His skill set is next-level -- Deep Tissue, Neuromuscular work, and Myofascial Release are clearly his specialties. He's knowledgeable, intentional, and incredibly intuitive in his approach. I was searching for just the lumbar traction therapy for my lower back pain at a reasonable price (typically insurance doesn't cover traction therapy) and I found it with Mission Chiropractic. Dr. Charlene didn't try to pressure me on doing other services like other Chiropractic places. She was fantastic to work with and really cared about my well being. After about 8 sessions, my lower back pain improved. Other symptoms like numbness in my calf and tingling in my ankle subsided. So much to say ! I'll try to be concise. Been in low back pain for 12 years. Sometimes I couldn't get out of bed. It affected my relationships, my passion for surfing and Terrible mood. Last fall, I ended up in the ER with severe head and ear pain that was affecting my ability to swallow. Traditional tests showed nothing, so I turned to chiropractic care. Charlene was phenomenal. She found pressure points that directly correlated to the pain I was feeling. She used ice therapy and adjustments, along with the pressure points, and slowly, I started to really feel better. I am so happy and grateful to have met Chris F., one of the massage therapists at Mission Chiropractic. The work he has done on my back has truly been life changing and he has done what I thought was impossible. About 10 years ago, I suffered a back injury (that resulted from a number of different factors). One day something got tweaked in my lower right back and I had tremendous nerve pain going down my back. Having never experienced this before, I just waited for it to heal itself but it slowly got worse and worse. And in fact, my back started to get "uneven," causing other issues, because the other side was compensating for the pain on the right side. I eventually attempted to treat the injury and tried all sorts of things (and spent a LOT of money). I tried massages, chiropractors, acupuncture, physical therapy, yoga, working out and doing exercises, compression shirts, etc... some of these did made my back feel better for a few days or helped me manage my pain, but the pain was always there. Having tried all these, I had accepted the fact that I would have to live with this pain for the rest of my life. Then one fateful day, my back was flaring up again and I looked for a local place to get some massage therapy. I called up Mission Chiropractic and Chris happened to have some time that afternoon. Immediately, I could tell that the work Chris was doing was different and special, and that he might actually be able to FIX my back. Chris does not just give a "standard" massage that you may get at one of the many massage places or spas. He doesn't provide a one-size-fits-all routine. He will spend the time to understand what exactly you are feeling and create a plan to treat that pain. Using his extensive knowledge of the human body and all its muscles, ligaments, etc., Chris hones in on your specific problem area(s) and communicates with you throughout the session so that your issues are fully addressed. Chris also provides guidance on how you can prevent the pain from coming back. We spent time talking about the types of movements and actions that I was doing each day - we identified what exactly was causing my issues and he recommended solutions for how I could avoid these aggravating/perpetuating factors in the future and exercises I could do at home. Obviously, I went back for more sessions with Chris and soon after, my original back pain was GONE! And most importantly, it stayed that way and I am still pain free almost half a year later. Ive been to a number of chiropractors over the years. Ive had some great results and some less great. Too bad I didnt know about Chiropractic BioPhysics (CBP) earlier. Having learned of this approach from a friend I looked for someone near me in NELA. I lucked out when I found Dr Charlene! Dr Lohmueller's warm demeanor out me at ease right away. Her approach to chiropractic care (in my case) incorporates this easy rapport with precise adjustments and postural correction. On her suggestion I added several deep tissue massage sessions (there are several massage therapists available) to the adjustments and postural correction. The results have been amazing. I am a bodywork therapist and have worked with/been to many a chiropractor, so I am familiar with assessing who is really helping me and who is just trying swim in my pockets for as long as possible. I must say that I am quite impressed with Dr. Charlene Lohmueller at Mission Chiropractic -- she is the real deal! The location is great, there is plenty of parking, which I love (being from San Francisco and all), it's a great space and all the paint, equipment and furnishings are new and modern -- very clean. What I am most impressed with is Dr. Lohmueller's approach to patient-care. She is absolutely the most THOROUGH practitioner of any kind that I've ever seen. She didn't rush me, and she asked several times if I had questions. She was had fantastic bed-side manner: professional, down-to-earth, just real person -- thank God she wasn't the used car salesman type chiropractor I've encountered before. She gave me several affordable treatment options and didn't try to force me into some 1,000 visit treatment plan. I really appreciated her honesty; she wasn't there to try to make me think I had the spine of quasimoto, she told me I generally had a very healthy spine as she went through a detailed explanation of my x-rays. The facility has traction devices which are really helpful, and I love that Dr. Lohmueller is more than just a snap, crackle, pop chiropractor, though I was impressed by her adjustments as well. She did soft tissue work on me, used a neck orthotic to help put some curvature into my stick of a spine, and she pushes on and stretches other areas to see what else might be adhered/tight. After just 2 sessions with her I am already feeling better, and I really trust her -- that is really important to me as someone who uses my body for my job constantly. I've been to many Doctors and Therapists for back and muscle injuries in the past, but I'd never been to a Chiropractic. I was impressed with Dr. Lohmueller's thorough evaluation which she administered with patience and an attention to detail. She listened to my long history of injuries and treatments and applied the relevant parts to my diagnosis. I was nervous about chiropractic adjustment. I went to Dr. Lohmueller because I needed spinal decompression from a herniated disc. I had called several offices in SoCal and her prices were the most reasonable, and she seemed to be the most warm and knowledgeable when I spoke to her over the phone. During the first exam, she was very thorough and took the time to explain to me, using plastic spine models, what was going on with my back. She also explained to me the purpose of some of the orthopedic tests she did and I found all of the information very informative. In the end, I did 12 visits of decompression and my sciatica is now gone. Spinal decompression was really helpful and the price was good too. read more

My review is based solely on my experience with Mission Chiropractic Works. A couple weeks ago, I called to make an appointment with chiropractor because I was having lower back pain. I was surprised when I made my first appointment that I was asked for my credit card up front and not my insurance information. I thought that was odd, Doctors generally don't ask for credit cards up front. I would have liked to have had my insurance verified or been informed about contacting my insurance regarding my benefits. During my first session, I got an assessment and x-rays, no treatment. Dr. Lohmueller charged my credit card instead of going through my insurance. At the second appointment, I was told to contact my insurance myself to find out about insurance coverage. I wish I would have been told about this before hand. I found out that this chiropractor was not part of the in network chiropractors covered by my insurance. Fortunately, I was not able to continue treatment with this chiropractor. I cannot rate the treatment with this chiropractor, just my first impression. read more

I was in a car accident this year and was referred to mission chiropractics works by my chiropractor to receive x-rays. Receiving x-rays at mission chiropractic works was a breeze. There was no wait time, the x-rays were taken efficiently, professionally, and a radiologist report was given the same day. After getting my second Covid vaccine I got brave enough to walk into Mission Chiropractic. I filled an on line form and was surprised when the owner, Charlene, called me the next day. She assured me that they had were not just a Chiropractic center but offered quality massages also. I met ,Warren, and spent time answering his questions. He is a big guy and very smart. I had so many issues (like not being able to lay face down) and he was patient and kind. Sure I skipped massage for two years . Yes I have had body work done by famous therapists. Upon my first visit, Charlene reviewed my MRI results and began her process of understanding my pain. She explained to me, in detail, what my situation truly meant for me, her methodology in assessing and treating pain and showed me a handful of medical infographics she has posted on her Pinterest page, to ensure I had a visual of what she was explaining. Dr. Charlene is a GREAT chiropractor, I always loved seeing her for an adjustment, maybe because it's so much more: She is very thorough and caring, and is holistic, not just focused on cracking your spine, but taking care of your whole body, which includes talking about nutrition too. Earlier this year I began to experience severe lower back pain that also caused pain when I walked. My good friend Cindy Gomez had been working as a neuromuscular massage therapist at Mission Chiropractic Works and I thought I would rather see what she could do to help me rather than take Advil and hope for the best. I texted her that I was in a lot of pain and she made an appointment for me. I loved the feel of Mission Chiropractic as soon as I walked in. Calm, clean with a sense of peacefulness and a very caring vibe was what greeted me. Cindy worked on my back that day and two times after that. I had known that Cindy was specialized in neuromuscular massage but experiencing the treatment myself really gave me an appreciation for her skills. Especially when I had truly been in pain before I went. After having neuromuscular massage and getting 3 treatments with the "hot rock" I have had little to no pain since. (Hot rock treatment is heaven). Cindy's treatments really move the muscles around and work out the tightness. I can strongly recommend her because I have experienced the treatments and benefited from Cindy'si skill in neuromuscular massage. I also decided to meet with Dr Charlene Lohmueller. She took X-rays and asked me several questions regarding my pain and made some good suggestions as to what I could do to go along with the neuromuscular massage treatment. I went back a couple of weeks later and Charlene explained the x-rays and gave me an adjustment. I have to say that after the adjustment and the massage therapy I have been completely pain free for several months. I first met Charlene as I was trying to find a suitable treatment to an incredibly painful and ongoing pinched nerve in my neck, which severely restricted movement and caused me to have to spend my day with my arm above my head...for more than 3 months! Unreal. Charlene was the person who correctly diagnosed me, was incredibly (underlined) knowledgable about my condition, and was not afraid to treat it. Sounds strange, but I experienced much resistance and 'doom and gloom' from other Dr's I had seen. An mri revealed bone spurs as the culprit, and Charlene's care has always been top notch, relieving pain and generally improving my disc space in the neck through decompression, which is key for my condition. I can now move through my day with my arms at my side, imagine that! Its hard to find a good chiropractor, and there are so many in the greater LA area that the task of finding one can be dizzying. I have visited several and been disappointed with treatment frequently. Not the case with Charlene, the space is beautiful and open, the treatment is spot on, and she also knows more about muscle systems than most of the massage therapists I have been to. My back was killing me after my daughter broke her arm and was in the hospital for 2 nights. I was so focused on taking care of her, that I didn't take care of myself. Anyway, a co-worker recommended that I see a chiropractor. I saw Dr. Charlene. After my first appointment, I felt instantly better - not 100%, but much, much better. She sent me home with instructions on how often to ice and how to pick up my daughter without whacking my back.
