So I know that many people have posted bad/terrible reviews of Probe Market but I didn't have any negative experiences with them so I'm not sure what to make of it. I signed up for Probe Market years ago and receive an invitation once every couple of months or so. I always fill out the surveys but don't really expect much because I rarely qualify. Up until the point of this review I had never qualified for a single Probe Market research study but I don't feel resentful about it; that's just the reality. I received an email a little over a week ago from JT@probemarket.com that looked like it could have easily been spam. I always receive their emails from lynette@probemarket.com so this new email address raised some flags. After doing some research I determined that the email address was indeed legit but the formatting of the email was kinda quirky to say the least. I submitted my info without expecting too much but, surprisingly, I received a call from JT a couple of days later to confirm my participation. Basically, at the time I had been called they had already filled the slots for the online interview but needed a backup person to participate in case the initial participant didn't show. JT explained the "floater" process to me and told me that I would receive $175 for my time. I gladly agreed and filled out all the necessary paperwork to participate. When the day came all I had to do was sign into webex and sit around for a phone call to let me know whether or not the participant had showed. I was actually a floater for two different sessions so in total I had to be logged in for a little over three hours. This was totally fine with me because I was working on other things the entire time. When the session was done I logged out and didn't think of it again because, based on all the other reviews, I assumed I wouldn't receive my incentive for at least another two months. Well, I received my incentive this morning via email. I was given the choice of receiving a physical debit card or a digital one. I opted for the digital one and immediately bought an Amazon gift card for the total amount because I was planning on buying something anyway. So, what can I say, I had an excellent experience and have no problems with them whatsoever. A lot of these other reviewers seem to be people who have attitudes that make other people not want to deal with them. Just be friendly and cordial, and don't be pushy, and you'll get your reward. Also, JT is great at small talk! He genuinely seemed interested in how my life was going during the pandemic. If I had one recommendation it would be to improve their email formatting because it really looks like a spam email. Wow. I'm reading these reviews and thinking that maybe the West Coast branch has been poorly run or else people are just unrealistic? I've done studies for Probe Market/Lynette for several years. They're in NY, I'm in NY; they're always in a hurry fielding a ton of gigs from a bunch of different clients; I understand. No recruiter can be held completely responsible for their clients' texting behavior, whatnot. Payment in 4-6 weeks seems reasonable, since there's a lot of paperwork to be done, and payments transferred from the client before checks cut to us participants. I've never not been paid. Why all the fuss? This week I showed up for a health study and the client, a big NY digital firm, wanted me to sign away the marketing/promotional rights to my voice/image/interview forever, with no control. They also flat-out lied and said the form doesn't matter, but then ushered me out without pay when I asked them to amend it so it wouldn't violate HIPAA, which is federal law governing health privacy. I informed Lynette and she asked me if I'd been paid (no). She then said she would ask the client to pay me, and by the end of the next day, she emailed me to say I would get full payment and the check would be sent out in two days. Appreciate that. I wrote Lynette a thank you note for standing up for me; she said statistically they send out over 1000 checks a month so sometimes they get a bad rap, which is why I looked up the Yelp reviews. All I can say is, I have had no problems with Probe Market at all. It's a fast-moving business doing a ton of projects simultaneously. Like most of NY, can be brusque at times but efficient as hell. Last week I participated in a study that turned out being very relevant to me. The questions had me thinking about how to mmaybe start recording my Journey with Hereditary Transthyrithan Amyloidosis as I move from circumstance to circumstance. The moderator was so professional as I was answering and moving onto the next question.. There was definitely a flow. The survey ended with all their questions asked an answered. The honorarium was needed and came prior to the expected/promised delivery date. It was a pleasure to be part of the survey and look forward to another survey opportunity . I had a very nice experience doing a virtual research study with this company. They promptly answered any questions I had before the virtual portion of the study began, and gave me all the related information I would need to signing into the study. They even sent me a 'tech check' about two weeks before so I was sure to have the working software on my computer beforehand. They were very professional and signing into the study was super easy for this non-techie person who has only done a few virtual Zoom-like meetings. The Moderators were very thorough, polite, and professional. The study went quickly, and it was fun to participate. I would definitely recommend this company, and would be happy to participate in more virtual studies if I were to be selected. read more

I just finished my first study with Probe market Research. I wore a couple of Apple Watch and checked my blood pressure twice a day for 30 days. I gotta be honest I wasn't sure what to expect but they were really on top of it. I did have a problem trying to get it to sync with the watches and they were able to fix it within 30 minutes of me, sending a emai. Always gave me a heads up if something was gonna happen like we had to switch the watches once in the study and they notified me days before to make sure I knew. I just thought the overall experience was very professional and very easy and I'd be more than willing to do studies with them. That's for sure. The story is too long to tell but in short, they were weird and racist. I wasn't even going to leave a review but I had such an unpleasant experience I had to. Edit: A project manager just called me after reading my review (10:32am EST on 7/19/21) and asked me to take it down. I refused and he told me he would flag my review and make sure I never participate in any studies with them again. PEAK WHITE SUPREMACY! Using your position to try to coerce someone into doing something is peak privilege and it's disgusting! If that manager is reading this update, just know this new America is tired of your racism and your bullshit. I've done several studies with them, and every single time the experience was excellent. From the concise, informative communication, to the friendly and accommodating approach, working with them has been nothing short of amazing and the process is always incredibly smooth. Your incentive payment always comes very quickly after the study, sometimes even the same day. Another great thing is that they *really* value your time, and if you give them commitment for a certain day and they have to cancel the study last minute for whatever reason that day, you'll still get paid. I did the research study with Probe. I had a FANTASTIC experience with them before, during, and after the study. They were on time, courteous, and professional. They gave me the money that they had promised. We had a choice of a virtual card or an actual visa card. I chose the actual card which we can use everywhere. The entire team treated me equally with the others. I am a member of a minority group and I did NOT experience any type of racism from this group whatsoever! I was contacted by Probe Research to participate in a study about finances and investing. Interestingly, my wife and I had just had a conversation about investing. Timing was perfect. The moderator was very professional and I was able to explain my answers and take my time with the questions. I felt like I was able to express my opinion w/o judgement at all. I was also paid for my time within 3 days of completion of the study. This was great. Zach kept my informed of the payment and made himself available if there were any issues (there were none). Teresa in the office, who was very nice as well, called me about my interest in the study and I accepted. The moderator during the market research session was very patience with me because I was the only one providing feedback, which made it seem more like a private interview. And if mistakes are made which we aren't human if we don't make mistakes they know how to rectify it but basically I find them to be very easy to work with. I was compensated for a research study on vaccine purchasing. Every person I dealt with through scheduling, the study itself, and regarding compensation was professional and courteous. I would absolutely work with them again. For those complaining about payment options- I was offered the option of a check in the mail or a physical Visa card vs having a card emailed to me. i have had the opportunity to do two studies and everyone is very efficient, helpful and responsive. I also love how they handle time switches or making sure COVID standards are met. My only complaint is their payment partner. It takes a while to get paid if doing gift card by mail not 7-10 as expressed in the form. Which is very frustrating.I'm still waiting for a card from 2 months ago. Other than that I love doing business with them. The transparency and honesty and workers are amazing. read more
