I had a lovely first visit and experience here. It's tucked in the Bannockburn green shopping center. It's a smaller salon and has a limited service menu to nails, feet and waxes. I got a no chip manicure and pedicure with Elena, she was very thorough and friendly. She was so meticulous with my manicure, I love that. She did 3 coats or maybe 4 I lost count. My nails look amazing. I did a combo of 3 different colors. The massage was a great bonus once the nails were completed. It was fairly busy for a Saturday morning but I made an appointment and was serviced immediately once I checked in. Friendly staff. I will definitely come back. read more

Monica is the absolute best! Everyone who works there is professional, welcoming, and knows how to get you to relax. I brought my boyfriend here for his first pedicure because my mom and I have been coming here for years. He was very satisfied with his experience and whenever we are planning to be in the area he always wants to make time to visit this first-class salon. I would argue that the price for the Northshore is competitive for the wonderful service you receive from here. I don't understand the negative reviews, because I've been here an upwards of 50 times and have never had a bad experience. I destroyed my big toe nails with bad shoes on a vacation to DC to the point where they were bruised, so I really needed to cover them up with some polish (LOL!) My toes took 7-8 months to heal, but I went to Phoenix every time because they were all so gentle with my nails. Cannot say any bad things about this salon! 10/10 would recommend :) read more

If I could give 0 star I would. Very limited color selection, polish is old and runny. The removal of the no chip was painful. The nail polish was too runny and the tech kept cleaning my cuticles using her own nails which was very painful and felt like stabbing. I left with my toes hurting. Cleanliness and disinfection was questionable. Do not reccomend. read more

Pros: - I received a no-chip manicure and pedicure and am happy with the quality. Cons: - Owner is weird: he's an older gentleman who was trying to talk to me the entire time when I was trying to relax after a long week at work. I tried to ignore him, but he kept talking to me! - They ruined my designer shoes. I asked them to prevent splashing on my shoes, as I was coming from work, and the owner kept moving them near the basin and also kicked my shoes several times during the appointment. I was pissed. (Yes, I shouldn't be wearing nice shoes to a pedicure appointment, but I was coming from work!) - Expensive compared to comparable salons in the North Shore area. I won't be returning, as I had the same experience twice. read more

I don't understand the negative reviews either. I've had nothing but good experiences here: well-done pedicures, attentive and efficient service, and friendly professionalism. In fact, at the recommendation of a family member, I come here rather than use a salon closer to my home (and home is twenty-five minutes away). Seems that a sense of entitlement is the problem here--and that's not the fault of the establishment being reviewed. read more

Disappointed is an understatement....I'm not sure if it is because me and my friend that I i went with are younger, only 18, but we were ripped off. When we went in there was another older woman who started way before us. Who wasn't even close to done by the time we left the store. Both nail technicians spent maybe 30 seconds on each part of the pedicure (filing, buffing, massaging, etc.). Which overall was a 25 minute appt, the shortest pedicure I've ever had when I've paid less for one. At the end of my pedicure I still had calluses left that I specifically told her that is the main reason I came in for. As for my friend, there was nail polish left on the skin around her toe nails. Aside from that my polish job is okay but overall I do not believe this pedicure was worth more than $10. read more

The reviews on here are INFURIATING. Talk about entitlement and privilege-- as one lovely customer claimed: "the owner tried talking to me and moved my designer shoes too close to the basin." Excuse me, but you sound like a terrible person and no one I'd trust with a review. With that being said, this place is awesome. I've been coming for several years after experiencing nail salons all around the suburbs and city; this one is my favorite. It's clean, the people who work there are super friendly and they do an amazing job. My nails always turn out great and last a long time. I'll be a loyal customer for years. read more

The location in Bannockburn is quite old. They need some improvements. First time customer, nail polish was very old and did not offer any new or trendy OPI color options. Pedicure by K was fine although the chair did not massage & was broke, and she almost overflowed the tub with water. Then received a no chip manicure which was fine but again the colors selections are limited and polish is old. They are pricey at this location for such an OK experience. Cleaning and disinfecting was questionable. Better to go elsewhere. read more

I don't understand why this place has such poor reviews. I've never really had a problem so maybe I've just been lucky? The workers are all very sweet..Also, this place is always able to fit me in even when they are quite crowded so that's another plus. I prefer this salon over others in the area because it's a very convenient location for me and the parking is great. The salon is pretty much everything you can ask for-fairly cheap, great location, and friendly service. Not to mention, it's extremely clean. I think the poor reviewers need to give this place a second shot! read more

I have been going to Phoenix Nail & Spa in Bannockburn (shopping center at the south east corner of Waukegan Road and Route 22) for more than 5 years. It is a very, very clean, quiet and relaxing environment for a mani/pedi. The manicurists are all friendly and go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. Julie has been my manicurist of choice for the past several years but on days that she is not available, I have found the other manicurists to be equally good. I have recommended Phoenix Nail & Spa to friends who were not satisfied with their location and they too have become regulars. I have given gift certificates to friends at holiday time and they have also become converts. And because it is located in a large shopping center there is always plenty of parking near the location. read more

My daughter and I have been going to Phoenix for years. I recently had a manicure after having no- chip for months. The polish did not even last 3 days. I went back and asked for it to be re done. They would only re do the manicure if I paid again. I explained that it had not lasted a reasonable amount of time. The manager told me they only guarantee manicures for 4-7 days. I told her mine didn't t even last 3 days. She still said no. I told her that after being a loyal customer for years, I would no longer use their salon. Really terrible customer service. If I could give a minus star I would. They DO NOT stand by their work. read more

My friends and I have been coming here for mani pedis for years and love it. Their no-chip lasts for weeks until I have so much growth I need a new one. I type all day on a computer so they need to be resilient. I also have been bringing my son there for 3 years with me. They buff his nails and talk to him all about school. The lady that does his nails has a son the same age. The only con I have is that Jennifer Aniston movie they keep playing every time I go in. She's a terrible actress. read more

Will never go back to this location . Woman who did my nails cut my nails so short that my thumbnail beds are red at tips and hurt . I asked her to cut them a bit , yes ,but I actually have longer nails so NO idea why she thought she should immediately just chop them off which is how they feel and what SHE did . On top of it the polish she used she claimed was new yet every nail she had to stop and file top for something was constantly in polish . I finally stopped her and said "YOU NEED to stop and get a new bottle" . She did . Lastly my no chip polish finished with me leaving salon with all this crust and polish under the beds of my nails for my nails she cut are so short the polish must of ran off my nails onto my skin and she didn't bother to take them off . I was going to have a pedi but said I would pass and she still didn't get the clue . Too many choices to ever go back to this place again. Interestingly enough the owner sat by her for most of my mani seeing how many times she would file whatever was on my nails from polish and said nothing - was obviously more interested in another conversation he was having . I went there a few weeks back for a pedicure. Within 2 days I had 2 nails that had already started chipping. Very disappointed.

Terrible experience. They have no respect for your time. No customer service or communication. They lost two customers for life tonight. Hurried over after work to find out they gave my appointment to someone else. Then they let me sit there for 10 minutes before they told me. I got a no chip French manicure and a regular pedicure. I told my lady that I like completely square nails with corners. She filed my nails so it was slanted on one side and then square on one side with a rounded edge. She obviously didn't listen to what I said or maybe didn't care. I had to take the file and file down my nails to make them look decent. Instead of doing a proper French, she swiped on a line to make it look French. And she left nail polish under my nails and all over my skin. It looks like a 5 yr old did my manicure. There are bumps in my nail polish and cotton stuck to my no chip nail polish. She also never trimmed my cuticles which I didn't realize until I left the salon. Honestly would NEVER go back. The lady who didn't pedicure was ok but she actually nvr trimmed my cuticles on my feet either. They charged to remove my no-chip leftover nail polish which I have never paid for at other salons bc they usually have a policy if you are getting no chip polish manicure, you don't pay to remove. Worst of all they are WAY overpriced for normal prices let alone including the fact that they do a crappy job. read more
