I had several items that needed to be addressed in my house that I called this company for. I wanted to have all of my undercabinet lights replaced in my kitchen, as well as needed to have an outdoor outlet replaced, and at the last minute I needed them to look at and figure out why all the outlets on one of my basement walls were not working. I coordinated everything with one of the owners, Rob, and he was great. He worked with my schedule and insured me that a last minute issue that I asked him about could be taken care of while they were here. When John came out he was very professional, and very friendly. Since we are still in the middle of this pandemic he also insured to wear a mask and follow proper protocols for a safe visit. Poor communication and utterly unprofessional. Stayed home for the first half of the morning expecting them and took off work and they were NO CALL NO SHOW. Called and spoke to Rob and instead of apologizing, he was rather rude and showed no care for his business. Terrible experience! The workers who came were friendly, however they left their debris and mess in every room of the house (pigtail copper wiring to aluminum). A few minutes after they left, I called them to let them know that the whole side of the house had no working light/electricity. The owner, Rob was very rude and impatient with me. They were only able to come back the following day to fix the problem. I called Rob back for a question I had about the job. He answer the phone with a blaring "what now?". Loud, rude and interrupting me before I could explain anything. After I paid them nearly three thousand dollars... I had to call again to let them know that they eliminated the only outlet I had on a wall, but he blamed it on the general contractor, and I never heard from them again. Professional Electric was initially recommended to me by a friend, and so happy that they did. Have had a great experience 2 times over now. Had them do a few light installs (including a VERY challenging chandelier), and both times, they did a fantastic job - very clean, timely and super informative throughout the install to make sure everything was exactly to my liking. Horrible service from this company. They "pig tailed" my aluminum wiring to copper and after a few years a hall switch started making an electrical/buzz arcing sound when turned on and off and sometimes a pop. I contacted them and I spoke to Rob Coop. He was less then friendly on the phone with me. I explained the problem and asked if his work was guaranteed I said I wasn't sure if they did the work and would have to check my records. He kept repeating "So you're saying You're not sure we did the work" over and over. I said I would check my records/receipts. He told me to do that and call him back. I found the 1500 dollar receipt and called him back and left a message. It's been two weeks and two messages and he still hasn't called me back. read more

Absolutely appalling customer service and support. Had them install and replace some outdoor fixtures and switches. Crew was very polite, did good work. Unfortunately they made a minor mistake--switches were mis-wired, so in a bank of 3 switches, 2 wires got wired to the middle and nothing wired to one switch. Didn't catch it until after they left (all three switches on, all lights on). No big deal, easy fix, I'm sure they'll just stop back and fix it. Message the owner--sure I'll let you know. A week later, same answer. Rinse and repeat for 3 more weeks. Now over a month, and I have no commitment to fix. Call and send a couple more messages, and the owner's response is now "if you would stop with the constant messages, it would have been done already". So apparently a once-a-week message for over a month to fix an error they made is unreasonable. I'm frankly shocked to be treated so unprofessionally. I think they generally do good work, but if they happen to make a mistake or you need any kind of support once they've already cashed the check apparently you're out of luck. read more

Not always as things appear. Selling our house and the inspection report located an issue. Rob had his guys resolve the issue and I paid him for the work. A week later there must have been another reason for the original issue that popped up because the problem was back. Called and had him come back out. Their company should be renamed to Unprofessional Electric. Rob Cooper comes to my house to give me an estimate for electrical work. At first, it seemed like a GREAT estimate. Their price beat every other quote I had. But typically, if something seems to good to be true, it probably is. I emailed Rob to ask if the estimate included the cost of a permit, he said it did not, saying I didn't ask for one. Red Flag #1. You're going to be doing electrical work (trenching 120 and 240 from the house to a shed, including installing a subpanel in the shed) and you don't think I'm going to need a permit? For a company based in Crofton/Bowie, you don't seem to understand how PG County permitting works (The licensed electrician submits the permit request, not the homeowner). Which made me think he wanted to do the work off the books. But, it was a GREAT quote so I messaged him asking what the additional cost for the permit would be. Didn't receive a response. I called their company asking to speak with Rob regarding the estimate, and I was told he would call back. I called twice. I never received a call back. I sent multiple emails. Never received a response back. I decided to go with another company even though they charged slightly more. Rob and Professional Electric were horrible at communicating anything with me during the process. When I asked him basic questions, I never received a response. They were so awful during the introductory process I have ZERO faith if I paid him to do a job, it would even be accomplished 100% according to code or that they would even show up to do the job. Do not use this company! The owner is very rude and unprofessional. We had used them in the past with no problem but this time I called to tell them we wanted to have a ceiling fan installed and possibly a couple of other small jobs. They sent someone out the very next morning which--my husband and I assumed--was for an estimate since I was quoted no costs. A very nice young man came and told us he thought he was here to do the job. We didn't even have the ceiling fan yet and explained we thought this was for an estimate. He gave us the estimate and said to call when we have the fan. We called two days later to schedule but the owner called back and told me I was inconsiderate for ruining a day of work for him. I told him that he had not quoted any cost for the work and he said I didn't say I wanted an estimate. I thought that was standard operating procedure--if a price is not quoted, then they are coming to provide an estimate after seeing what needs to be done. Who would hire a company without knowing the cost involved? No reason for this owner to be so rude and inconsiderate for a simple misunderstanding. We will NEVER use them again! Johnny & his partner saved the day (possibly my weekend) by fixing a job I'd botched: installing a new power switch for furnace/AC, which was in a tight, difficult-to-access, very uncomfortable location in the basement. Professional (?) Electric Inc needs to take the word 'Professional' out of their name. When I called to set up an appointment for an estimate, I spoke with someone name Rob (later told, on another call to them where I was asked to speak to the owner to complain, that he is the owner). On the initial call, I told him that we needed an estimate for an upgrade on our fuse box or putting in a circuit breaker if needed due to an appliance we would be having installed. We were scheduled for an appointment at 9a.m. on Feb 1, 2018. When no one showed by 9:30a.m, I called at 9:30, 9:45, 10:00, and on until 2:00pm that day to inquire why the 'no show' and when would someone be coming. Each time the people answering the phone (they must have an answering service) said all they could do was send the message forward, that they only answer the phones. I even called the next day thinking maybe something happened to the person health wise and that was why a 'no show' but was given the same message - they would deliver my message. I called 3 other times on different days and the same response. I even called 2 weeks later because I wanted to express my displeasure about this scenario but got the same reply from the person answering the phone. Here it is almost 2 months later and I still have not received a call back from this company about any of the aforementioned. We got the needed work done by another company but I could not let this go without writing this review for the TERRIBLE WAY THIS 'NONPROFESSIONAL' company - Professional Electric Inc - handled/or didn't handle this matter. Let me start out by saying that, the two gentlemen that came by were great. John and Mike knew their stuff and I have no issues with them. But, Rob, who supposedly owns the company and who I spoke with, does not understand customer service, at all. I own my own company and have a degree in Business. But it doesn't take someone with this background to understand that that is not how you treat customers....especially REPEAT customers. Not anymore... Anyway, I was having a problem with the electric wiring running from my mircowave. When it was initially installed, it was basically spliced into the existing line, instead of having its own line running directly from the microwave to the power box. Everytime I tried to use my microwave for over 45 seconds, it would trip the power to the entire house. We would have to go downstairs and flip the switch to bring the power back on. We had this problem for over 3 years. I called this company on November 30th 2009, which I have used before in the past. On Wednesday, December 2nd, Professional Electric sent two gentlemen that came to do the repairs were two that I have had in my house in the past; they were excellent workers who knew their job well (Mike and John). I paid the company $450 (via check), plus a $20 tip for each of them (totaling $490). My microwave issue had been resolved and I could use it like a normal person uses a microwave. However, the day they left, another issue surfaced. Now, for no reason, nothing on, the power kicks off. It happens NUMEROUS times per day. This has never happened before. For instance, a day later, when I got home, I went straight upstairs after coming home to change my daughters diaper, and while doing that (nothing was on), the power went out. In the past, it was only due to the microwave and now it trips when everything is off. Its Saturday morning and its already kicked off 3 times by 9am. I called Professional Electric this morning (Saturday, 5 December 2009), about 3 days after the repairs by the company. They have an answering service, which told me that they would get in contact with a company representative who was going to call me back. I waited about an hour, when Rob (last name unknown), called me back. (He later stated he was the owner of the company and had been doing this for over 30 years, which I found interesting because he only sounded about 35-40 years old). When I answered the phone, he immediately copped an attitude with me, acting like I knew absolutely NOTHING about what was going on in my house. I told him what the issue was and he proceeds to tell me that that is not what I told him. I told him that I know what the problem is, as I have been experiencing it for the past 3 years and pretty confident that when I initially stated my problem, that I accurately defined what the issue was. He proceeded to tell me that I was basically a liar. His voice got louder by the sentence. I told him that I have no problem with his company, that I enjoyed having Mike and John (two repairers) over, and that I just wanted my issue fixed. He told me that it was a BGE problem (local electric and gas company). So I asked him if this is just PURE coincidence that after his guys leave, my power kicks off 3 times by 9am when it's NEVER happened ever? He said yes, because it's raining. I told him that it's rained over the past 3+ years I have lived here and never had an issue. He was short of yelling at me (1 minute into our conversation) and said that the didn't appreciate me calling his workers "shady", which I never did. Again, I think that they did a good job at the time, I just want my problem fixed and that I was giving him repeat business. I guess he wasn't concerned about that. I asked to speak with the owner, which he then said he was. I said that I do not appreciate being yelled at when I was just trying to provide him business. Now, I understand that I called on a Saturday morning at 10am, but when their business card that I have on my fridge says "24 hour service, 7 days a week", I guess I just misunderstood that term. Stupid me. In the end, they did a good job on my microwave, but SOMETHING happened in the wiring that is now causing another problem that I guess they just now don't want to fix. If you enjoy being yelled at after trying to give someone business, please call Professional Electric. They are good at that. read more

I think these guys are great. I've had them to my Crofton home to work twice. The first time they fixed a bedroom wall switch that a couple other electricians could not figure out. Today they installed a transfer box for my emergency generator. They arrived on time, obviously knew what they were doing, installed the box, wrote out directions, gave me a number to call in case I forgot what to do. They are polite, personable, and their prices are OK. Without question i will have them do my elctricsl work in the future. read more

If I have any electric problems in the future I will be calling them from now one. Microwave kept cutting off and on. Pulling the microwave out and the outlet looked bad so we called them. They were here in 15 mins and didn't bullshit around. They fix the problem and said we were lucky it didn't start a fire cause how let wires were so burnt up. They were even nice enough to put microwave back and set the clock. They could not been any nicer or more professional. read more

I hired Professional Electric to wire an addition consisting of two rooms and a 2 car garage. First, like the other reviewers state, the electricians are polite, friendly, and knowledgeable. The issue is the OWNER - Rob Coop... a real gem. First, the wiring didn't pass inspection. The only way to get them back to the house was to hire them again to install a ceiling fan and some receptacles. Needless to say, while at the house, they completed the work to get their wiring up to code. A few months go by, I attempt - for the first time - to use power tools in my garage - only to have the breaker for the family trip. I called Rob Coop, he tells me that the wiring passed inspection, and that he does not work for free. I explain to him that the wiring in the garage was to be on a separate circuit from the family room, and that using tools in the garage shouldn't cause the family room's breaker to trip. Again, he states angrily that the wiring passed inspection, and that he does not work for free. He then hung up on me.
