Easy chicken, there was a problem with reception on the television and the HVAC system was acting up a little bit so they just changed my room. Beds are comfortable showers are simple closet style showers. Place is comfortable, and clean. Wish they had a bit more breakfast, but at least there's coffee and I grab and go. I like this hotel, it's clean, except for the toilet that clogged for no reason and lotion was out. The guy at the front desk was really nice but he they have no waffles! All I really wanted was to try a hotel w the waffle maker and others mentioned waffles in the reviews and they have no waffles! They are pet friendly but have a $25 pet fee, which would be fine if they actually had waffles, which is the point of a place like this. I even talked to the guy at the front desk about how much he liked waffles. They have like two kinds of cereal and one kind of toast and coffee. If the guy mentioned they have no waffles I would have slept until 11 and not set my Alarm for 6. Every mention of sausage, bacon, waffles, is a lie. read more

Check in and check out we're with a live human, but I did see someone else using the kiosk with a clerk through a video connection at one point. The room was great. It was a junior suite with a king and a couch. The couch opened up to a bed as well. The room was clean. A/c worked perfectly. The bathroom had a shower, no tub. The bathroom fan worked but it took a long time to clear the steam (and smells) out. The room had a mini fridge. TV with cable. We were in the second floor and had to carry our stuff up and down the stairs. Not a problem for us but probably ask for first floor if you can't carry your suitcase up stairs safely. The breakfast included oatmeal packets/hot water, also walnuts and raisins and maybe granola? Muffins, cinnamon raisin bread, bagels, other breads, toaster. OJ, milk, coffee, cereal, fruit. Probably a few more things I don't remember. We ended up with a very noisy neighbor one night and called the front desk. They took care of it. Walking distance to a grocery store and McDonalds. When I called to request more towels, the guy in the front said he was too busy (which the lobby was empty) and we had to come get them ourselves. The place smelled like a care facility. The room was a little thrashed. The lamp shades look like a cat clawed them up. One of our lights never worked and flickered the whole time. We didn't bother to reach out because it was hard to get a hold of someone to begin with. We got in at 930 pm on Friday night and were on hold for at least 15 minutes before being hung up on. Our lights by the beds weren't working because they weren't plugged in correctly (someone had to come in and physically move the beds to get to the outlet). The virtual check in was a bit odd and sometimes unhelpful with only one person versus real people actually staffed. We were missing a towel and had to wait until the next morning to get one even though I stated the room would have three adults, not two. No one gave us clear instructions on how to get to the gym (we asked the only employee we saw and instructions werent clear) so after scouring the three hotel buildings twice, we figured it out. The property is oddly set up. You can hear everything going on so if youre on a bottom floor, youll hear everything your upstairs neighbors do. The price was good and breakfast was decent. Gym usually very nice but it's because they share a full on gym with another business. The room was clean enough with nice beds and pillows. I don't know if I'd recommend this place or stay here again. It's comparable to a motel 6 but the beds and pillows are much more comfortable. read more

They renamed the place Prodigy, should be called the Wizard of Oz Model. I would give it 4 stars or 5 stars, but one must deal with a machine to check in. Sort of like a Wizard of Oz machine that speaks flaky English. I told my girlfriend I was going to come to the lobby and watch people check in because, despite the absolute weirdness, the lack of English language skills of the person; added to an off-the-wall experience. I was not sure where in the world the employee "playing the wizard" was from. My biggest critique is that management needs to hire better English speakers, per se. The motel was fine! read more

I had booked the motel to visit UC Davis with my son. After reading a few of the reviews, I was very nervous about this but decided to keep our reservation. The area is totally fine, I was very confused by the other reviews stating that it was dangerous or people felt unsafe. The check-in at the kiosk is definitely weird. Especially since there was actually somebody at the desk, but they directed me to the kiosk. Even though it's weird, the check-in went fine and fast. I was pleasantly surprised by the room. It's clean and looks like it was recently updated. Now for the downside. The walls are very, very, very thin. We could hear everything going on around us. In fact, there were a few times where things were so loud, that we both thought somebody was actually in our room. So for that, it definitely loses points. We didn't use the pool or have breakfast, so I can't comment on that. read more

The only reason why I am giving this hotel one star is because it is barely okay. The customer service here is lousy and I strongly believe the homeless shelter has better breakfasts than this hotel. I would highly recommend for you not to stay at this hotel if you have family members with children. Hi , I recently stayed there this weekend and I'm really upset.. I paid $276 for one night and right when I get there I had one bed .. when I called and made the reservation.. I got the very last room and they made me pay for it .. I paid double for it ..I told them I had two kids and two adults.. So right when I get up to my room.. I have one bed ..so I had to go down there and argue with the lady and tell her we weren't gonna fit in the room and that I made reservations with a king size bed and a sofa .. So that took 20 minutes of figuring that out . I made that reservation on 8/5 and paid $276 ..and then we get to our room and our TV doesn't work.. so me and husband are there for 15 minutes trying to figure it out.. I had to call lady at the front desk to come up and fix it ... And then to top it off we had no hot water for the shower.. we all took cold showers... For almost $300 a night I really upset about this weekend and I hope someone gets back to me.. read more

There's no front desk clerk. Check in is done by someone somewhere remote. It feels creepy and unsafe that the place isn't well staffed. I was told when I made the reservation that I would have a quiet second floor room. Instead I got a first floor room next to the parking lot. The walls are very thin and not soundproofed. I hear every door that is opened and shut, someone's tv, the pings from someone receiving texts, and my neighbors' conversations. I think they must have rebranded the hotel with the name Prodigy to dodge the bad reviews on Yelp that appear under "Days Inn by Wyndham." I stayed here only because the other hotel I looked at had a ridiculous cancellation policy. Now I wish I'd taken my chances and booked with that hotel. When I left Building 2 this morning a woman tried to catch the door to get inside without a keycard. She and two friends were hanging out by the door waiting to get in. They were a rough group (homeless looking, very thin, face tattoos, etc ). It appeared they had raided the breakfast because there was a huge pile of eaten and uneaten food piled up by the garbage cans by the door. It may be that they pooled their money and shared a roommate for the night. read more

Recently booked a 3 night stay. I called ahead of time that I will be arriving a little early before the check in time and requested an early check in. I even told them I am willing to pay early check in fee if I have to. I was told that they should have room ready by certain time that they told me. Very impressed. Extremely clean and the bed was super comfortable. It felt brand new. Nice breakfast in the morning too. The front desk on a kiosk was a little different but did not cause any problem. They were right there to help if you needed anything. Kiosk checks you in. After a long day of traveling you don't feel like doing all the work to check -in. The kiosk is so loud everyone in the lobby can hear the information you're exchanging. No live person was available. They gave someone my same room and had a stranger walk in my room. Light on bed was out and so was a bulb in the lamp. Water by 8am shower was already cold water. I could hear every time someone came in and out of the main door and the people above me walking and talking all night. Overall this was not a good hotel. I should have read reviews prior. The price of this hotel does not match the quality. I give it a 2 stars because I did like that it did not have carpet and thank goodness for that. read more

For the price of $120 a night, this was definitely not a good deal. Poor quality towels, poor water pressure with pipes that squeal ear-piercingly and soap dispenser (rather than teeny bars) that don't work. The room was nicely appointed with a king size bed, a desk, two chairs with a small side table, a fridge, and a microwave. The coffee maker is one of those tiny single cup brewers. We have stayed at several other places in Davis in this price range, that we're far superior! Lesson learned....don't wait till the last minute to make a reservation! Arrived tonight at 7pm. Easily booked a room. As soon as I opened the door to the room, I could hear two tweakers outside in the parking lot. They were using profanity, shouting at each other, breaking glass bottles, shuffling around their crap in the back of their trucks. They obviously chose this place because this particular parking lot is not visible from the street! Needless to say, I called the manager. He was rude, almost hung up on me and told me he would go out and address the issue with the guys. I advised him to be careful. One of them was holding a syringe in his hand. Well, I stood at the window to my room and NEVER saw the manager come outside!!!!!!!!! After 30 minutes, I finally called 911. I will be asking for a full refund in the morning and will continue to review this place until I am refunded. DO NOT stay here! It is dangerous. Shame on the management. I tried to warn them about the situation for their safety, too. DO NOT book here. I feel as if you would be unsafe, my opinion but please be careful. read more

Excellent, low cost hotel in Davis. I stayed here while in town dropping my child off at UCD. Our room was quiet (we heard neither other guests nor road noise) and well located (just off the freeway, but within easy drive of downtown Davis and the campus). Our room seemed to have been renovated recently and while the decor was modern , it looks kind of shabby already with scratched floors and a somewhat dirty shower stall. We didn't eat breakfast at the hotel. Compared to other places in Davis, Days Inn is an affordable option for 1-2 nights. Would stay here again. read more

Only decaf coffee in my room ( that's a sin , after all the other discomforts). Couldn't wait to leave. Spoke to the manager , showed photos of my room. This is probably the 8th time I've stayed here over a 4 year period, and they certainly have changed for the better. The rooms are newly renovated, so they are modern and sleek. Beds are comfy, but a little too firm for me. We were on the floor level next to the parking lot in the back. I didn't hear much of anything. I think maybe once I heard a door slam, and I could hear some footsteps from the 2nd floor. Breakfast is good. Place is clean. Staff is great. We always have a great experience when we're here. The hotel's website, along with several booking sites, list a fitness center among the amenities. Yeah, no. There is an adjacent commercial fitness center that you can access for $20 A DAY!! That's a scam and false advertising. The hotel had one vending machine that did not work for the entire week. The bathroom door in my room literally FELL OFF THE HINGES INTO MY HANDS!!! Complain to management? Uh-uh. There is no on site management. There is a kiosk in the lobby with a video screen at which you can talk with someone IN ANOTHER COUNTRY!! Booked this place really last minute and was lucky to get a good deal using hotwire. So the living accomidations are interesting. Bed. Super awesome. Big comfy and a lot of pillows. TV with digital cable and wi-fi? Even better, but the bathrooms? OMG. I felt like I was in gym class all over again. Silly me, never checking the bathroom as soon as I get in the room but dang, theres no shower stall the ENTIRE bathroom is the stall... Basically taking a shower here will inundate the entire room better than an aquaduct to a farmfield. But I guess you get what you pay for I assume. When you arrive in the front lobby, you think it's going to be a great experience. However when you walk back through the lobby to the rooms it's like going from heaven to hell. The stairs are concrete, carpets need replacing or at the very least a good vacuum. When we entered our room it still had the sheets at the bottom of bed (dirty) on top of clean ones. The room had a really heavy air freshener smell. It smelled like dog and cigarettes. The outside trash cans had dog poop bags over flowing onto the floor. The sheets had stains but appeared clean. My wife stayed here for buisness and the kids and I joined her for a few days. Location is good. Easy to get to downtown Davis or Sacremento. Everyone in our family gives it thumbs up. Buildings are set back from road to make sound not an issue especially if you are in the farthest back building. Rooms are nice spacious clean and quiet. The floors are wood rather than carpet but I liked it because it kept it nice and clean looking. A big desk, decent sized fridge and microwave and coffee machine plus free breakfast with waffle a and decent coffee. Kids loved the waffles and the pool. We had the pool to ourselves. I think it's mainly used for buisness trips. The pool even had nice music piped in in the day. The beds are a bit small for two adults but they are comfortable enough and ac is good and not loud. People are friendly. Al in all I'd say it's a great value. read more

Really disgusting place. First of all, we paid for an extra rollaway bed in our room, and it wasn't there. We had to call up to the front desk and we also asked for towels. They asked us to walk to the front desk to get them at 11:00 in the night. Second of all, the halls looked like they hadn't been vacuumed in months. There was plastic, crumbs, and trash all over the floors. Even a pile of dirty sheets were out in the hall! When I informed the desk of this, they told me that "isn't the case".
