The staff here is amazing. The eye doctor is down to earth, extremely knowledgeable, and explains everything in detail.

I had been to 4 different doctors with an eye issue that only seemed to get worse, I called Dr. Pittmans office knowing they'd be out of my network purely just because I needed the help and he diagnosed in 5 minutes what 4 other doctors couldn't. He not only fixed the problem, but took the time to educate me on how to prevent it in the future. He and his team are so incredibly compassionate and helpful. I'm super grateful to them. read more

I had the worst experience. The problem is that they are not saying what I am responsible for. And they are charging things that are covered by my insurance, despite them being completely covered. I called my insurance and did my due diligence prior to going in the establishment. I had a copay due. I told each individual, as I was moved thru several different people throughout the experience that I was paying only for what the insurance allowed. When I got to the end, they asked for more than the copay. I was baffled. I questioned it, and I explained that I called the insurance and with my insurance I do only a copay, everything is included. They insisted that was not the case. I was told I was not allowed to leave without paying the additional 35 they added for refraction cost. I said I will call the insurance right now. I have never paid that before. I was asked to go back to the office manager. I was on with my insurance and the office manager first told me "hang up the phone". I thought that was strange but she followed that demand with I can call on my own time. She explained that the people at my insurance are probably new or ignorant to what the charges are. She then added that since I have a medical condition that I should be more eager to want to pay the fees that they added because they are more professional of an establishment than other places. She said that refraction is the prescription. I asked if that was not covered by my medical then why not use the vision plan I have. I was told they do not do split billing. Then I explained that if I had a prescription it is covered under insurance, they do not leave that out. My percription as explained to me by the doctor, was optional if I want more clarity at the end of the day or if my eyes get tired. I have 20/20 vision. I told them I had that last year as well, and they gave me a perscription for when I have worked all day. I was not filling that since I see great. The office manager continued to tell me that I was wrong. Doctor Pittman even walked by to add that it was a normal fee. I was told that I should use a whole sale place in the future as they would be more reasonable in fees. I was told that I should have gotten a call before and explained the fees, I did not. I told her I told each person that I was paying the copay only and no one in the entire facility said I had an additional charge. She snatched the prescription from my hand and told me I did not need that and threw it away. It is my medical information, but she felt that she had the right to remove it from me. This woman was beyond rude. She was telling me that I could not have my perscription. I did pay my copay. They said they would bill me and that I should find a cheap place in the future because I did not value their professionalism in the eye industry. I called the insurance immediately which in turn called the office manager and told her that I ABSOLUTELY did not pay an additional fee for refraction it is covered at 100%. Blue cross and blue shield filed a complaint immediately agianst this establishment. They too got the attitude and nasty behavior from the office manager. Blue cross went on to say that she had to explain that not all insurances have the same thing, and that with a medical condition mine was covered and I was right not to pay fees that were not allowable by my insurance. This place just wants your money and will do anything to convince you they are in the right and you are not looking out for your best interests. It was insane how nasty they were. And I am sure that they took the prescription because it was fradulant. Someone does not have clear vision till they are tired then need glasses for far away and driving. DO NOT GO HERE. They are going to charge you more than you need and they will keep your money. I did not get a call back to apologize for their misunderstanding nor did I have anyone in that establishment say, hey we dont talk to a customer that way. NASTY nasty people. Before you are seen they check your insurance, but I just received a bill because my they said my insurance changed network and by coming in for a visit (that was scheduled 5 months ago ) I was considered out of network. I spoke with billing supervisor that it is the responsibility of the patient to check before their appointment. This are the same people that kept calling to remind of this appointment, but they could not be bothered to check insurance issues (even though they ask for it when you check in). In the future I will look elsewhere where they have some customer service. read more

Rude doctor and a waste of time. I went for a routine eye exam and it took an hour and a half!! Near the end of appointment he walked away without saying anything at all... for 16 minutes!! I found someone and asked them if I was supposed to leave... maybe I didn't hear him say he was done? She said no, he will be back. I could hear him in the room next to me examining another patient... while I waited. When he came back I said, 'well there you are! Next time you leave a patient for 16 minutes you could at least let them know you'll be back.' He looked taken aback and didn't respond but I felt so much better. He was about to finish up when I had to point out he hadn't gone over my retinal scans with me. They cost extra and he didn't even bother to explain them until I pointed it out to him. So my son had a heart appointment and they let them use a office for these kids. While I was there I asked the receptionist about the prices for an eye exam because I have been having issues with my left eye. She quoted me the price of $64 for the eye exam for glasses, which is really cheap so I asked about the contact exam because my husband is like ask about contacts because you will need both so I ask her and she says $41.00.. I'm over the moon because I went to eye lab and the glasses they gave me don't work. So I scheduled an appointment right then and there. So today I get a call confirming my appointment and on the voice mail the lady says the eye exam is $89.00 so I'm like hold up because that's not what I was told so let me call the office. I call and I get a receptionist and I tell her about what I was told. She gets an attitude and says you were quoted wrong? I ask her is there a way to honor the price I was given since I was ready to pay that and not the $89.00 she snaps and says it was a mistake.. Do you want to keep the appointment or not? At this point I'm feeling pretty disrespected so I'm like no ma'am? I'll go somewhere else? I can understand the mistake but the bad attitude I cannot? I won't be giving my hard earned money to someone who has no respect.. What happened to customer service? read more

This place should be called UNPROFESSIONAL Eye Care. The bad reviews are beyond true! STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS!!! They ignored my request to compare my old prescription to the new prescription so I can understand what has changed, refused to show what the options are on my new glasses, or what it will cost with different options. When you ask to see what the options the Salesperson talks down to you saying you don't know what any of this means, waves her hand, shaking her head, No! expects you to agree to pay for glasses without knowing the price, then when I said OK place the order then tell me the price she refused to process my order! Then demanded the prescription printout back after I already paid for it which is ILLEGAL! BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE! The worst eye Dr. Experience I have ever had!!! The Saleswoman should be fired immediately for her unprofessional and outright rude demeanor. Negative stars! read more

At first glance this placed seemed very clean welcoming however the Doctor was very rude and unpleasant to be around the manner in which he presented himself and the way he treated his employees was nothing short of unacceptable. I will never take my business here again. read more

So we are in the middle of the shelter-in-place directions from the city of HInesville and my husband got a sty. We took a chance and called the office to see if *maybe* they were seeing patients. We just happened to get Ann on the phone, who was there to finish some paperwork, but the office was closed. She listened to the situation and said she would work with us and the doctor to see if they could help us at a distance. Not only did they do that, but my husband now has a prescription that was sent in and he should be on the road to recovery. Thanks, Profesional Eye Care, Ann, and Dr. Pittman! read more
