Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

I called the Colorado Springs Roto-Rooter office last night when I had a plumbing emergency. My…read morewater conditioner had sprung a leak and the plumbers who had installed it were not returning my calls. The Roto-Rooter dispatcher was professional and prompt, and after confirming the details of my issue, was able to schedule a plumber to visit my home the very next day. First thing in the morning Caleb the plumber was at my door and ready to get to work. We were so pleased with Caleb's work on our issue that we also opened a new ticket to have him do some other plumbing repairs in our house. Now we are not only on the way to resolving our original issue, but also got some less important plumbing work done and out of the way. Caleb even worked with the manufacturer of our water conditioner to diagnose the underlying issue. Caleb went above and beyond, and is one of the most competent and professional plumbers I've ever worked with. I've been a home owner for a long time, and I only very rarely deal with anyone this dependable.

The good: someone did show up that day. The bad: it took over 2.5 hours for them to show up, not less than 1 as the call center (and confirmation text) said. The terrible: the technician said it would cost $800 if the toilet was installed, but since I already had the toilet off, it would "only" cost $540. Only?! That's an outrageous price for snaking a single line. I won't be back.

Never in my life have I been taken advantage of by a company like this. I had a huge leak in my house while I was gone. Unfortunately, it flooded my entire crawlspace. I call Ryan for a quote to see how much it'll cost me. He asked me what the square footage of my crawlspace is, and I gave him the numbers. He quotes me a price of $850.00 and says he can take care of it. Next day, he comes over and says he can get it done quick. Which considering my foundation is falling apart due to the water flow that makes me happy to hear. The entire workday went by they maybe moved a foot and some change of water out of my crawlspace. They used two very slow-moving pumps. They also had the option of a 75-gallon water tank to fill up in their truck but that was a lot of work to use. Nearing the end of the day, seeing that not much progress was made Ryan told his two workers to rent a water pump from a tool store. They bring it over with not even an hour left in the workday. The two guys try to figure out how to work it, but they weren't sure. Having a construction management background, I showed them how to work it. They didn't know that it had to be primed with water. I HAD TO SHOW THEM, what an unprepared company. Nearing the end of the day I asked Ryan what he's charging for coming back tomorrow and he told me 150 dollars an hour. I'm a blue-collar worker in the fiber lineman industry, we work hard every day bringing fiber to rural communities. I did not see hard workers in this company. I come back to my house next day and about one foot of water soaked into the ground under my foundation. My heart sank immediately. After renting my own water pump, I get it done in half a day. The next day, Ryan calls me asking to pay the 850.00. Now, after reading all that tell me... Does this company deserve 850.00 dollars? I feel scammed, in this economy life is hard enough. I should've just flushed 850 down the toilet, it would've been the same thing. Infact, if I had done it myself less water would've sunk into my foundational ground. This all being said, Tanner and Lucas were really good people. I was not treated bad by anybody at any point.
