I joined my Father-In-Law here for a workout while on vacation, and it was just what I wanted and needed! Soldier Fit provided a well rounded strength and cardio workout. Having grown up in a military family, I enjoyed seeing how they incorporate that into each workout as you "fall in line" and have a battle buddy you pair up with (in this case, my Army veteran Father-In-Law)! Everyone was so supportive as we worked through each round. The leader was motivating and encouraging throughout the whole workout. More than just a gym , Soldierfit Frederick is an elite transformation facility. I joined in September 2024 out of shape and in need of guidance to get healthy. I wasn't sure what to expect of myself at 51. I committed to myself to be consistent and the trainers and nutritional coaches met me where I was and guided me to where I want to be. This business is a money grab. The management seems disinterested in running it anymore and have moved on. And the trainers have gotten worse over the years ( I've been going here since 2017) , which reminds me, during covid they continued to bill everyone, even tho no one could go to the gym. Extremely expensive for such a small amount. They have the smallest weight room you have probably ever seen and the classes/trainers have gotten progressively worse over the years. They screw you over every chance they get and claim "family" as they steal your hard earned money. I would absolutely not recommend soldierfit to anyone unless you like giving away your money. I told Andrew that I was struggling financially to afford this gym and that I needed to cancel my membership. What does Andrew do you might ask? He bills me the following month my $80 membership fee. I have no respect for anyone who works for this place. (I was a member for over a year) To make things even worse they continued to bill people during Covid even when the building was closed. The exercises are motivational and so far I have returned twice a week for a month. I had to give Soldier Fit 2 stars for the simple fact that they sent me an email to tell me my account had been deactivated, as a result of my contract coming to an end, but they still charged my account for the monthly dues! When I called to inquire about the charge, I was informed that I have to come in to speak with a manager, complete the cancellation form, and wait 30 days for it to process. Keep in mind this isn't a national company...it's a small town, family-owned, small business...making it a painful process for no reason. read more

I would absolutely give this 0 stars if I could. I feel as though I have been tricked and manipulated into continuing with my membership here, when I haven't gone once in more than a year. I went in and spoke with Kyle about 7 months ago at this point attempting to cancel my membership. He decided to take up WAY more of my time, give me a tour, and attempt to lower the price to keep me. When I continued to say "no, thanks" he then decided to put my account on "freeze" for 6 months so I would have to come out AGAIN to fill out the paperwork and officially cancel my membership. When the time came to cancel my membership, I was given the runaround by Kyle and his gang. I informed him that I would not be coming back out there since I had taken the time to do so 6 months before and my wishes were not respected then. I asked for the paperwork to be emailed to me, I would fill it out and email it back. I gave Kyle over a week to email the paperwork and it was no nowhere to be found in my email- despite what Kyle says. He then emailed it again while we were on the phone together, I filled it out and emailed it back 3 days later. I was STILL CHARGED for the next month. When I contacted Kyle again, he informed me that I took too long to get the paperwork back to them. Dissatisfied does not even begin to cover what I am feeling with the customer service and this company in general. I will NEVER recommend this gym to anyone I know, and will be posting about my dissatisfaction everywhere I can so no one else has to go through what I did to simply cancel my membership. Bill is by far my favorite trainer. I would only go to his classes if I could. My schedule no longer works for me to go there but that doesn't mean they aren't great and i wish it was close to my work so i could go back ! I met Danny at a UFC fight night at B-dubs...he really seems to believe in his program and the confidence he displays in how his program is run really impressed me. A very down to earth guy, I would've never guessed he was CEO! So far, everything I've attended has been top notch and the pricing is worth the 3-tier program of MMA, gym, and Bootcamp. I waited to leave a review until after my first month at soldierfit frederick. I toured a bunch of gyms in the area and I told myself the first gym that treated me like an individual, I would join. From your trial class you get to have a full body assesement, which tells you basically everything about your body (which you get to do every 30 days). It is crazy everything that this machine picks up on. Then you get to discuss the results with the staff and talk about what your goals are. It is not a one size fits all and they never treat it that way. No one told me to lose weight or gain weight, they asked me what my goal was and put together a plan based on that. I have been attending bootcamp classes just about 5 days a week since I signed up and it has been awesome! Classes really are for anyone and for all different levels of fitness, there is never a moment where I have been yelled at or shamed for not being able to do something and I have never seen that happen to anyone else in the gym. I think I have had every instructor they have there at this point and every single one is awesome in their own way. You can let them know about any injuries or things you have a hard time with and they will make sure you have alternatives. You also get an MPE where a trainer accesses your movements and shows you things in the gym area you can do to meet your goal. I think you get one of those every 90 days. I have noticed in just one month improvements in my stamina, strength, my body and my mind. I really love going there and it has exceeded all my expectations I had in a gym. Pricing is super fair and they have enough options to choose from without being too complicated. If you are thinking about joining I suggest doing the trial, its so much more then them dropping you off in a class and asking "how was it" afterwards. read more

I really can't say enough good things about this place. The experience of the BF and myself is thus: with everything going on the world today I was feeling a little scared about being able to take care of myself or being able to help someone else in need effectively so I told the BF I wanted to take Martial Arts classes and he found Soldierfit. I (because I'm cheap LOL) found a Groupon and we proceeded to visit. Wow. Aimee Doyle showed us around and introduced us to Zach Davis, our Personal Defense and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu instructor. They let us borrow gis until we decided whether or not we wanted to join and we never felt pressured by Kyle or any other member of their staff. Zach's enthusiasm was contagious and his endless patience with us "newbies" was much appreciated. Needless to say we signed the contract for $129 a month and to make it count we attend PDS and BJJ classes twice to three times weekly, along with using their gym to lift weights twice weekly and attend stretching classes on Sundays. So it costs us about 5.37 per class. SO WORTH IT. Now if you're not that committed...We ended up switching to going in the mornings because I got a new job and we LOVE working with Duane. Again, endless patience with the newbies, and when you are working out with a higher belt that could easily kick your a** the vibe there is one of "Here, let me show you this," instead of just pummeling you into paste. We've met a lot of really nice people and will definitely keep up with it, and have started studying, practicing and watching videos to help ourselves. Like anything else it's a Commitment with a capital C, something I'm learning every day. Right along with Embrace the Suck. If you don't know what that means, start studying BJJ with Duane and Zach. I can't speak to these reviews that claim deceptive practices, etc., I can only speak to my own experience with SF and the BF and I are very happy with who we are becoming. read more

I was very worried my first day here. I had read tons of reviews saying "everyone is so nice and helpful" and I was thinking "yeah right" But seriously they are so sweet. As you walk in everyone you pass will say hello, on your first day you get a tour, and Kyle the manager tries his best to accommodate your needs. I guess I was lucky, but a fellow troop member took me under her wing to show me how the classes work. If there was a downside I would say that your first class is a little confusing if you are new, but what class isn't? The instructors look after everyone and recommend modifications for excersizes if you don't think you can do it the regular way. I thought this would be embarrassing but they show the whole class instead of singling people out they just shout out "If you need a modification this is how you'll do it" and they will do the modification them self. After my first workout I over did it. Even though i had my own water, a couple of people, without me having to ask, bought me gatorades and wrote me encouraging notes. Everyone here is great and I strongly suggest people coming here for exercise or just to get a little more active. You get a free tee shirt when you sign up that you wear to class too! read more
