Rather than engaging in a respectful conversation or offering clarification, the provider canceled my appointment without discussion and left a voicemail stating that I was "triggering" her. In subsequent written communication, she suggested I seek clinical counseling and implied that I was not "sound and secure" or sufficiently aware of the "rules of touch." I found this response deeply unprofessional and dismissive, particularly given that I was attempting to clarify boundaries and ensure mutual comfort and safety. I was not asking for emotional support or therapy--only clarification of her intake form. Ultimately, the appointment was canceled without dialogue, and I was directed to seek a refund elsewhere. While a provider has the right to decline clients, the lack of professionalism, empathy, and basic communication in this situation was disappointing and concerning. From the moment I arrived, the experience was unprofessional. Vivian showed up late, and while she initially seemed kind, things quickly took a turn. During what was supposed to be a relaxing prenatal massage, she repeatedly made personal and judgmental comments about my body, my personality, and even my family. She framed these comments as "medical assessments," but they felt degrading and completely inappropriate. Throughout the appointment, I was in a very vulnerable position pregnant, alone, and undressed while being questioned about deeply personal topics, including my mother and father. When I answered her questions generally she then told me she could tell I was lying because my body told her otherwise. When I didn't engage the way she wanted, her behavior became increasingly hostile. At one point, she stopped the massage entirely, saying my "energy was off" and that she needed a break. She was evil and clenching her teeth while talking to me. As much as I wanted to leave I felt trapped there alone with no clothes and no one around. I answered all of her questions and she just kept making snarky comments and assuming things about me and talking about energy. I'm not the kind of person who likes to share things about my personal life or talk about my issues with my massage therapist. I was simply just trying to enjoy a massage and prepare for my baby. She later abruptly ended the session, told me I was "banned," and yelled at me for not engaging in conversation. To make matters worse, she refused to accept my Groupon and charged my card $135 without proper authorization after the experience was cut short. I left in tears, feeling violated, disrespected, and completely taken advantage of. Another client who witnessed part of the situation even chose to leave instead of going through with her appointment. I reported this to Groupon and am seeking a full refund. No one especially a pregnant woman seeking care should ever be treated this way. I strongly urge others to avoid this place and Vivian at all costs. She is unprofessional, degrading, and a scammer! I should not have been charged an additional $135 after she totally humiliated me for over an hour. Vivian told me that I need to "speak up for myself" well here it is. I don't need you to respond to me here. All I need you to know is that you should feel ashamed for how you treated me and I hope you treat others better.
