Let me first start with a more positive note. Zac the store manager is really good with customer…read moreservice and outstanding people skills. The first time I came in here for my appointment, the receptionist couldn't find my insurance plan despite the fact that I came in with a photocopy of the insurance card. Before coming into the store, I checked with our insurance provider if they are in network and was also able to confirm that they are in network. The receptionist is as helpful as a wet noodle. Instead of trying to find a way to assist me, she just stopped making the effort. So I called the insurance provider while I still inside that vicinity. I don't want to go running around again because it's already a waste of my time. I spoke with customer service and I got the lady to talk to this receptionist. And voila! She suddenly found me in the system. She said that I should've said Spectera. It's like d'oh, UHC is the service provider through their Spectera program. I got the paper, all she has to do is confirm by calling in the insurance to sort out any confusion, but like I said, wet noodle. Then my husband went in for his schedule, he encountered the same problem, they couldn't find him in the system despite the fact that he also brought with him the photocopy of the paper that shows his member ID numbers. He was so frustrated and came out mad as hell because he felt that he was facing a major and immovable boulder. It was the same receptionist who I encountered in my first visit. Wet noodle. Too lazy and very incompetent, rude person who shouldn't be working as a frontline. Doesn't know jack diddly squat and just rely on what her system will spit out instead of searching for the information. In my succeeding visit, I guess I was a glutton for punishment so I came back for more. But because Zac gave a positive experience during my first visit, it's not all that bad, so when I came in again to get prescription sunglasses Amber was the lady who took care of it and assisted me for my needs. She also gave me positive experience. Same problem, she couldn't find me in the system and even Zac stepped in to help out so I once again called customer service and we managed to sort it out. Amber helped me choose which frame works well with the shape of my face so I'm pretty happy. Now today, my husband came in for his appointment because I managed to convince him that it wasn't all that bad. First thing that we faced again is this receptionist who seemed so incapable of doing her job right. I told her that we have the same insurance ID number since I'm on my husband's insurance and I said I'm already in the system. Her curt and rude answer is that each patient have different authorization number. She was asking for our member insurance number and I told her it's the same, the least she could've done is to look up the number in their system. So I don't understand the correlation between authorization number and the insurance ID number. When you walk into any medical provider, they always asked for your member ID and not authorization number. And if you don't have the member ID, they can look you up in their system through your name, birthdate, or your social security. This receptionist needs to be trained on how to do her job right. Or she was probably trained but is just too lazy. Now on my rating, I will rate it based on the following criteria: Facility cleanliness: 5 Selection of items: 4 Service provider frontline service: 1 Customer counter frontline service: 5 Note: I separated the customer service from store front customer service and service provider customer service to give credit where credit is due and help potential customer be ready what to expect when you get to see your eye exam schedule.

The day of the appointment we entered and the eye glass staff members were having very loud personal conversations for all to hear. This created an unprofessional environment and a poor first impression of the facility. As we went back the eye staff member was not friendly, didn't smile once, was not friendly/warm towards my child, did not seem happy to be there, and seemed annoyed anytime I asked questions about tests that they wanted to run. We were then led to a patient room where we waited for awhile. As we were waiting to be seen, I could overhear more personal conversations being had by the medical eye staff. Finally the doctor enters the room and I asked if she had a chance to review my child's eye history beforehand. She stated no and looked at my child's chart and said that they've never received them. I said I was told you had them. She stated who told you that? I told her the front desk staff, she stated that they in fact did not have them. A professional company would've followed up with myself and/or the other doctor if they had not received them prior to the appt for a new patient. During the appt, a front desk staff knocked on the door and entered the room; we were basically pushed out. I have never been at a medical appointment where a front desk staff entered a patient room while being seen by a doctor/medical staff. As we were checking out they attempted to charge me over $200. Luckily, I have prior knowledge and questioned this. The front desk attendant was unable to answer my questions about the charges. Another staff member had to step in. They stated the doctor billed/coded it wrong. Not my issue! Then my bill magically went to zero. Save yourself the time, money, and headache. Staff is unprofessional and will try to overcharge and do not have adequate knowledge on eye billing. Only positive were the two friendly check in ladies.

Perfect Why? To walk in the secure, cool, climate-controlled Colonial Park Mall. Although Colonial Park Mall is a dead mall, it is alive with the few remaining stores and the mall walkers. The selection of stores is minimal, but people still shop, though not in large numbers. The mall office is open, and the custodial staff still keep the mall clean. They open the mall doors at 10:00 am, even though most stores open at 11:00 am. A reminder about the selection of stores: Boscov's, T-Mobile, Modest Muslim Men's and Women's Stores, a Dollar store, a shoe store, cleaners/tailor, Kay Jewelers, self-serve kiosk machines, two nail shops, and Osaka, one food court restaurant.

It is an empty, echoing chamber of dusty vaults that once held great names and popular brands that drew hundreds of shoppers per day. This once proud social hub would be horrifyingly quiet if not for the pop music piped into the empty spaces, the upbeat sounds distorting as they echo off the tile and concrete surfaces, blending the sing-song melody of a angelic spirit into a lost soul fighting its final descent into madness. Yes, the Colonial Park Mall is dead, but remains haunted, one might say possessed by a small community of vendors peddling curious wares and sinister services. And also cell phone stores. You would be forgiven to think the random, lone stranger walking by is the spirit of a former shopper who once used the mall for their daily walk and expired near the old Radio Shack and now doomed to tour its remains for all eternity. The mall is policed by cemetery watchmen, glassy-eyed custodians ready to expel loiterers and those without a shopping agenda. They wander through the ruins left behind by pretzel makers and shoe stores and clothiers and other shoe stores and Hickory Farms and even more shoe stores. And they converge every hour at an empty center court where children once gathered as a wise and cheerful Santa Claus would grant audiences and wishes from 10 to 11 and again from 1 to 3 on Saturdays during the holidays. Gone are the mallrats, their socializing now digital. Gone are the great savings events and sports memorabilia shows and special musical guests. Gone are the anchor stores like Sears and Bon Ton. Only Boscov's survives to give this empty space meaning. The mall itself is a parasite grafted to its flank. Come and peer into the past as thoughts of the post-apoclaypse rise from the vibe. To stand inside this dying space is to know the meaning of loneliness. To step beyond the threshold of the jubilant Shoe Carnival is to be stripped of all joy and hope.
