I just got home from the PJ in Maple Shade (Willow RD). This is the second time I've been rudely treated there and it is my last time I will ever step foot in that place. As someone who has shopped there for over 30 years, I was not aware of the *new way they ring you up for plants. Usually, the cashier looks at my cart and counts the items/prices and gives me the total. The cashier today, which was rude to me last time I went, just stared at me. When I asked her "how much", she said she didn't know. She did not tell me to place all the items on the table, but waited until I asked her if that is what she wants me to do. This is something new, as was the scanner and giving of a receipt. She should have said something to me instead of just stare with an attitude. It really upset me and I will be buying my plants anywhere else! read more

This is one of my favorite produce junction locations. No need to negotiate getting stuff hidden behind the counter and a bit more spacious than average. The parking lot is also reasonable. You might not get AAA produce, but their prices and selection are hard to beat if you eat a lot of vegetables. Buy judiciously, buy in season and you shouldn't have issues. Service is a little surly but brutally efficient. If you are a cheapskate like me you will love produce junction. read more

I should've been shopping here more often. Decent prices, I picked up herbs, and fruit from here. They have my favorite flower (orchid) on sale for 6 dollars. I have big decoration plans for them in my new place :) Bring cash if you come here, don't be overwhelmed by long lines they move quickly. My herbs are a little wilted. Produce Junction has the best prices on fruits, veggies, and flowers. They also have a huge variety of these items, so you can find almost any fruits or vegetables you want here. All sales here are cash only, and there is an ATM located at the entrance of the store. Each category of product (veggies, fruits, and flowers) has their own check out line. Flowers are either purchased outside or at the front door, veggies to the back left, and fruits to the back right. Most fruit and veggie products are located behind the counters, so hop in line, read the signs, and be prepared to tell the workers what you want when you get to the front of the line. The other products can just be picked up and brought to the counter. The center of the store always has flower bouquets, the left side of the store normally has flowers for graves, and there are outdoor flowers all around as well as desk plants. Produce has some of the best prices I've seen on plants, and is a great place to start your plant shopping. This selection is also very seasonal- and is a great place to get a Christmas Tree (only $25!). The lines here can get very long, sometimes it is best to split up to get in and out. read more

Prices cant be beat, but i stick to buying vegetables here. I used to buy fruits as well, but in every bag of apples theres at least one or two rotten ones, and the oranges are always dry. My latest trip included a bag of plum tomatoes, green peppers, 3 heads of romaine, vidalia onions, and a bunch of asaparagus for $9.50. Cant go wrong with that. The location is great. It is close to East Gate Square in Moorestown (close to 295) and has plenty of parking. Produce junction specializes in low-cost, high volume pre-bagged fruits and veggies. Peppers are already in a 3-lb bag behind the counter. You do not get to pick and choose your produce. There are a few items in refrigeration around the store, plus a large selection of plants and flowers, but the majority of the selection is behind 2 counters- 1 with fruits and 1 with veggies. At the front of the line, you tell the store employee which items you'd like, and they grab bags for you. All of the items' prices are on a large board that is over the produce selections. As an example, this week I got I got 7-8 small green peppers, 2 large red peppers, 3 lbs cucumbers, 3 heads romaine lettuce, 2-3 lbs zucchini, 3 lbs carrots, and 8 tomatoes for $14.50. No, that isn't a typo. I truly paid $14.50. Bulk buying isn't for everyone, and not all fruits and veggies freeze/keep well. I tend to plan my week's dinners around my produce junction trip or have a friend share the bounty. Other great ways to use lots of fruits or veggies- juicing, smoothies, and soup. Tips- They only accept cash. While there is an ATM on premises, it was down when I visited. As such, I don't go unless I have cash on me. -Bring a sturdy reusable bag with you to lug away your jackpot of cheap and fresh produce -They sell fresh, peeled garlic cloves that are cheap and to die for. They're sold in a plastic container in the self-access refrigerated section on the veggie side of the store. -To avoid angry shoppers behind you, decide what you would like while you're waiting in line. There's no place like produce junction if you're looking to stock up on good, cheap fruits and vegetables. They also sell quite a bit of flowering plants at exceptionally reasonable prices. When I say cheap, I mean vegetable and fruit for a family of four for a week for under $20. There are a few things to keep in mind. Go early. This place gets packed. It's nothing to stand behind twenty people in line. Seriously. This food is not organic. For the prices, I don't ask a lot of questions. I'm using this in soups or cooking it with other products (or squeezing it into a beverage), so I'm not too picky about the fact that it's probably grown on top of a jersey landfill. I have yet to find anything that glowed in the dark, but for the prices, I wouldn't be terribly surprised. This food is cheap. I mean like a dollar for five pounds of carrots, or a whole watermelon, or a dozen limes! This is 'Uncle Jimmy that works for the you know who' cheap. If you're on a budget, you can't beat the prices anywhere. The other day was a dozen oranges for a dollar, two pounds of strawberries for a dollar, and two dozen eggs for a dollar. Can't beat that. Oh - they sell eggs too. The food is good. It's not organic, but it's not crap either. Some items are more perishable than what you may get at the supermarket (I've found tomatoes have a shelf life of two or three days). So go early, don't get caught up in the cheapness and overbuy, and enjoy! read more

I have been coming to Produce Junction as long as I can remember, and was delightfully surprised when I discovered there was one near my college campus. There are actually quite a few locations. Produce Junction has a huge variety of well, produce, and other flowers/plants. You get a lot here while spending a little. There are two separate lines for fruits and vegetables, and when the weather is nicer there is also a register outside for flowers and gardening plants. I love that there are always seasonal items here- I have gotten pumpkins here as well as Christmas trees! The Christmas trees are actually a pretty good deal here- not only is it super convenient but you can get a decently sized tree at an affordable price. Don't forget- Produce Junction is cash only!! There is an ATM inside but make sure you have cash when you get to the front of the line (and know what you want)! read more

The stores fruit lady is so rude!. She's always cranky, and treats the customers like garbage. Every time I go to get my fruits, she always seems as if she doesn't want to be there nor help you. This place is the cheapest around! Come with $10 and leave with all the produce you need for a week or two. I admit, sometimes the bags of produce are more than I need, but it only encourages me to get creative and use it all up- which is exactly the kind of "inconvenience" we need in our lives- too many fruits and veggies!! You have to get savvy on where you store your different produce to make it last, but honestly, I never feel bad if I have to throw something out because everything is so cheap in the first place. There are two lines- one for fruits and one for vegetables. My hubby and I split the lines between us and it makes it go much faster! The service is set up to be quick, so know what your getting, but don't be afraid to ask for what you want either, because they are all very helpful. All in all, a great place to nab cheap produce. This is perfect for what it is. Great​ if you want to buy veggies or fruit in bulk. Yes- they could be a little bruised or not have as long as a shelf life as big stores.. but you are also paying $2-$3 for bags of veggies that would cost you AT LEAST $10 in the store. Produce Junction can be compared to the soup nazi on Seinfeld. Cash only and be quick. Make a list if you think that you might get flustered. Dirt cheap and fast. We get all of our produce shopping for the week done in about 15 minutes. Better for families or people who blend or juice vegetables since some of the quantities are pretty large. Items are prebagged but we have rarely had issues with items that spoil quickly. If you need a larger qty of an item, you get even bigger discounts. In the summer, we usually get cases of berries. Minus one star for zero organic offerings and the fact that they don't want to let you leave without a plastic bag as we always bring our own. This one is a bit less crazy than their Bensalem location. So we prefer it. read more

This market was my first experience with this type of market. I try to go in there at slow times (usually an hour after they opened) when they seemed to be a little more relaxed. I have been in, when like other reviewers, experienced the "soup Nazi" attitude of produce markets. I really like their selection of plants and flowers during the winter when I really need some color in my place. I also like the fruit, but try to get things that have some kind of shelf life. Omg what horrible people work here! I watched the manager and one of his employees yell at 3 different people when they asked if he carried specific items. Literally yelled at grown ups and patrons! This is a stupid store why do you have to pay multiple times for multiple types of items. Quality of fruits + vegetables has started deteriorating. Bought okra here and was very disappointed. Had to throw out a large quantity of it because it was spoiled. The rest had an excessive sticky, glue seeping out of it ( more than normal). Do not buy watermelon here regardless of how cheap it is. Go to Shoprite, pay the extra price difference and enjoy the consistently better quality. I bought watermelon here last week for $4.50 and half of it had to be thrown out because it was not sweet (it was white vs red). Strawberries have been consistently bad as well. ...... Customer service has also suffered. They have an influx of newer staff ( girl's 25-30 year olds) which give u an attitude if God forbid they have to take an extra 4 steps b/c u forgot to list an item on your list in the beginning. read more

My wife was shorted a container of strawberries yesterday in Produce Junction in Maple Shade..First of all..They rush you out the door like cattle.They only have 2 lines and it's often not nearly enough to handle the crowds. No receipts and sure as hell, no time to look inside all your bags to see if you got everything. As soon as she gets in her car, she realizes a MISTAKE. She goes right in and tells the cashier that he forgot to bag a container of strawberries; which BTW are still right in front of the cashier, next to the register. He tells my wife she didn't PAY for two only one. Of course she paid for them, that's why they are sitting in front of the cashier/register I go back in there today and meet; Mr. Bald dude with glasses (supposed to be the mgr.). I try and tell him the story and he gives me a look and proceeds to walk away from me and leave me standing there. Finally, he waves at me to come up to the front. I try to tell him again about the problem and the $1.50 strawberries .He pauses like he's very heavy in thought and makes his decision & tells me I'll let it go THIS TIME; but in the future TELL your wife to check her bag(s) before leaving" I ask him if he thinks I got in my car drove over here to rob him of $1.50? Again, he walks away from me. I do NOT LIKE the way he handled this and I hope the OWNER sees this. It is the RESPONSIBILITY of the CASHIER to make absolutely certain that everything that is purchased is put in BAGS...Not left on the counter. This place is run very haphazardly. 1. They add all purchases up in their head. 2. There are ALWAYS long lines, so you really can't CHECK your bags as the mgr. 'instructed' me to tell my wife) it's unfair to those waiting in back of you. After all - we live in N.J. 3. When one of the cashiers screw up...and a customer comes back in your establishment not once but twice over something as cheap as $1.50; you treat them with respect you never demean them and remember the customer is always right! I don't expect the cashier to come chasing after my wife into the parking lot; but if a customer comes back in and says" I forgot THOSE STRAWBERRIES SITTING RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU........You should NEVER CALL A CUSTOMER A LIAR. That's what she did. My wife said to me "Oh, let it go"; but I don't feel that I should (obviously), but I fault the manager (today) more for humiliating me in a packed store. I was prepared to throw the f..... strawberries ???? where, I don't know; but they were ready for launching. When you run a store with no receipts you don't call people liars when they come back into your store. Especially for a buck and a half. One more thing......if you're ever in their parking lot - watch out. I will NEVER go back there. The prices aren't that good. read more

I used to go to this one a lot. Now I'm telling you this as a word of warning. They try to pass off unripe habaneros as the real thing. These are not the right produce. I specifically need orange ones for my business. They had bags of green ones, I asked when they were getting orange ones, I was told the green ones are orange. You have better luck digging through the ones at a grocery store. At least they're ripe and you won't get treated like you're an idiot. I'm going elsewhere because I know the difference between good produce, now I hope you do a little bit more. read more

Really great place to get your vegetables and fruit because it's so freaking cheap! Some cons: you must pay with cash and don't get a receipt-they quickly add up how much you owe with mental math, so if you don't know exactly how much you owe you may be overcharged. You kind of feel rushed here, so it's best to make a shopping list if you go. Finally the produce may not always be the freshest and can go bad pretty quickly compared to a regular grocery store. For the price though, can't complain too much. It's a fraction of the cost of what you pay at grocery stores. Be warned that you cannot buy organic here! read more

Don't purchase the yellow/gold poinsettias. Our company purchased 44 red & yellow/gold plants last Thursday. As of today Monday the reds are fine but the yellow/gold are all losing their flowers & leaves. You can definitely see the reds are healthy plants but the others will probably be in the trash by Friday if not sooner. What a rip-off considering how much we paid, $7 a plant. read more

First time inside this place although I have driven by countless of times. I even work about 5 minutes from there. Interesting.... so cheap you'd think the quality would be mediocre but no, the grapes were tasty, the strawberries were first rate. Will see how the rest is and report back. Here's the only issue I see. The quantity is fixed. 2 pounds for whatever and unless you intend to eat it all, you will throw some away. This produce junction was smaller than other but the prices are awesome! I got two weeks worth of fruits and veggies for $16...and I eat a ton of them so that tells you something. Bring your own reusable bags if you have them...makes it easier to carry out because they don't have a lot of carts. It was quick so have your list ready and get what you need. Today was my first visit to Produce Junction, and I was pleasantly surprised. Many vegetables, fruits, plants, cut flowers to choose from. I even got peanuts for the squirrels and family. They had beautiful hibiscus trees for $10.00 and braided for $12.00. Same hibiscus trees down the street at Home Depot for over $28.00. read more
