I was going to purchase a Byrna non lethal pistol and went into their little shooting booth. Shot 3 or 4 times and asked for more to try, He said that is all he's allowed to let me try. I've spent Thousands of dollars there and 3 shots was not enough to see if I wanted to make this purchase. I just left. I'll probably go to the Boise location to purchase since he didn't really seem to care about my purchase. I'm looking at purchasing several items in the Bryan line of products.

When it was my turn, I told them my last name and indicated order-pickup. I was told the items hadn't been pulled yet. Counter person said it can sometimes take 5-6 hours, or even a few days, to get online order items pulled and ready. I asked if I could just go get the items myself from the shelves, come back, match them up against my email-received receipt, and take them with me? Nope. Can't do that. Said I would have to go home, cancel the order online, and drive back to the store. I wasn't going to do that. Asked them if they could just cancel the order here at the checkout counter? Nope, can't do that. Said they could give me the 1-800 number to call to cancel the order, which I called, from the parking-lot. Operator said she would submit the cancellation, but that it could take 2-3 business days to process. All of this was utterly obtuse and inconvenient. When getting home, I found that the website doesn't allow cancellation of an order online anyway. The final insult? When I returned home I received an email that my order was ready for pickup. So much wrong with this. Never again, Sportsman's. Long time customer who now will not spend another dime with you. The logistics were inefficient enough, but it was the we-don't-care attitude that was acute.

Lemme tell you! Ok so REI is obviously a great store. There are some things about them I can't…read morestand..:like when they get involved in political crap. That ruins the vibe for me for any business. It's still a great store, but people need to shut up with getting involved in anything that has absolutely nothing to do with sporting goods, outdoor activities etc or whatever their business is. REI is crazy expensive tho! Ooooh! So Al's just opened. I was sad to see the trampoline park close and leave. Sports Authority was at this location at one time too. Mittens was on the board, soooo...ahhh! Never mind lol. They closed. Sad. Anyway, finally a store goes in there. Obviously we are talking about AL's. This store is fantastic. I know it's going to be pricey eventually, but when we went in, the sales they were having were amazing. They had great prices on almost everything. With Christmas coming up, too, I'm sure their sales will once again be epic. They have all kinds of top brands. North Face, Patagonia, etc. Any place that carries Patagonia is ok in my book...even if Patagonia is another company that gets too political way too often. They make great jackets tho. I've had my R3 for like 17 years and still looks new. So walking into Al's and seeing they sell Pats, made me happy. Pats in general are very expensive. So if they happen to have these on sale, don't hesitant to pick one up. Same goes for a lot of the other name brands they have here. Great store for hunters, for anyone who loves kayaking, paddle boarding, hiking, I mean, it's just a great store. I'm usually iffy on these chain stores, but I think this one is mainly specific to this area of the country, PNW, and obviously Utah and ugh, I'm sure California as well..at least Northern California? Who knows. Most people I know have already been. My hunter friends are in love with this place. They have gotten some insane deals here. However, if you haven't been, you definitely need to check it out...especially now that the Christmas season is like a day away from officially beginning. No, it doesn't start the day after Halloween lol. We got a few things here when we went. One thing was a flashlight. There was a guy in that section, wish I remembered his name. His main job is he's a fireman. I remember at least that much. This guy was such a great help. Knew the products well, super friendly, perfect teeth haha, and I mean, he was fun to look at. Sorry, had to throw that last bit in haha, because shiiiieeeet! Hahaha! Super nice guy. Everyone we came across that works there was great and eager to help. I hope this place succeeds. That spot it's in is a weird one. It seems to do good elsewhere and with Boise being a huge outdoor city, I can't see this place actually failing. I can only see it flourish and I hope it does. Check it out. Thanks for reading, YelperAl's!! Cheers!

I called Austin (I live in Oregon and have to travel a few hours to get to location) and told him my issues with the shoes I had. I was hesitant to ask for help, but Austin reassured me that they would help me fix my problem with my current shoes. I ended up getting two new pairs of shoes (different brand, of course) and two pairs of insoles. Timothy, the salesman who helped me this time, he did the new computer measuring of my feet and discovered I needed a different size than previously thought. Timothy was exceedingly patient as I tried on several boxes of shoes. I'm so happy that I called in to ask for help. Austin & Timothy solved my problem. I am a very happy customer. Highly recommend this location.

Buddy of mine had some black Nikes on recently. My roommates pointed out that he really liked them. Asked my buddy where he got them, he said Nike at the Village. So the roommate and I ventured out to Nike at the Village. They still had the sneakers. Roommate didn't like them in person lol. He tried on several other pairs tho and in the end, couldn't decide on a pair. That's fine. I ALMOST bought a pair of gym shorts, but they didn't have any other color in this style other than red. That's fine. Shawn. Shawn is the incredible employee who helped us. He immediately came up to us like 2 seconds after we walked in. Quite a difference from my Foot Locker experience (that review is posted). Shawn just moved here from California, but we won't hold that against him, haha! He was great! Truly went above and beyond to help my roommate. Was super patient with us, with anyone who asked for his help. He is super friendly, super accommodating, and if someone annoys him (don't know if that's possible tbh), you'd never know. He seems to truly love working with the public. As someone who has worked retail and did so for many years, it's a tough industry to be in...especially with how entitled people are! And these days! Hard pass. Shawn tho, as mentioned he seems to truly love it. He's only been in the Boise area for a couple months and glad he's here. He is the type of person that makes this city better and certainly the type of guy that makes going to Nike..and enjoyable experience. He's a good dude. They're lucky to have him. Other employees I spoke to..super nice as well. One guy came up to me to say hi to my dog. This guy was soooo nice! Wish I got his name. It's always fun to see how people are around dogs :) I mentioned above that I've never owned a pair of Nikes, but if they had the right pair, I'd buy from this store. It was a better experience than expected. BUSY. AS. HELL tho lol. Memorial Day weekend plus it's in Meridian. Anything at the Village is always a madhouse. I like my sneakers to be bright AFFF! I'm so bored with black, blue, gray sneakers. So I started switching it up. Nike seems to regularly put out bright a_s sneakers lol. I just haven't found the style I like. When that happens tho, if they have it at this store, that'll probably be my first pair of Nikes lol. Whoever runs this store, is great at it. They hire the perfect people. Everyone there was so nice and welcoming and thanked you as you walked out. Foot Locker (see review if interested) they, all FIVE of them were in a huddle, goofing around watching their phones. Truly like night and day. I live in Boise and never went to Nike. Glad I finally went. It was worth it. Nike, good job hiring Shawn! He's a keeper. Thanks, YelpNikeees!! Cheers!
