Yet after talking to him on the phone, reading his reviews here, and then meeting him in person I was so very happy that I changed my mind. During the inspection I followed Zak around and found his process both systematic and thorough. I have no doubt that he found all of the issues in the house we plan to buy. So happy to have been referred to Chris. He is extremely knowledgeable, thorough, friendly, punctual and tech-savvy. What more could you ask for in a home inspector?? We had Chris come out for an older home that we're buying, and he noticed even the tiniest defects. The sellers still lived there, so he was as careful as possible to look behind everything and create the most detailed report he could. He also provided a sewage inspection (poking a camera through the sewage system) for an extra fee, which NOT ALL INSPECTORS are certified to do. But Chris is! The report came to us within 24 hours, through a nifty online portal. Very easy to read and understand, even for a newbie like me. I used Professional Inspection Network at the recommendation of my realtor, who is a family friend so I know he would only recommend the best. He has worked with PIN for over 15years and really respects their work. Chris Vella did a great job. He was extremely friendly and gave us great information. Their company is certified and they make it point to not make recommendations for contractors to fix issues found at the house (that would be a conflict of interest). They do offer a great service though, where they will look at quotes of work you are getting done on the house after the sale and let you know if the quotes are reasonable for the work being done. The seller of our house was so impressed by the report that he is hiring PIN for his purchase. He said they found things he hadn't noticed and he is in the electrical/construction business so he really knows his stuff. I highly recommend PIN and Chris. This is not a fly by night inspection company, they have been doing this as a family run business for many years and obviously are very dedicated to their work. FYI - they do accept credit cards, but do charge a percentage like many small businesses, so you you may want to bring your checkbook to your appointment. read more

I chose PIN because it's a small family business, and I support small businesses. Chris accommodated my schedule and was able to arrive at 7am in the morning. After some friendly talk, he started his very thorough inspection. He went under the house, in the attic, and up on the roof. He looked under each sink cabinet, ran the water, ran the heater etc, overall a very thorough inspection. The house was in very poor condition, and some things were visible, others he discovered due to his through inspection. He felt bad for me and gave me a discount :) His communication was thorough, and he was able to separate and give both his "official" opinion as well as his "personal experience" opinion. Him and his family have been doing this for many decades. There are many house inspectors out there, some maybe just as good as Chris is. My experience with Professional Inspection Network / Zak was very similar to the previous reviewer. When I was selling my home, the buyer used PIN's services. I was impressed that Zak found everything I was aware of in terms of things that needed repairs, plus more. So when I was in the process of buying a home, I used PIN's services. Both my agent and I accompanied Zak during the inspection. He showed up early, answered all the questions I had, and did a very thorough inspection. I was pleased with his services. He creates the report at the end of the inspection, and then goes over it with you to make sure you understand the things he has discovered. PIN also has a service where they will answer questions and help you evaluate bids for repair work, so there is added value there.
