They got subs and chicken strips. Publix usually doesn't have nasty food. I probably just caught them on a bad day. I will still go back.

As I found them, I began swapping the bruised soft tomatoes with tomatoes from another box. As I was doing this, I suppose it was the produce man that came at me and in a rather loud voice and said, "Ma'am, what are you doing!?" He startled me walking up on me very rapidly with a loud volume. He did not even introduce himself. He spoke to me as though I was in a corner stuffing tomatoes in my pockets(stealing). I told him I was going to can the tomatoes and they needed to be firm with no spots or bruising. He began chiding me as though I was a child and told me "You cannot build your own box!" "I stood and watched you". Then why ask what I was doing if you watched me the whole time? Now he's playing games with me. He argued with me for a few minutes so I told him I would leave. I put the top back on the box of tomatoes and put the box back where I got it from. As I was leaving, he was walking beside me still arguing with me until I got to the door. At this point, this is harassment. He caused a scene and people were staring at us. The scene was unnecessary and could have been avoided. He told me there were no rotten tomatoes. So why if all the tomatoes are all so good, would it matter if I was swapping one for another? The man was very unprofessional and rather intimidating. If I am going to pay $40 for a box of tomatoes, I certainly want all of the tomatoes to be the best possible for canning them. It's not really what one says when handling a situation, it is how they say it and the tone that they use when saying it. I will never step foot in Randolph Market again if that is the way they deal with their customers. They need to train their employees on good customer service. Especially with men running up on women in such an unprofessional and intimidating manner. Let me give Randolph market a free lesson on good customer service. The employee approaches the woman swapping tomatoes. He says calmly and reasonable, "Excuse me ma'am. My name is ...... I work here in the ....... department. I have been watching you swap tomatoes between boxes. We call that building a box. Our store policy does not allow that. You can purchase a box of tomatoes as is. That would have been an acceptable way to handle the situation without causing a very unnecessary scene in a place of business.

There will also be times where not a single cart is available in store--they are all outside. When you only have so many employees you can only do so much at one time. Somehow, despite all this the store is CLEAN. I have never once smelled sour milk in the refrigerator or seen messes on the floor. Publix is always my first choice but Food Lion isn't bad for a back up so long as it is not too busy....but it is often too busy.

I ran into a local Food Lion to grab a variety of lunch meat for submarine sandwiches. I got to…read morethe counter and the deli worker greeted me with the biggest, friendly smile. She told me about the specials and answered all of my questions. When I selected the meats, she asked how I wanted them sliced. She asked me what I was making and offered some slice sizes that would enhance my submarine sandwich. She was so very helpful. I looked at the breads and decided on some freshly baked sub rolls. They even had a submarine oil that was designed to give my sandwich an authentic sub taste. I went to the produce section and everything looked fresh and was presented nicely. The floors were clean and free of debris. The fresh options made my choices fun. I got some fresh lettuce and tomatoes for my sub. I was also able to grab some freshly sliced fruit medley to have as a snack. I was surprised they had those options available. I went to check out and the cashier was swamped with customers, but kept an amazing attitude. He checked me out and asked for my MVP card.
