First of all, I met Des about 12 years ago when she agreed to do my make up and hair TFP for a photo shoot with a photographer we both knew. I had had my make up professionally done several times before and it was fun, but I never really felt like they got what I was looking for and was left feeling like I'd rather have just done it myself. But OMG when I looked in the mirror after Des worked her magic on me I had never felt more beautiful in my life, and the confidence I had came shining through in those photos. Honestly, one of the first thoughts I had after my boyfriend proposed to me was "I wonder if Des still does hair and make up because I want to feel like that on my wedding day". When the day came, Des showed up early and I felt her excitement for me. This isn't just a job to her, her heart is truly in providing an elevated, unique experience giving her bride the royal treatment. She made me feel like an absolute queen. We had some last min changes, both my mom and my future mother in law decided they wanted make up done, and Des had allowed enough buffer time to be able to accommodate them easily without compromising my experience. The whole process was so much more than I realized it would be. It was a full spa treatment, massage, skincare, even deep hand moisturizer, topped with the most gorgeous hair and make up done in such a fun, intentional way. Des has the gift of being able to make it feel like we were just two bff's getting ready for a fun night out, while still being the absolute solid professional I needed to keep me cool and relaxed preparing for the biggest event of my life. When I stepped out of that chair I felt like the most confident, beautiful woman in the world and I am literally tearing up as I write this recalling the feelings I had in that moment. Everything went perfectly that day, and boy did I have some strong emotions during those speeches. My make up and hair held up like Stonehenge and the only thing I ever touched up was my lips. I actually didn't have the best experience with a previous makeup artist before finding Betty. My first trial elsewhere didn't feel like "me," and they weren't accommodating with my early start time or flexible with adding artists for my bridal party. When I messaged Betty back in April for my January 2026 wedding, she responded quickly, was transparent, kind, and confident. She immediately put together a tentative timeline to make sure everyone would be ready on time and told me, "I can do all that for you!" and she truly meant it. My bridal trial with her was AMAZING. It took about four hours, and I walked out feeling absolutely stunning. I wanted a natural, bronzy look with a brown smoked-out eye and half-up, half-down flowy curls -- not too tight. I have a lot of insecurities (especially about my forehead), but Betty made me feel SO beautiful and confident. My hair and makeup lasted all day, and I was honestly speechless. My entire family, who had seen all my previous looks, said this was the best one yet because it truly emphasized my natural beauty. My eyes popped, my hair looked smooth and flowy, and I felt radiant. My hair and makeup lasted ALL day -- through dancing, sweating, crying -- and I only needed minimal touch-ups.
