They ended up replacing the unit after it was apparent their technicians were incompetent and could not resolve the issue. Issues with the HVAC still persisted after. I liked them so much, I wanted to expand my quote to include some plumbing and electrical work. This is when things took a turn for the worse. I needed a quote to give to my title company so they could cut a check for closing. I called MCH EVERY DAY for almost two weeks. I spoke to the front office, I spoke to one of the owners. I sent them an inspection report so they didn't even need to go to the house site. I NEVER got a quote. I ended up going with GNC plumbing who quoted me TWICE as much as the original MCH quote but immediately got back to me and got the work done in a quick and timely fashion. I would not recommend this company, despite the fact that some of their employees are great. They had an opportunity to make a really nice amount of money off my closing costs/title company and missed out due to sheer unprofessionalism. They made getting work done on my new home extremely stressful.

He promised he'd stay involved and keep communication flowing. That held up briefly, then he completely disappeared... and so did his father, Robert Senior, who had "taken over" operations. I would hardly call his lack of communication and strong lack of customer service "taking over." My tenant dealt with ongoing AC issues for over a month, sometimes with no working air during hot summer days. Every time I was told the issue was resolved--whether it was the thermostat, the board, the float switch, or then a mysterious plumbing issue--something else would go wrong. I asked repeatedly for a clear breakdown of what was fixed, when, and by whom. I was told it would be emailed. I gave my email address, correctly spelled, six different times. Still never received the paperwork and it has now been almost THREE MONTHS. To make matters worse, when I tried to get clarity, Robert Senior called me and snapped. I remained calm and professional throughout, but the lack of accountability and the dismissiveness were inexcusable. At the end of the day, I had to micromanage every step just to keep things from falling apart. This company may be family-run, but the communication and professionalism were anything but warm or reliable. And this is putting all of the above lightly. I could post screen shots of all our text messages but that would take me a long time and I've already wasted more than enough on waiting around on these two. If you value your time, your tenants, and your sanity--look elsewhere.

Nothing fancy; just clean and check the unit for the summer. That's when they came to my house and told me that my unit had over five problems, including leaking refrigerant, bad capacitors, electrical work, etc. Funny enough, their first quote was for 8k, which was to "fix these terrible problems." However, they gave me another crazier solution, to get a brand new unit, which was only 2 tons for a small house for 11k. Kid, you not. I went and got a second opinion, and as I suspected, my HVAC connections weren't the prettiest, but had no problems. The other HVAC professional also found out that they only cleaned a portion of the unit, so he installed a new disconnect, re-did my drain line, sealed my flashing, and rewashed my unit for $600 bucks. Do it at your own risk. I have never seen something like this, not even when I used to live in NY they tried to upcharge me like that.

I didn't know it was over $940 when I hired them. I feel they took advantage of my situation. For them to put in new values system and faucet. With cheap plastics knobs and super dated look. It doesn't even look nice. He was there less then 3 hours. The adjacent bedroom had a plumbing cubby in the wall. It was really easy for him to get access to this area as well. It was an old delta faucet system that need to be changed out because plastic values were leaking. The second bath (master) I hired another licensed Plummer and with everything out the door same job it was $300. I even have a nicer update looking faucet. He was retire military and in the Plummer union. Super outstanding man. I will call on this gentleman who fix my master bathroom for future fixes. Thanks Andrew!

This was a mixed bag. I had high hopes for these guys based on Yelp. The reviews are great. Even…read morethough the Yelp sent out bid requests to several other plumbers, I had already settled on Shaver based on the reviews. I asked for an estimate when I called their office to set an appointment. I was told there would be an $89 trip/diagnostic charge and then they would charge me for the work, which they said they would tell me once the service tech checked out my issue (Leaky outdoor faucet). So I was fine with that because I had a degree of trust since the reviews were so good. And I had received a flat rate estimate by then from a competitor for $220. So I'm thinking in the ballpark of $200 which was fine. The guys who came over were on time, personable and professional. I liked them. However when they were finished estimating the service, it came to $489. This was just too far out of the realm of possibility that I just paid them the diagnostic fee and am having a friend come do the faucet replacement for me. $50 part and I'll grill some burgers.
