After my couch had an unfortunate encounter with a full bottle of grapeseed oil at the hands of my bored three year old, I knew it was time to call someone to come clean it. There are (fairly strong) limits to my do-it-yourself spirit, and this was beyond that. Pro-Tech's employee showed up on time, managed not to laugh at the extent of the mess, and cleaned the main couch and the little kids' couch (because that, of course, had been oiled as well) very thoroughly. They said to call them back if any more oil rose up (because it had been thoroughly soaked and some might linger in the depths of the cushion), but the job they did was amazing and it didn't come to that. We contacted Pro-Tech to get help cleaning our wood floors. Due to improper care our floors had lost their shiny finish. We had made the mistake of trying to used waxes and floor polishes which made things worse...resulting in waxy globules and a dirty/hazy appearing floor. We were very worried that we would have to get the whole thing refinished. Fortunately we contacted Chris who was able to clean our floor and replace the top coat of the polyurethane finish for a fraction of the cost of completely refinishing the floor. Our kitten made a urinary pit stop (or 4) on our leather couch during her litter box training, and Pro-Tech was able to completely remove the odor and much of the stain. They also re-conditioned the whole couch, and the leather looks better than it has in years. We recently moved into a nice '50's ranch house with hardwood floors throughout most of it. The floors were dirty and most likely had never been refinished. I got several quotes for cleaning and buffing and for refinishing. Based on Chris' bid, enthusiastic personality and the reviews on Yelp we decided to use his company. We decided on getting them refinshed vs cleaned and Chris promised me they would look fantastic and that they would take care of all of the dusting and cleaning from the sanding. These guys did a wonderful job. The floors are beautiful, we love them. As promised the dust was near non-existant. They moved our furniture for us and nothing was damaged. I did have to have the crew come back for some touch up painting of our baseboard. They were prompt about coming back to make it right. Excellent service and a great price. They refinished our maple floors over the weekend and did a fantastic job. They had to do a large amount of sanding as the previous owners were trash and gouged the floors. The floors were perfect, except to small spots where the finish was ruffled. I mentioned them and they came that evening and fixed them right away. They were always right on time, and very courteous. And no dust! They cleaned everything up. My neighbor referred me to Pro-Tech, after he had great results and service, and I'm glad he did. I found Chris to be highly professional, clear in his communication, accurate in his cost estimate and timely in keeping the appointments. I had gotten printer ink into my beige carpet, a whole trail of it across my office, and though I'd gotten much of it out, it was still clearly stained and hideous. Chris was able to improve the stains significantly, with 2+ hours of hard work. He told me to let it dry and to evaluate it the following day and call him if I wanted him to come back for a 2nd visit. I was happily surprised to learn that once I paid him for the 1st visit, any further visits would be free, and the work was guaranteed. So. I hosted a party at my house the other week and we had the hot tub running and the libations a-flowin' and it was a grand ol' time. Surprisingly, my friends are not as big of raging alcoholics as I assumed and the mess was really self-contained. An easy 2 hour clean up. However, one of my friends passed out on the couch with hot tub damped pants. Keep in mind this couch belongs to my roommate who was *convinced* he peed himself and completely ruined the couch. Both my boyfriend and I examined the couch and found no pee smell at all, just dampness and B.O. So, me being practical and reasonable I offered to get it professionally clean because A) it would take a LOT of piss to completely ruin a couch and B) because after I asked my friend if he had let the gas tank loose on my roomies couch and he said no (BTW, this friend is someone I both work with, adore and trust) I wasn't going to go beyond spending $125 to get it cleaned because there was no pee pee on there. I called Chris up and explained the situation and he explained he specializes in microfibers and urine and that it would take about an hour and a half and be ready for use about 2 hours after. Perfect. The couch and the room smelled AMAZING afterward and I got the satisfaction of telling my now ex-roomie that she was wrong. I don't hate to say I told you so, I LOVE telling you so. My boyfriend also said Chris was very attractive which I dunno, maybe that's something you look for in someone that cleans your carpet HEYOOOOOOO. read more
