Mimi does a great no chip mani/pedi that lasts for over 3 weeks!! Salon is clean and parking on Central or in the back lot!

Best dip I have ever had!! Such good staff and have had two dips so far and so long lasting!!

I was going here a few years back and remember it being just ok. Since it is close to my house, I decided to give it another chance. Lucy was the one that did my nails, and there was a language barrier. I told her I wanted to remove my dip and switch to no-chip. She repeatedly told me I needed dip because the no chip wouldn't last me a week, and dip was the only thing that would last a week. I explained that the dip was too thick and my nails hurt as it grew out because my nails have a curve. After only showing me dip colors, I kept trying to tell her I wanted no chip, but she wouldn't listen. I finally said ok. I pulled my hands back a few times because the heat hurt from her drilling too long in one place. She laughed at me and told me I was scared. I explained it hurt, and I wasn't scared. She said it's okay; your nails are strong. I showed her a picture of what I wanted (attached). I picked a light pink (similar to the pic of what I wanted) and asked if she had a similar glitter polish or if she could add a coat of glitter on top. She picked a darker pink glitter polish. she applied 2 layers of color and then filed it down to be thinner before adding the design. It took her 15 minutes to draw the designs on my 2 ring finger, and then she said she was done. I didn't even push for the other fingers, as shown in the photo, since it took so long. The hearts were oddly shaped, and she then told me she doesn't do art but seemed very proud of herself. I left disappointed, thinking I just had a bad experience. But that night I picked up my keys, and a corner of the polish chipped. Then I looked closer; the sides of my nails were unfinished, and I could bend my nails under the polish. This is the first time I've experienced this. I filed the sides of the polish and my nails to smooth it out. I've been trying to make this manicure last to prevent damaging my nails more with removal. Since the polish is continually chipping, I've had to keep filing my nails down shorter and shorter. I wish I took better pictures of the problems. 1 week later, I couldn't wait anymore as the chipping looks horrible, and I couldn't file any shorter. read more

Great experience at Professional! I got a full set of acrylics with gel on top. My nails looks beautiful. Exactly what I needed! Update: 24 days later, I am a dog groomer so my hands are constantly in soap and water, I'm moving around crazy dogs, etc, and my nails have not lifted AT ALL. My acrylics have never lasted this long, let alone while grooming dogs. Very impressive. Highly recommend if you want long lasting nails! read more

The nail salon is great, the people that do the nails are wonderful, this review is because the man that cuts hair in the back is terrible. I've been twice for pedicures and one time he had a client, he was loud, was swearing with the client, and is overall obnoxious. His client had a dog in there barking with her and was talking on speaker phone, which was inappropriate for a salon. Then another time in the empty salon, he chose to sit right next to my pedicure chair and chomped his gum, talked on his phone, and acted like an idiot while I was trying to enjoy my experience. I won't be going back because I don't want to have to deal with listening to him and his inappropriateness. If you can ignore annoyances, please do get your nails done there, the ladies are great and respectful. read more

I used to love this place! Not sure why i had such a disappointing experience. I called early to book an appointment (around 11am) for a full set. Showed up at the 1:30 to only be told if I could come back later (they forgot to write my name in). I said sure, no problem. I went back later that day, and got seated right away. The lady who did my nails (Lucy) seemed to be in some sort of rush. She filed my natural nails very quickly, and didn't even out the acrylic nails. I had asked for a coffin shaped, and she did a square. (Once I realized that she was shaping them squared, i let it be, since I can deal with that shape). The length was perfect. I had asked for a no chip polish, (I thought gel & no chip were the same thing). I wanted no chip because it dries faster and stays on longer. I did a white polish, but clearly two coats wasn't enough. The color is very uneven (you can tell on my pinky nail). I don't mind paying high prices for a good job, but this was definitely not worth $50. I've had them on for 5 days, and they look like I've had them on for at least a week. If I could rate this place 0 stars I would, horrible experience. Came in for a fill just because I didn't have time to drive to my nail spa , so I made a quick appt to stop by here . Nails done by some lady named Lucy . Absolutely did an awful job . Polish left , too thin to the point it hit my nail . My nails look disgusting. After 1 hour my nails were still not dry and have markings all over them . Highly don't recommend this place . Need a good place to get your nails done , go to Shirley nails in wheeling . She did OK, except my nails are too wide & not as long as I wanted - they also don't have "my shape", so they look so different, but at least my nails are done & I'm not going to get stuck on the little things. My nails were done by Helen and looked horrible. The acrylic was THICK and dug into my nail beds and looked so unattractive they were noticed by everyone at a large party that evening. I called the next day to have them fixed and was told to come right in. Made the appointment and was treated horribly. The women including the manager said there was nothing wrong. They proceeded to talk about me and make fun of me with the other Asian customers. Even though I had an appointment, was told it would be fixed, I sat through this mistreatment for two hours waiting for Helen because I was told only she could fix it. When Helen appeared again, she was angry and told me I would never be allowed in the establishment ever again and if I came in she would tell people not to help me 10x. I asked her to please fix them and I would never be back. Well, two days later and a nail has broken off. I WOULD NEVER GO BACK OF THEY PAID ME TO HAVE MY NAILS DONE! When I went in in May for a mani/pedi the mentioned new ownership (within the previous month). The new owner gave me a business card and was super friendly. They didn't have exactly the polish color I wanted so they offered to open a new one. My nail technician (Domiana? I forget her name but it started with a D) was EXTREMELY friendly and knew what she was doing. She asked made great conversation which I liked, but I didn't feel obligated to talk if I would've preferred to just relax. Overall just a great experience. read more

I went here a few months ago with my friend. I haven't been here for a while. They did a horrible job I mean horrible. They messed up my friends nails so badly she had to go to another place after. I said something and they tried fixing it but made it worse. They took $5 off when they shouldn't have charged her a dime. Her nails were bleeding and they cut her so many times. When I moved to the north shore, I could not find anybody who could do an acrylic set that would last. I went to several places all over the north shore and they would all chip or break in a week or less. I was so happy when I found this place! My nails would last at least 2-3 weeks and I am pretty rough on them. I can't remember the lady's name who would do my nails (sorry) but she is almost always there and usually the only one doing nails. She always did a great job on my acrylics! She gave me a few pedicures too and they were great! I miss this place now that I'm not living in the area anymore. read more

This is a hidden gem in Highland Park. Wonderful, attentive manicurists in a clean, relaxing environment. And the prices are consistently below market. They're also open late during the week and open Sundays in the Spring and Summer. I highly recommend this salon, and Tina in particular. read more
