I was just passing through the area on the way back home, and had a minor issue with my good old Honda Civic--a panel on the underside of the car had come loose some, which was making an intermittent scraping noise--unnerving if you are 300 miles from home and going down the Interstate at 70 MPH. The folks at Probilt popped it back and place and put some bolts and a zip tie to keep it there, it only took a few minutes, and they literally didn't charge me anything at all! HUGE shoutout for Probilt in Jeffersonville today. After 2 failed local Ford dealer debacles, they easily diagnosed a major issue and fixed it. Three hours, two new belts, and some skinned knuckles, and all at the $200 mark.... would've been insanely expensive at Ford. Bonus- Probilt found loose shocks & struts recently installed by Byerly Ford- yes, loose as in all the bolts were hand tight. I will ONLY use Probilt from now on! read more

I am currently an Army civilian with an old Jeep Cherokee that stalled. I called Probilt in Jeffersonville and low and behold someone always answered the phone--that is usually a good sign. Damon, the manager, took care to listen and respond to the symptoms of the automobile. Today's autos are way to f'ing complicated. Damon called the next day with an estimate. The repair was a fuel pump. The next day he called and said vehicle was ready and price was his quote. Vehicle runs great now. I was a former body shop manager and estimator. Dealing with the public is a royal pain in the ass. That's all I have to say about that. read more

My car wouldn't start, I needed a new starter. They convinced me I was wrong and charged me $300. The next day my car won't start, in the dead of winter, with my 5 yr old. I call them and tell them that I paid all that money for nothing, and they were just like, "Well, you can bring it back in, but it'll cost ya." So I got my friend to replace the starter, works fine, only cost $40. NEVER go here! Trust me! Especially if you are a woman! read more

My truck had a coolant leak in the beginning of July. On a referral I went to Probilt. They diagnosed it and said it was a hose leak. The bad news is that it's on back order from Ford for 4 weeks. It ended up taking 7 weeks to get (can't blame them for this part....they're at Fords mercy here). The part finally arrives and they replace the leaky hose. You can imagine my surprise when the bill was $380! I decided I was just happy to finally have it fixed. Within 48 hours my truck is overheating again and out of coolant, which is the same problem as before. I called in and they had me bring it back. After diagnosing the issue again they call and say they will have to take some things apart to get to the A/C line as it appears to be leaking. I told then to go ahead. They did and agreed that was the issue. That took 4 business days to fix and had to leave my truck over the weekend. They finally call to say it's fixed and I could pick it up. Charged me $581 for this go around. I almost fell on the floor laughing . I pointed out the obvious scam and Damon argued with me saying he was sorry I felt that way. He claims the A/C line started leaking after I took the truck from him. Comical! These guys clearly were out of their league with this simple job. Almost $1,000 for a coolant leak. DO NOT GO TO PROBILT FOR ANY REASON. THEY DO NO KNOW WHAT THEY'RE DOING AND YOU PAY FOR THEM TO LEARN. PATHETIC. read more

Way overpriced. Had a fuel pump replaced on a suburban and they charged almost $1000 for a $250 pump and 3 hours of labor. Had it quoted by several other shops at less than half of that price but my father in law had already told them to do the work. When we called back to discuss the huge price difference from other shops the manager basically said too bad that's how much were charging. No customer service. It looks like I've finally found an honest, legit, and knowledgeable auto repair shop! I have a 2003 Saab and every time the check engine light comes on I cringe. I've had several of the big chain shops charge me outrageous amounts for bulbs that I didn't even need. A coworker gave me the name of this place when I called not only did he asked me questions about my car and knew what I was talking about, he also asked if I would need a ride after dropping my car off. Unbelievable service! They fixed the initial problem and gave me a new customer discount. I knew the car had a problem with the neutral switch, but when I was doing my research on that, I found that that part was very expensive and I didn't have the money at the time to have it repaired. Well I knew I couldn't keep praying that my car would start so I asked them if they would look into the problem. They didn't just replace that part, they made sure that was the problem. When they called to tell me what it would cost and when it would be done I found myself saying out loud " why are you being so nice to me" he laughed and said, we treat all of our customers like this. i'm 56-year-old single woman and have had so many big chains take advantage of me. PLEASE DO NOT USE THEM!!!! They charge $93.50 a book hour for labor (book hours are a joke as we all know). They said I needed an ignition coil $300, spark plugs $40.72, and plug wires $66. $673.53 for everything. I went in next morning after doing my own research. They only replaced the plugs and diagnostic.... $235.06. I found a $59 coil online and wires looked great (definitely not original wires). I could have done the job, come to find out for $105 (it was 13 bolts to get to everything). They lost 2 Allen bolts to the intake manifold. I called and they said they were never there (bs). And they ripped my water pump off and left it dangling. So now I have to buy 3 specialty bolts from VW to mount it properly. Outstanding service! Our engine lost power and they diagnosed and repaired the problem. Kept us informed, showed us the faulty part, and got us back on the road with confidences. Mechanic was extremely knowledgeable, owner offered to take us to mall or anywhere else while repair was being made. I'd give no star if I could. This place sucks. Will never go back or recommend to anyone. Took my car in because my check engine light came on. Turns out it was just a fluke (gas cap wasn't on all the way?), but you can bet they charged me $60 just to tell me that. They didn't mention any charges until I was about to walk out with my keys!! I've taken my car to many places before that have never charged me just for LOOKING at my car. Definitely making sure I take my business elsewhere from now on. I have to say, I've been to Probilt in Jeff before and left completely satisfied with the work. I took my car there yesterday with an oil leak which ended up being a silicone seal around the oil pan. Damon was the one I talked to. He suggested I call GMC to see if the leak may be covered under the powertrain warranty first, but if not, they would be happy to fix it. Which is what I am going to do. I had several general questions about my new car that he helped me with which was really helpful. They have a nice waiting room if you have to wait for your car (the chairs are somewhat uncomfortable though) or they will take you to work and pick you back up for no charge.
