I was in for a classic pedicure and had a bad experience. The nail tech was obviously rushed and when I put my feet into the water it was scalding hot! She then proceeded to cut my skin with the cuticle scissors so that my big toe bled. After that, I told her to stop with scissors and just apply color. Even the color application was poor - the polish was old and thick, messily applied and she never returned to apply drying spray. I won't be back. read more

I've been coming here since the end of April and was really excited to find a tech who was confident in her designs--she's super creative and her portfolio really impressed me. I even encouraged my mom to start coming here. I knocked a couple stars off because I asked for specific things like "extra short coffin with French tip," and I felt like I had to beg for them to be shorter. My nails grow fast and break easily, and while I know super short coffin isn't common, I've learned it works best for my hands. Right when she started, I didn't like the style of French tip she chose. I immediately said something because with gel, it's easy to wipe before curing--but she told me it wouldn't look good on short nails. I felt dismissed, and honestly a little embarrassed for speaking up. I know what I want and felt made to seem difficult when I'm not. Then one of my thumbs was just lacking a little color. I asked for a small fill, but instead she used a completely different method--and now both thumbs look uneven. I didn't want to keep pointing things out because by that point, it felt like she was just done with me. When I called to get it fixed, I offered to see someone else, but she insisted I come back to her. When I did, she asked why I didn't say anything sooner. I said, "you seemed upset," and she told me it doesn't matter--I should still speak up so I don't waste my time and she doesn't wait on me. (Mind you neither of us would waste any time if my requests weren't ignored) I really miss when my old tech would compare each finger and double check symmetry. Today she didn't even look at the reference thumb, and again used a different method. At this point, I'm honestly ready to just start doing my own nails. She's got serious talent and a strong vision, and that's why I started seeing her. But after weeks of feeling unheard, I've realized she often favors what she thinks looks good over what the client wants. I went to Chic Couture for the first time after being recommended by many of my friends who always had perfect nail designs. Amy was my nail tech and she was great. Her work was extremely precise and I loved how gently and carefully she treated my nails and hands; it was so pleasant talking to her. The other employees were also all so kind. They did a mini photo shoot for my nails at the end and it was such a blast. I visited the nail bar during their 50% services special in honor of their grand opening. I was greeted with a free beverage (pinot grigio) and picked out my polish colors while I waited for my tech. This space was super clean! I thought the decor was cute and overall the workers were SOOOO SWEET! They can do any design you ask for and are very skilled in their craft. Should you choose to go, I HIGHLY recommend Tim. He was the best nail tech I've ever had and made my day. Nope. I gave them two more chances but it's going to be a hard pass from me. At my second appointment, I waited past the start time of my appointment for my pedicure and manicure. I had the time to spare so I stuck around. The pedicure was mediocre but the dip manicure was surprisingly good. There was some weirdness when I was switched to new a tech without any explanation mid-dip. Also some weirdness when a couple sitting next to me walked out after also waiting a long time for their appointment to start. Staff tried to follow them out or call them and then asked me if I knew why they left. I had an appointment tonight to have my dip soaked off. I didn't need a new manicure - just really wanted to get what I have removed because it's overgrown. I arrived a few minutes early and checked in. At 15 minutes after my appointment start time, I walked out because I was still standing around waiting. There were only a handful of techs working and they each had a client so I get that they were busy... But what was the point of scheduling an appointment? And a dip soak off should only take 20-30 minutes, tops, so waiting 15 minutes for the appointment to even start was too much. And, of course, I was followed out by an employee who wanted to ask why I was leaving and try to get me to come back in, yelling at me as I walked down the sidewalk to another shop in the same plaza. Picture shows the yellow one, there's a gap where the tip was added too small for my nail, so I had to file down my natural nail every couple of days. The one star really comes for the customer service; I went in for a full set on my natural nails, after a few days they started lifted, so I went back to get them redone. They decided to remove the set and reapply it since the lifting was on more then 50% of the nails.... And I was charged for a full set again. So I paid for two full sets less then 7 days apart. If the first set was applied well I wouldn't have had to go get them re done. I asked the manager for refund of the original set and I'm still waiting on it. If I don't get that refund I won't be returning which is a same because those champagne/cbd pedicures my husband loved and I was going to do those every month for him as a gift during his paternity leave... other then this issue, with the refund for a poorly done set, pedicures were fantastic and the manicure my husband got was well done too. read more

I normally don't write reviews but I had a really uncomfortable experience today. I came in to get just a basic pedicure in a hoodie and shorts and no makeup. The woman at the front desk told me I needed to cover up and tie my hoodie around my waist because there was a male worker in the back. I felt really uncomfortable and I ended up covering up but it still bothers me that she would say that. When I was getting my pedicure done the woman doing them told me I looked tired. As a woman I really did not feel safe there. If you're a young girl thinking to get your nails done here I wouldn't. read more

Ugh I really wanted to like this place. Initially when I walked in I was wow'd by the gorgeous decor and nail selection. The owner was not that friendly. My nail tech, will, was super friendly however the dip manicure took an hour and a half. Never in my life has a dip manicure taken that long. Also, I had to sit and dry? I usually walk out of the salon immediately with dry dip nails. I sat for over 5 mins and then he took another customer while I was still drying which makes sense. I asked the owner if I was done and she put oil all over my nails. Will then said oh no! It's too soon. But they felt good to me so I left after the longest manicure of my life. When I got to work I noticed that one of my nails was completely dull and sticky. So after work I had to go back to get it fixed which he then used a blue ray light? As if I got a no chip. Super friendly! I love love love my nails and the guy doing my nails was a PRO when it came to the acrylic application. Super smooth and the shape was fantastic! Pedicures are done with a "disposable jet" which I think feels similar to a regular jet but less strong. Super cute and trendy, and there's really nice decor to take photos. They have a variety of different brands for nail polish as well. I did come on the grand opening to get a pedicure, and it came with a sugar scrub and massage but it wasn't as strong as I liked it, but it was for a promotion so I understand. read more

Meh... Found this place via Tiktok and the videos from customers were amazing. Made reservations for myself and my daughter for manicures and pedicures (Princess ones for her as she's under 10 years old-not sure if there's an age limit). They immediately offered her a beverage but never offered me one. The tech who worked on me was flying through and seemed like he was missing stuff and just trying to finish quickly. My daughter was done well before I was which I expected. Once I was at the drying station my tech checked my nails and said I was done. I told him I didn't think so and he assured me they were good.... They were not. 2 smudged as I was getting my things together so he had to completely redo those fingers thus making me and my daughter sit around longer. I got my nails done yesterday and today I found cuticle pieces hanging off my nails that I had to cut off myself. In all my years of manicures this has never happened. The nail polish is already chipping and despite me telling him I have brittle nails and already having one very short nail, he decided not to cut them the same length as the short one and now one of my nails that he cut has broken and looks wonky. As others have said it's pretty and makes for great photos but the cleaning could be a bit better. They don't dust any of the nail residue from the stations. The price was also crazy. $140 for the both of us after the discount and we got regular OPI nail polish-not gel or dip or anything. I don't anticipate going back. read more

I went to this salon because it was new and close to work. I wanted to give them a chance. My first fill looked good, but didn't even last one week. I decided to call and give them another try since they were new. They set me up with Amy who was AMAZING! Her work lasted over 2 weeks, she had great suggestions for nail care and strengthening, helped with great color ideas and choices and did super cute nail art. Also, prices were reasonable. I always made my appointments online which is super convenient. I went to make my last appointment March 1st and Amy was no longer on the list. I wasn't sure why, but I just booked with anyone thinking maybe she was sick that week. I got to the salon, the front door had a board on it. I walked in and the front desk had a new person. I asked where Amy was. She just looked down, shook her head and said, "uh uh". It looked like there were only a few technicians there. My appointment was done by a couple people, they didn't know what was on my nails, the nail art was fine- but they didn't know what a shamrock was and it all took much longer. My nails haven't lasted 2 weeks. The worst part is that it cost a TON more than it has in the past. read more

I was very disappointed today when I got my nails done here. This has nothing to do with the quality of the work done on my nails because honestly that part was great. Teylor always does a great job on my nails. What I had a problem with is the fact that I booked my appointment for a gel polish change with French tips. I thought that was the service I had received but I guess I got a manicure since my cuticles were cut, as the lady at the front desk told me. She then proceeded to charge me for a manicure when I only booked a polish change which obviously happens to be more expensive. I am a college student who is trying to be on a budget when getting my nails done. Since I was getting french tips, I decided to only get a polish change to compensate for what would cost about what a gell manicure would have. The woman at the front desk argued with me and forced me to pay full price for the manicure because I "had to" get my cuticles cut. I did not ask for this service. I just simply received it. If I i booked a service, it's because that is the service I am expecting to pay for. Nothing more than that. Long story short: If someone books an appointment online, expecting a specific service and received something else during the appointment, the customer should pay for what they booked. They should not be forced to pay something higher. Will not be coming back here. read more

A few weeks back, I went to this new nail shop to get a pedicure and acrylic nails put on. I walked in the shop the receptionist Randi is the one who greeted me. She was very friendly. I looked at her nails and asked who did those for you . She actually said I get them done somewhere else .. I said to her I'm surprised because your nails are so beautiful and they do such a nice job. You should have them done here representing this nail salon .. the receptionist told me alittle bit about the shop,, and to pick out my color I wanted to use . I asked Randi what color does she recommend she replied back I'm sorry I'm not able to assist you in picking out the color. She apologized to me and said she's not able to make a suggestion. I was shocked since when can't the receptionist not help you pick out your color. She explained the manager told her that's not part of her job. She's there Just checking the customers in and check them out. What kind of manager is that? you're kind of on your own picking out your color that you want to use. I was told to take a seat and my nail tech would be with me shortly I was waiting for the nail tech to finish up on someone else, it took about another 20 minutes before it was my turn. I had an appointmentand nail tech was extremely slow. It was my turn The tech never came up to me to introduce herself or to bring me back to her station . I had to walk over to her. I've never done that before. I've always been greeted by the nail tech. Is this how the manager runs her shop? Doesn't sound very professional to me. While I was getting my nails done, the manager Vi went up to The receptionist and was scolding her in front of everybody so we could all hear what was going on . how embarrassing for Randi ....why couldn't she take her into the back room if she had an issue ,why would she start raising her voice at the receptionist in front of everyone? My nails came out OK . would I go back there again? Never , would I give it five stars never , one star they sucked at keeping the appointment scheduled on time , the manager raising her voice in the shop, unprofessional very poorly run. In Highland Park that does not happen especially with the high prices honestly, I cannot see this shop stay in business they are so mismanaged. The manager is nasty, and the nail techs are extremely slow. Stay away from this shop it seriously has major issues very mismanaged. The manager is nasty. they up charge you for everything. there full sets start at 65 compared to other salons that start at 40. they charge extra 5 dollars on top of the 65 for a shape. then the design, my sister got a crazy one and they charged her 17 for design on top i got a french with little lines and they charged me an extra 30!!!!! what the!!!! would not recommend if you are on a budget that is observed. i spent almost 200 for two acrylic sets. that has never happened before. but i will say the atmosphere was super nice. read more
