My old 25 year old cement driveway was stained, cracked, and puddled like crazy after any rain, and joints were missing mastic and had hollowed out with toads living inside. His team did the demo work and installed the pavers in just a few days for a pretty large driveway. They were good about cleaning up on a daily basis and the pricing was competitive. The result is incredible. RcTex also made sure to slope the driveway as I asked to avoid puddling and also installed a parking pad with retaining wall for my other car that doesn't fit into the garage. After a substantial amount of time, Macario showed up to pick up his equipment. I confronted him about why the job wasn't finished. He informed me that the general contractor wasn't paying him. I offered to pay him, so he finished the job the next day. 2nd job: Same exact thing as the first job. I wasn't sure who to fault, me or him, for using the general contractor. Macario does great work and is inexpensive. He put in a drain when he poured one of my concrete pads near the hot tub that works great! I would suggest contacting him directly. I'm a tough critic with contractors. Detail-oriented, a bit of a perfectionist, and probably not…read morethe easiest homeowner to work with. So I don't say this lightly: Laguna Landscaping is by far the best contractor I've ever worked with. We've now used them at two houses. After getting a pool built by a different company, we brought them in to redo all of our landscaping, and working with Frank has been seamless. It was a large project and every detail was accounted for. With all contracting projects there are minor mistakes and oversights, because as the homeowner I know exactly what I envisioned and they're juggling three or four jobs. When our pool was being built by Denali Pools, I felt like I had to project manage every step. Laguna was the polar opposite. The team was always happy, always polite, even waved when you saw them. Frank turned up after we'd finalized the designs and suggested an extra planter and a tweak to the paving stones, both better than what we'd planned. When something wasn't right, there was no defensiveness. It's a large project, we expect a few tweaks. For example, the wrong lights got installed along the pathway. I contacted Frank and it wasn't a debate, it was "we'll change them." Then he came back and told me the lights I described were different from the original plan, he checked that I actually wanted spotlights, and confirmed before ordering. He listened to what I'd asked for over the original plan. The communication was on point. Every question got answered, and his suggestions were consistently better than anything I'd anticipated. Little things too, like laying drop cloths after the pool work so nobody trailed dirt through the yard. That care shows in the output and along the way. Laguna also does regular yard maintenance, and after this experience we're moving all our ongoing landscaping to them. My one hesitation going in was cost. This isn't a cheap project and Laguna isn't a cheap company. However, they are worth every dollar. At our previous house we'd had a cheaper company build a retaining wall, and Laguna had to come fix it. The quality, the detail, the thinking outside the box, the double-checking before they order anything, it's incredible. Next level service, next level professionalism, next level care. I'd recommend them to anyone, always. If there was a rating higher than 5 stars I would give it to them.

One was privacy, on front, ours was iron on front and it's about an acre the had to fence off on 3 sides with chain link & the other neighbor only had the posts put in because our ground apparently is not made of dirt, just rock and unlike us, that neighbor has some great carpentry skills. We also had several stone columns. The masonry guys came on the date scheduled & on time. We were amazed at how quickly they went up. Employees were very nice & gave us our privacy. No slacking off. Very respectful. It was near the holidays so it took a little while before the front went up. went But they also had to order additional parts for a change our neighbor made. They came earlier than scheduled. Those employees were also great. Never saw them even turn to look at our home as they walked back and forth through the back (our many windows have no curtains). They came on time, never saw them slack off. I don't think I even saw them leave for lunch. When they were done for the day, they cleaned up. The foreman even noticed some materials we didn't order that would help keep the fence from moving around. So it was ordered & they installed same day. Not only that, the only winter day we had in texas happened to be the last day they had to finish. He asked if they coukd work on sunday & we said of course. But he told us they might wait until winter was over, on Monday. But the next day on Sunday, when it was crazy cold, they showed up and by the end of the day they were done! Foreman came to ask if it was all good. And then they left on their merry way. Our emails with questions were answered promptly and usually the same day. The fence looked great. A couple weeks later, maybe earlier, we received another email to check in on us & find out if there was anything that we needed. Highly recommend.

I'm writing this review for my overall experience dealing with Northwest Fence & Iron and not for…read morethe finished product. Everything went fairly smoothly up until the day of the installation of my iron fence surrounding my home. A few days prior to the scheduled installation, I asked the representative if there would be someone supervising the installation who speaks fluent English. He said there wouldn't be anyone supervising because his wife was scheduled to go into labor on that day. He reassured me there would be no issues and the workers would know EXACTLY what they needed to do. I reiterated to him how important it is they install the iron fence low enough to prevent my dog from digging a hole escaping. I reluctantly agreed to proceed with the installation based on his reassurances. The day of the installation, the workers showed up at my door and the first thing one of the workers did was hand me a cell ph and someone with Northwest told me, "Can you tell them where to install the fence" I told him I already went over all this with my rep and I do not feel confident communicating with workers who do not speak English. I ended the call and immediately called the rep and told him that someone needs to get down here and communicate everything we had already went over. The rep came down and told the workers where to install everything. I asked him who I should contact at the office if there is a problem and reminded him what he told me about the workers knowing exactly what they need to do. He responded by saying, "I thought it wasn't an issue to you that they don't speak English?" This was NOT what I stated and told him I only agreed to allow the installation to proceed because of his reassurance they would not need any additional guidance during the installation. Sure enough, after they got started prepping the ground and installing the fence, the gate was being installed too high, leaving a large gap at the bottom, and I tried to communicate this with the workers with no luck. I told the workers to stop completely and, at this point, I was really starting to lose my patience. I immediately called the Northwest office and told them the fence was being installed too high from the ground and how they needed to send someone over immediately or I would be sending the workers away for the day. They sent someone down about 30 minutes later and he communicated with the workers, the proper way to install the fence. I asked the supervisor to stick around to ensure there were no more issues. They 'completed' the installation and they had forgotten to attach adhesive to the caps on the fence posts as well as failing to install the latch on the side gate. They had to return two separate times, requiring me to take time out of my day to be here, to complete the gate lock installation and attach the caps properly. I also started finding pieces of sharp metal in my lawn they failed to clean up which posed a major safety hazard for our family and dog. All of this nonsense could have been avoided if the representative assigned to my project would have scheduled the installation at a time when he could have been present to supervise and inspect the work being done by the subcontractors they hired...
