I am an 83 year old former athlete, having coached at the high school and college level for over 40 years. During those years I was involved with many athletic trainers and physical therapists. I have had lower back surgery that caused nerve damage, atrophy and dropped foot. In addition I have had shoulder and achilles surgeries, and a knee replaced. Because of the excellent treatment by Mike Maga after each of these surgeries, I am able to play competitive pickle ball on average 4 times a week. I was contacted by this office 4 days prior to knee surgery and told I needed to come here for pre-op physical therapy. I was told my Doctor required it. They made it sound like I wouldn't be allowed to get the surgery if I didn't go. I went and spent 20 minutes talking to a physical therapist. They made 6 charges to my insurance for a total paid of $155.00. I got a bill for a $35.00 co-pay on top of what insurance already paid them for a 20 minute consult. read more

Professional Physical Therapy- Aoife Bourke, Physical Therapist Aoife helped me so much after I had back surgery. In just 5 months I was able to go back to my 2 favorite hobbies: pickleball and gardening. I was not just given PT to get me up and walking... I was given exercises to do at home or at gym workouts. She also worked on my core and my back and helped me become healthy enough to go back to enjoying my retirement. I had great fun playing and working on projects with my husband. Unfortunately, I overdid a couple of activities and my past old shoulder problems came back to haunt me. I went right to Dr, Tom Thomas and he recommended PT. I needed help from an expert that I knew would listen to me. Someone I trusted, so I went back to Aoife. In mid-November I started working with Aoife on: Muscle re-education, range of motion exercises, scapular stabilization, soft tissue mobilization, strengthening exercises, stretching, and therapeutic exercises .She also gave me diagrams and instructions for practicing the PT exercises at home. She was always kind and upbeat, even when I was grouchy with shoulder pain complaints. I am not finished with my PT yet but I wanted to say Thank You now before I become so busy with a healthy life and don't have time. I will continue to follow her instructions so that I can enjoy my retirement. ... I cannot thank her enough for her help! This place runs like a well oiled machine. If a timer goes off then someone rushes over to take care of your ice or heat or stem or traction etc. if you finish an exercise and your aide is busy then another jumps in to see what is next for you. The therapists have had amazing results on my neck. I went from pain and radiculopathy to almost no symptoms in a matter of weeks. They are timely and friendly and I feel like a room of friends because it is a relaxed atmosphere. read more

I needed the help of a physical therapist and knew Karen A. would rise to my needs as she has previously.   Karen impresses me most by her truly caring manner.  She listens to me and each visit works on the area of injury and the outlying area.  She's so good that she locates not only the specific injury site, but the accompanying pain locations!  She checks on me as I arrive as well as on my departure. Professional Physical Therapy was recommended to me by my mom after I had my knee surgery. This is the first time I have ever had to go to physical therapy. The staff work perfectly with one another and all of their clients. They all know when to push you to improve and when to back off if something isn't working right at a particular time. The techs are constantly moving in a fluid structure, assisting one another as well as all of the clients and truly do support the Physical Therapists. It is kind of like "Cheers" where everyone knows your name and are there to encourage you and help you get better. I am truly grateful to my Physical Therapist Kelly for getting me back to the point where I can get back to work myself. read more

My doctor recommended that I receive physical therapy for a my knee pain. I went to professional physical therapy and received really unprofessional care. For starters, the appointment started late and ran late. It set me back about an hour. Secondly, they hardly did anything in therapy aside from moving my knee (something I was already doing at home), then they gave me a worksheet and told me to do these exercises at home. Everyone in the office was just standing around talking about the weekend, or their boyfriends, etc. I was under a large amount of pain and was hopeful that I might have some relief through Physical Therapy. After my third visit I realized that the only one doing any work was me. I was driving in traffic to try to make it to their office in time for my appointments, just so that they could start me late and when I was in there they just wasted my time. I found a chiropractor who was actually great with my knee. He adjusted my knee and gave me immediate care. then he sent me home with my own worksheet of exercises. I cancelled all of my future appointments with Professional Physical Therapy in person. They forgot to cancel my appointment so they billed me $25 for a missed appointment. I attempted to dispute their charge but they send your social security information and all of your medical information to this lady named Marla. Marla is very rude and cuts you off mid-sentence. She said that she would see if she could waive the fee and then never returned my call. The PT office said they would not waive the fee. The referred me to the OWNER! After 2 months of this back and forth they sent me to a collection agency who now has the audacity to charge me $135 for a collection fee! This could really hinder my ability to access credit in the future and I'm really disappointed in their misuse of my personal information. But I'm even more disappointed that they benefited from billing my insurance for services that were sub-par. Please seek physical therapy elsewhere. If you're a busy person who values your time, don't go here. If you value your personal privacy, don't go here. If you don't stand for people mistreating you, then don't go here, you deserve better. I spoke to my doctor who referred me here and he said that it's not his first time hearing bad reviews about this office and that he will no longer refer any patients here. Recently I have had back issues and was referred to physical therapy. I chose Professional Physical Therapy because my doctor recommended them and I had had a bad experience with another p.t office. This office is fantastic. My therapist Dr. Jill Carli has helped me immensely! I learned coping skills, exercises and she was very reassuring and calm with me and my anxiety. A total professional in every way. All of the aides are also great, and very helpful. I appreciated all of them. Also the office staff is very kind and my insurance paperwork was done in a timely manner. All in all so far I have done about 15 sessions with Jill and I am so much better. I scheduled a series of appointments for physical therapy at 5:30 PM. I received a voice mail from Crystal today saying that I was late for my 3:30 PM appointment. I called their office and I was told by Crystal that I must have forgotten that I scheduled a 3:30 PM appointment. I told her that I would not have scheduled a 3:30 PM appointment because I work in Anaheim and would not be able to be there at 3:30 PM. She insisted that I forgot my appointment, then she told me that there was a cancellation prior to my Wednesday appointment and she had automatically moved me up on Wednesday to 5:00 PM: which I also cannot make. It has been a bit over a month since I finished my physical therapy with Dennus , Michael, Amin and team. My arm/shoulder issues are soooo much better! I understand more about the inner workings and problems that I had. I now have exercises to help keep them strong and how to avoid new injuries.The office team was very nice and very helpful in scheduling me with my crazy dates. I have never seriously injured myself until I hurt my spine recently. When I started the process of physical therapy I wasn't sure what to expect. Now having worked with Mike Maga and his team of physical therapy assistants (Brittany, Amin, Evan, Gaspar) I have been able to make great progress with my recovery.
