This place is CLUTCHHH. Especially if you have an older gm or something. My key for my 1990 Chevy 1500 was getting the bend in it and I went in there and they hooked me up with 2 new keys for like 8 dollars in total. Employees were super nice and fast, literally was in and out in probably less than 10 mins. Was recommended to go here from one of the guys at NAPA and I'm glad I took his recommendation. Gonna put a solid in for these folks. Way better service than you'll get at Home Depot or elsewhere, and an impossibly complete supply of key blanks of all kinds. I needed a key fob made for my car. I called and got a quote from Ed. I also happened to call Ace to get a quote from them as well so I had 2 bids. Ed's cost was much more reasonable. After several calls and visits to other locksmiths, Ed correctly diagnosed the problem with my vehicle -- without seeing it. (It was two hours away and unstartable.) He told me how to fix it myself with the proper tools, and patiently guided me through the process. Why would anyone go to a different locksmith? Our car key stopped working and i called and spoke to someone here that gave me a quote and an eta. (Piece needed to come in, in order for them to fix it). Called July 5th and 3 WEEKS later they still have NOT fixed it. I've been the ONLY one calling them to get any updates and they always told me that they'd come that day when i did call them. I understand being a small business and being swamped but we live right behind the business and it's been a ridiculously amount of time and ZERO attempts to update me. I just want to talk to them, but they won't answer their 24/7 phone line. It just hangs up on me after a couple minutes of ringing. I'm gonna just take my bike over there tomorrow to see what they can do. But for a 24 hour locksmith, they are really falling short on their end of that claim. read more

This is a great business. I've been there a few times for various lock related needs. One time I came there with my vehicle and he came right out and solved my problem. Another time I came in to have him re-key a new vehicle lock, he looked at the old one and said "Its just the tumbler is broken" . So instead of $75 for the new one, he charged $25 to fix the old one. Honest and fair would be the words I'd use. read more

I sent my Son to them so they could help with a truck hitch where he lost the keys. I called him later he said they did a fantasic job..and they went out of their way to help him..and he was so pleased with the service. I have used them for my personal lock services, and everytime I go there they are very friendly and nice. Also they have a Mobile Service. But most important is they know the lock business. I live up north in Phoenix, but I drive over 30-minutes to get there. Why? They are the best and their prices are very fair. I have Locksmiths by my home 10 minutes away and If call with my questions it seems they are more concerned with how much money they are going to charge me. Despite the previous bad reviews regarding this place, I decided to stop in and have a key made figuring I'd give them and chance and the fact that this was very close to my location. Alas I was disappointed when the lights were off and the door was locked at 11am on Tuesday. The posted hours clearly indicated that they should be open. No key for me! read more

Local business with local employees. The gentleman at the counter was DEFINITELY hard of hearing, which made me laugh. I got 2 keys copied for just 4 bucks!!! He showed me their versions of my key, and was polite.... I just had to be super loud so he could hear... Again. COMICAL. But He did his job well. I'm not happy to write this review, but I think it's important others know. We brought a Baldwin outdoor lock to Prolock for repair. It would lock, but not unlock, or unlock but not lock. We left the lock to be repaired. Subsequent calls to the owner let us know that he was waiting on parts. Finally, the parts arrived and the lock repaired. We were told it was ready for pickup. I sent my daughter down to get it and pay the bill, almost $40. Maybe it was foolish of me not to ensure the repair had actually been made, but I did not. I trusted them. A few days later, my husband went to reinstall the lock at our tenant's property and realized the lock didn't work. I suppose he could have pulled it out, gone back to pro lock showed them, gotten back our money, but the tenant wanted something in the space and decided since there was a deadbolt a non-working handle was fine. So - I am unable to recommend this store. They took weeks with our lock, told us it was repair, collected money for fixing it, and had not repaired it. The owner was nice the times I spoke with him, but he either does not know what is going on in his store, or he does not know what it means to repair a lock. read more

I have to say I'm surprised they are still in Buisness as they are so rude and unprofessional. Asked about having a key cut and when quoted a price I questioned why was it so high as the last time I was there it was $12 now it's $44 and he went off on me and told me go get it somewhere else and was laughing it off like some kind of clown. I will never go back there ever again and recommend anybody else to look else where. read more

AVOID this one! We have a hope chest and lost the key, so I took a picture of the lock, next to a ruler (for scale), and stopped into Pro-Lock & Safe to see if they might be able to help me find a replacement key. I was fully aware of the challenge of finding a good key, but perhaps an expert-- along with the photo and description of the missing key-- would bring some luck. The employee seemed impatient and condescending about my lack of specifics. I know I didn't have specifics and understood why this wasn't simple, but he crossed the line while he got more frustrated and started calling me "sweetie" and "sweetheart" in an even more condescending tone. I'm in my 40's, not that it should matter. Then, as he went into the back room, he asked me the size of the square end of the key. I looked at the photo and said, "About one centimeter." He responded that he "deals in inches, not centimeters." I was fuming mad after that inappropriate comment. He came out of the back room with a key...an old furniture key. I said, "How much?" He replied, with a pause, "Umm...$6." As offensive as he was, I bought the key with hopes it could work and make this offensive customer service experience into a worthwhile story. Well, the key from this extraordinarily rude locksmith store employee did NOT work. I went to Rockler, where a carpentry expert offered a furniture key-- without calling me "sweetie" or talking about him dealing with "inches." The key from Rockler works. While I don't at all blame Pro-Lock & Safe the key not working, their manner of speaking to a customer was beyond offensive. read more

I needed a spring for an interior door knob. I took the broken spring to Pro-Lock for a replacement. The clerk said he needed to know the brand of the lock in order to "save time" looking for it. So I went home, got the info, and returned. He then said he had told me to bring the whole lock in, which is not what he said. Other than the brand name, there was no other information on the set. So he went into the back room and came out with a part nothing like the spring I needed. He said that was all he had for that brand. What a waste of time and gas. The last time I needed a part like this I went to a locksmith who had a bunch of similar springs, and simply compared with what I brought in. I guess I have to buck the traffic to go back to that shop. read more

This company really let me down. On Black Friday 2016 I needed copies of a key made, Home Depot and other did not have the blank. I called to verify what time they closed, I was told they closed at 3pm. I stated that I would arrive before 3pm. When I arrived at 2:30pm they were closed. I called their phone number, no answer, no oppurtunity to leave a message. I called the 24 hour "emergency" number. No answer, no opportunity to leave a message. So, I had to spend fhe next 30 minutes calling other locksmiths. Now I have to drive to Glendale to see if I can get to a locksmith there before they close. Really dissapointed. read more

I had been all over trying to get a key made to fit my custom door locks.(all the usuals like Home depot, Lowes, Ace etc...) no one could make a key that actually WORKED due to some special configurations and age of the home door lock. We were all set to go camping for a few day with our Travel Trailer and I went to put one more item in it and found that the dead bolt lock would not open. We called Pro-Lock and they said to come bring it over and they would take care of it right away. He was able to use some tools to pull the lock out and discover that 2 screws had backed out. So there was no need for a new lock. One hour and $28 later we were on the road. We are happy customers due to fast service and being honest about not needing to replace the lock. read more
