Was quoted $11k to replace an existing air conditioner that had a leaky pan. The unit was quoted at $2000 and labor at $9000! There was almost no description of what the labor was for and when I asked i was told by sales they just deliver the quote not the price. Obviously they didn't want the job. read more

He went above and beyond, even repairing two ducts that had come loose from the floor when we had new carpeting installed in one of our rooms. Now, I want to fully recommend Pro-Tech for their excellent air conditioning installation service. We just had six Carrier mini-splits installed throughout our house, and Billy and Franky's (the installers) work was flawless. They installed the equipment and piping as only well-trained professionals could. I'm so glad I found this company, I had two others come out unprepared with a tall enough ladder after I told them they would need a minimum of a 30 footer. Fernando and his helper Tyler showed up on time, were very professional, very friendly, and had the right ladder for the job. The problem was quickly diagnosed, they went off to the local parts house, and had us up and running in no time. I have a rental house. My tenant works for an HVAC company and informed me that the unit was emitting carbon monoxide and that it had a hairline crack and would need to be replaced to the tune of 7k. Needless to say, I told them not to operate the HVAC and paid for space heaters. I called Pro Tech for a second opinion and was informed that the unit was perfectly fine and functioning. My tenant was trying to scam me. Former tenant. Pro-Tech did some maintenance and my total bill was a little above $500. I now need to have my air ducts cleaned as my former tenant smoked in the non-smoking house for three years. I am calling Pro Tech tomorrow. This business is honest and trustworthy and I highly recommend them to anyone who needs ANY services they offer. read more

I used Pro Tech to install my ductless A/C and heating system a year ago. The estimator showed up - on time - and spent plenty of time discussing my needs and asking questions before recommending a system and giving me a fair bid for the work. The installers showed up - on time - and did a professional job over the two days there were here. They cleaned up after themselves and made me feel good about having them in my home. Recently the compressor unit needed service due to a faulty computer board, and they were on it. Had the part Fed-Exed and returned promptly to do the repair, once again, on time. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!!! Not only do I have an AC unit that cost me almost $4,000 that is still not functional after a year and a half, but the staff is rude and confrontational every time I've called about it. I've literally never had an experience with a business that is as bad as the experience I've had with this company, and I'm about to contact the Better Business Bureau to investigate. Just called Carrier and they agreed that the way I was treated by this company was not right, and they will investigate further, as this company is an authorized dealer with them. Pro-tech's sales person represented to me that the process of having electrical installed with a new AC would be easy and although they don't do the electrical install themselves, they would have an electrician they work with a lot come out to do the electrical while they were in the process of installing the AC. They did not recommend having an electrical estimate done before the AC install, because the sales person was confident that the electrical would come in at around the range of $200-$400, which I was fine with. Fast-forward to when I've signed the contract with them, they've mostly installed the AC, and they have their electrician out and his estimate is over $700. I tell them that wasn't the verbal agreement that we had when I agreed to the install, and they launch into a bunch of excuses about how they don't control what the electrician charges, and it was up to me to get the estimate ahead of time. If that was the case, then why did your sales person NOT recommend that to me in the first place? Why did he confidently tell me a price range and get me to sign the contract before I found this out? I feel like they were dishonest and I got screwed, and because most of this was verbal discussions and agreements with their sales person, I don't know how much proof I'm going be able to provide to anyone I'm going to try to have investigate. However, at one point the sales person did at least feel bad enough to offer me a wifi thermostat (that I don't want or need) because he at least kind of admitted that he had done wrong, but other than that, they've been nothing but hostile to me every time I've called to try to resolve this matter. I'm writing this review because I'm exhausted, spending time each week for over a year contacting electricians and trying to figure out how to get this AC working, and this company does not stand behind their word or their work. I'm only hoping that I can discourage anyone reading this from getting themselves into a similar situation. If nothing else, know that whatever their contract says they don't do, you need to get an estimate for BEFORE you sign their contract and they start doing the work. You CANNOT trust what they say without getting those estimates. Oh, and by the way, while they were doing the work, the workers would often leave at lunch time and say they'd be back in 30 minutes, and then not come back till the next day. That's really frustrating when you're someone who works and needs to plan meetings and be places, and they ended up finishing the job behind schedule and actually were rude to me when I told them I wasn't available on the day they wanted to come back because THEIR workers disappeared for the rest of the days they originally said they'd be there and have the work done. Pretty much the only good thing I can say about them is that the furnace and water heater they installed have been working fine for the past year and a half (which is apparently more than can be said for a lot of companies in this town, according to friends). Santa Fe needs some better plumbing, heating, and air companies, for sure! (I'm porting the review I originally posted on Google over to Yelp because I tend to trust Yelp more, personally, when I'm looking for companies to use for various services... I honestly don't understand how this awful company has 131 5-star reviews on Google. That's what convinced me to use them in the first place, so I'm hoping that putting this review on Yelp will help inform others about who these guys really are!) read more

We had Pro-Tech out yesterday to perform an inspection of our heating and a/c systems. We had not used them before and were looking for a company to do yearly check-ups and a go to for unexpected repairs. The tech they sent, Bradley, is the best tech I think we have ever had...be in many years in the Bay Area and many in Phoenix. He was very knowledgable, spent a good amount of time doing the inspection, cleaning and evaluating vs in a hurry to get to the next job and having to come back to redo the quick job. I don't know if all their techs are as thorough and informative as Bradley, but if you are looking for pro....try Pro-Tech. read more

Terrible! I called and made an appointment. I scheduled my day to be home for the appointment only to be called an hour before that the serviceman would not be able to show up. I did not receive the call so I was waiting and finally called them only to find out I would not be getting any service. They said I could get service next week. My central air conditioning unit broke down and I called three different companies to come out to repair it. The technician from the first company, TLC, showed up with no testing equipment or tools. He inspected the wiring and told me that the wires were burned. He said it would be a huge job to replace the wiring and that I should just replace the entire central air unit. He told me he would send me a quote and left. The next day a technician from the second company, Road Runner, also showed up with no tools or testing equipment. He told me that to replace the wiring, parts would be necessary that are no longer available. He also told me that I would need to replace the entire central air unit and left to prepare a quote. Two days later I received a quote for $6,904. Then a technician from ProTech, Tommy, came over to inspect the unit. Tommy DID bring testing equipment and tools with him. He thoroughly checked everything and told me he was going out to his truck to get some wire. I was very surprised, he was actually going to try to fix it as I had requested of all the technicians who came over. It wasn't long before I heard the air conditioner turn on and it started blowing cold air. Tommy was the only technician who was honest enough and capable enough to repair the problem rather than try to sell me a very expensive new system. The charge was $153.88. Tommy had saved me over $6,700. I was blown away! Thank you ProTech and thank you Tommy. 5 stars for you! read more
