This is a huge deal for me because I spend most of my time either eating junk food while watching tv, or trying to convince myself to work out while moping around in gym clothes (and then failing). After about 10 minutes on a treadmill, I usually want to explode from boredom. Julie, however, makes 6am workouts (6 AM!!) not only bearable, but fun too! Every class, Julie changes up the exercises and the piece of equipment (Reformer, Cadillac, the Chair, or a Mat workout) you work on so you will never get bored; and once you learn the basics and can get through them without dyingggg, she comes up with more and more difficult exercises to keep challenging you. She was always there earlier, ready to go, with a big smile to greet my eyes-half-closed-6am-face; and as a trainer, she was always really nice, encouraging, and tailored the workout to what suited you (e.g. being conscious of any personal injuries, helping you stretch out if you are sore, what kind of music you like). She even managed to find ways for me to work out when I was stuck in this ridiculously huge arm sling post-shoulder surgery! In her day-to-day life, Julie is also a really health-conscious person, so feel free to ask her for any yummy (but also healthy) recipes or advice on diet and/or working out. [[Review of Pro Fitness Network:]] The location itself isn't big, but isn't crowded at all, which only means class sizes will never get crazy full and are at most 4 people/session (for Pilates, at least). There are two parts to PFN--one unit where they do massages, kettle bell workouts, personal training, and a whole bunch more (can't remember them all), and another unit in the same plaza that is dedicated to Pilates. There's a parking lot for that plaza, so there was always plenty of parking when I was there. For a 3 person Pilates session, it's $30/session in 10 session packages. $150 for 3 introductory personal sessions (new customers).

Life is all about pushing limits (even into your 70's/80's and beyond) and I've been super impressed with Eric's care, motivation and individually crafted plans for each of them. She has so much knowledge and is very caring and supportive. The class was with 6 individuals with very different stages of fitness journey and needs. (Some have bad shoulders, injured body parts etc.) Tracey gave everybody with very customized, individual cues and progression/regression, and I am amazed how she helped everyone to push just right amount so that everyone can get good workout while not injuring themselves. The whole class flow was amazingly choreographed with proper techniques and hands-on adjustments. I am at the phase to undo my bad habits and correct my alignments deviations. Without me communicating verbally, Tracey understood my intentions and guided me through the whole class. She gave me so many aha moments and I finally found some of my muscle groups firing which I haven't felt for years. She has such a sweet, nurturing personality, and it was such a pleasant and fun experience to move in her class! Highly highly recommend to anybody - from a person who has never taken a Pilates class, or recovering from injuries, to a Pilates enthusiast looking for learning from an instructor at the mastery level of arts of Pilates.

I went to this place because my doctors recommended me to have a physical therapy session, but they…read moredidn't ask me to bring my doctor note. So they let me signed up and I had Chris Mallett worked with me. He firstly told me that if I don't have doctors note he can't really do much, then I said I am very close by, I can go home and grab it for him. He immediately told me that he is leaving soon. The front desk told me it's about one hour session, but Chris seems to be in a rush, he didn't have patience with me. He said even though if I leave the office now, they are going to charge me. I was very upset, I did not get informed that I should bring the doctors note, also he didn't do anything with me yet. When I got home, I did some research about his name and the history of this place, it seems like Chris and his wife are both the owners and they live in South Pasadena. But how rude he treated me today, I was speechless! I told the front desk that I did not get treated by the therapist and I am not going to pay for this visit. She seems to be understanding. I hope I haven't been charged for this unpleasant visit. As I live very close by, I also signed up all the paperwork and my credit card information, so I think I will come again to see another therapist in April anyways, at least I can have a better judgment of this place after I get my next appointment.

My whole life I have really struggled with being happy in my own skin. In about 8 weeks, Ben took me from being uncomfortable taking my shirt off to me lounging around completely confident in myself. He gave me a full meal plan, taught me about the food I was eating, walked me through the nutrition and exercise program, and checked in with me regularly to not only make sure I was on track--but that I was happy. When my gym was operational, I was lifting MAYBE 3 times a week, then it closed and we switched to doing at home workouts with hardly any equipment. Even with the switch, the body fat was sliding off. I became comfortable and excited that people wanted to touch my stomach--or should I say my abs! I am beyond grateful to this man and have referred him to everyone I know that: struggles with their weight, confidence, and strength. Many coaches narrow down on a specialty--strength, weight loss, physical therapy--Ben's specialty is the human body in general. Ben is definitely the best personal trainer I've come across. I'll list out all the benefits first…read more 1. He knows his anatomy and biomechanics down cold. He will make sure you have the mobility to get the movement down and if you tell him something didn't feel right he'll adjust the workout on the spot. It's pretty impressive. 2. He's up to date on his biochemistry when it comes to diet advice. I'm a former scientist and in the beginning would challenge him on his knowledge...but he really knows what he's talking about. No bro science. 3. When I did get injured (unrelated accident) he already knew all the exercises my PT taught me and made it really easy to heal. I wouldn't have made the recovery progress I did without him. 4. He's humble, funny, and positive. I always feel comfortable around him. He listens to feedback and won't push you at the wrong times. I've had bad trainers that think this is bootcamp and they're the drill sergeants. It goes without saying that you'll make a lot of progress working with Ben but the real edge he has over everyone is his expansive body of knowledge. I really can't recommend him enough.
