I have been going to Ellen for 20 years. I was a "virgin" wax customer . . . she was my first aesthetician and set the bar. Occasionally, when Ellen is on vacation, or when we are on vacation, I have reluctantly used other aestheticians. After each of those visits I always feel they would benefit from training by Ellen. Ellen has the ability to chat comfortably with me while working close to my private parts, and that is a consummate skill that one should never overlook. For sanitary reasons, Ellen wears gloves and uses high quality products. Ellen discusses after-care when appropriate and makes herself available for any questions or concerns one may have post visit. I am a swimmer and started going for bikini waxes and, over time, added facial waxes. I do get the occasional derma-planing, as well. Ellen suggests and advises, but never sells. I went to Ellen once for an eyebrow waxing. I have gone to some really great waxing people in Chicago and California. I choose to give her a try, due to the reviews on yelp. What a mistake that was! I asked her to even out my eyebrows. Instead, she did the complete opposite. When I looked in the mirror, she had taken so much off one of my eyebrows that it looked like a hack job. I think she realized she had messed up, and backed off on my other eyebrow. They were completely lopsided! I was really upset when I left, and felt like everyone was staring at me as I walked out of Taylor Reese (bad vibe). It took me over a year to finally grow my eyebrow back to somewhat resemble it's shape before Ellen messed it up. I will NEVER go back there again! read more
