We've had our son (now almost 5) enrolled at Pro Martial Arts for several months now and I can't say enough good things about them. When I started my research, I was kind of turned off by the "warrior" approach that some other places touted. We were just looking for a structured environment to help our son improve his focus, and confidence, while hopefully finding something he enjoyed being a part of. I can honestly say "mission accomplished". You really just have to come check it out for yourself to see if it's the right fit for your family. Luckily, Pro Martial Arts realizes this and offers 2 free classes for friends to come give it a shot. It's just a great, physical activity with lots of extra (wonderful) benefits. I was looking for a place that my son would enjoy being a part of. He really needed to work on his focus. Pro Martial Arts offered exactly what we were looking for, and more! We are going on the third week of classes and I've already seen so much improvement in my son's confidence, effort, respect, accountability and his motivation! The instructors are awesome and incorporate instruction with physical activity. The students are learning and moving the entire time. I especially love that their home and school responsibilities are a part of earning recognition in class. It keeps my son motivated to always be doing better and finding meaningful ways to help out. Armor class is a bonus that teaches bullying prevention and predator awareness. The staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. They have an open door policy which is perfect for me and all of my questions, lol! read more

We enrolled our son at PRO Martial Arts (PMA) not only for the physical activity, but to build is confidence. Our son was an easy target in middle school. He was much shorter than most of the students, and traditional athletics didn't interest him. All things considered,we wanted him to get involved in something. He was picked on so much he began to hate school. He was afraid to defend himself because he didn't know how. When we first joined the PMA family, they explained how the ARMOR program, combined with regular classes, would be a great fit for him. It provided him with both physical and mental exercise, in a place where he was encouraged and appreciated. The instructors taught him discipline and self-defense techniques. The ARMOR program has given him confidence and the ability to defend himself in a safe social setting. Last year, our son was dealing with a relentless bully who spent weeks verbally threatening and teasing him. He did not engage in the verbal abuse, but instead walked away and involved school officials. The abuse then moved off school grounds and turned into physical threats (tapping our son on the head or pushing him about). One day while he was walking home from school with friends, the bully became more physical and hit our son in the face. Due to months of self-defense practices at PRO Martial Arts, our son was able to physically defend himself just enough to get out of the situation. Though the bully continued with verbal teasing for a short while after this incident, it did eventually stop and we like to think it's because he knows our son is prepared to defend himself. Today, our is a part of the PMA Leadership Program and is learning sparing techniques. We are elated to see his confidence and abilities grow stronger each day. Due to the increased confidence, he is now trying out for school plays and auditioned for (and made) the schools show choir group. He would have never had the confidence to get on stage in the past. With respect to the martial arts, for him, it is not about learning how to fight. It's about learning how to protect yourself whenever necessary. We are proud to be a part of the PMA family. We are so thankful to the staff for their support, guidance and continued motivation to help our son grow into a better person. read more

Great experience thus far. Our 4 year old son has been going for several months now and always has a good time. He loves the routines that the staff comes up with (they are always very entertaining) but more importantly, he has learned good form and discipline. Finding a professional staff that really understands what kids need to grow is very hard to come by. Highly recommended. read more

My 6 year old daughter who has been ice skating ever since she was 3 decided she wanted to try something new. After attending 2 birthday parties at Pro Martial Arts, she was adamant about taking karate classes. We have a few friends who have children that are enrolled at PMA and they all had very positive things to say about the instructors, the classes/lessons and overall experiences. We decided to give it a try with the original plan of taking the first few classes that they offer for free to see how our daughter liked it.. Needless to say, after the first class, she was hooked and we went ahead and signed her up to be a regular student in the program. The excitement that KC has when she knows that it is a class day or when she gets to tell someone that she is taking karate classes is amazing to watch as a parent. The discipline and respect that is expected of them during the class times has carried over into every day life. We, thankfully, don't have behavior problems with our daughter, but what we have noticed is that she is more inclined to offer help with house hold chores, the pets in our home, her little brother and elsewhere. She knows that when she does this, she will get to fill in a block on her self discipline card. IT has been 3 months since KC began at PMA and she is so excited to be able to test for the next level belt - she has worked hard and as a parent I am very proud of her regardless of the outcome. The instructors are amazing and Mr. Chavez is excellent with the students. WE look forward to watching our daughter grow within the Pro Martial Arts community. read more
