Professional Pool Service is anything but professional. (The company truly deserves a ZERO star rating. Their only redeeming asset is Korie. She was always very nice and helpful, trying her best to clean up the messes that the employees around her had made.) I used this company for nearly 2 years of service and ended up having to fire them. Long story short: DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY WITH THIS COMPANY. The troubles began when one of my neighbors alerted me to the fact that the pool techs were spending no more than 1-2 minutes at my home each week. (Essentially just long enough to park in front of my house and go to the backyard to jot down their initials & date on the tracking magnet they use to show they provided 'service'.) Fortunately, I was able to catch them in the act one day when I was home sick from work. I heard the tech pull up and go to my backyard. He never even stepped foot on my pool deck before getting back in his truck and driving away. I immediately phoned their office to express my concerns. Korie pulled up the GPS tracker on my tech's truck which confirmed that he had spent LESS THAN 2 MINUTES at my home. Upon confirming that the techs had NOT been providing the service I had been paying for, I decided to take a sample of my pool water to a local pool supply store for testing. No surprise: my pool water had ZERO chlorine in it and was completely off balance. The gentleman at the pool supply store was shocked when I told him that I actually had a weekly pool service that I was paying for because of the terrible state that the water was in. I immediately contacted Korie at the front desk to cancel my service. She confirmed my cancellation and offered to have their service manager personally come out to my home to get my pool balanced one final time. I appreciated her offer and agreed to allow him to come to my home to get the pool sorted out. He showed up once, late, and unprepared (no cleaning equipment, no testing equipment, nothing). He promised to return the next day at an agreed upon time so I could meet him there. He never showed, never called. Much to my disappointment and frustration, I continued to be charged for my services despite my request to cancel (and no, I was not receiving any services). I requested a refund for the fraudulent billing that had occurred after my cancellation date as well as reimbursement for the months of fraudulent service I had paid for. To their credit, I received repayment for the months (yes, months!) I was billed after my cancellation; however, it was another thing to get them to reimburse me for the months that I had paid for their tech to jot down his initials and the date. I ended up resorting to contacting the Better Business Bureau (BBB) because Professional Pool Service refused to work with me in a professional manner. Once the BBB had reached out the company, I received a phone call from the owner, Justin. He was willing to reimburse me for two months of fraudulent service; however, only if I revoked my complaint with the BBB. (Blackmail?) I chose not to acknowledge his request and waited for my reimbursement check to arrive. To their credit, they did finally reimburse me and my report with the BBB remains in place. read more

Nothing but diappointment. The repair is sloppy and has no regard for safety. They cut the old plumbing and left it sticking up above the ground when they change my sand filter to cartridge filter. Last week, I noticed water leaking from the pipe in the pool to solar area. They send me another invoice for $300 plus to fix the leak. They said they did not change the old plumbing. Will they had to pull it a part in order to joined the old plumbing to new. I found an O ring sitting on cement pad above the leak. I paid $120 per month for pool care but I realized that this company is too big to provide quality service. Prior to my replacement of sand filter the equipment has been pouring out water for a long time. I talked to pool service guy and he said " yea, I noticed that and yet he never reported it? I don't understand. The office ladies are very friendly and nice and tried to be helpful . My tip to them is don't say "I will call you back tomorrow" .... that was last tuesday, I have left couple of messages since then ..no reply via phone or email. Since I started this company there has been constant issues. I.e. keep getting generic email of late payment which i paid every month in full via auto pay. I've asked for a return phone call from the repair guy before they change the filter.... no eeturn phone call. I came home to a new filter. Just because I agreed to repair , I still would like to know what all will need to be done. I told Korie that I wanted to be there for the day of repair so I need to know the date so I can arrange for day off. Instead I came home to new pump. Now the leak that they want to charge another $300+. Again, the pool repair person does not want to talk to me. Two stars for one friendly office staff (korie). I've had nothing but issues w this service. When I was paying for the mini service, my chlorine levels were low and nothing was done to bring it up to acceptable levels. We had to do it ourselves (add $$ to the monthly expense there). Then they accidentally drained my pool halfway once. Good lord there goes my water bill, which they ended up "crediting" my account $40 to account for water loss (no clue if that's adequate) On my day off, I watched the the technician come to my property (we had a full service plan paid for) and he didn't do anything required from the full service. No brushing of walls, no netting. I had to go out there myself !!! I also found my pool basket thrown in my backyard. The tech did not put it back in the pump like he was supposed to ! Communication is terrible. What's the point of paying over $100/month to do t yourself. I am firing them asap. read more

I WILL EDIT/UPDATE my review if/when I hear back from PPS. So PPS was recommended to us by an associate. They came highly recommended. We just moved into our house and no NOTHING about pools. We had an initial pool inspection done and I was really impressed with the knowledge and professionalism of Brent(?), the pool inspector. I was so impressed with him that I was eager to start a regular service. Our 1st service visit was last Wed. 6/19/19. I had a unplanned doctors appt. so I was able to be there to communicate with the pool guy. So my mother was there. However I know we had agreed to pay over $1200 for a stain removal, fixing a couple of minor mechanics and CHEMICAL BALANCE. When I returned home there was still SOME stain around the pool though the steps which were BAD had been cleaned, the stain around the pool was still there AND no communication at all had be given to my mom. I had to call and arrange for him to come back out. He came out the next morning. He sprinkled some chemicals into the pool and after I asked, he quickly walked me through how some the system works. While he was there, I noticed the pool was SLIGHTLY cloudy and I was told that it should clear up. I took a sample to Leslies Pools on Sat 6/22 and was told the water needed chlorine and a couple of other chemicals were suggested. So I spent $90 for chlorine and ULTRA Bright to get rid of the cloudiness. Its now Monday 6/24 and the pool was has been so cloudy it has very little visibility and of course no one wants to get in it. Algae has now started to form!!! WTF!? Again I no NOTHING about pools but what I do know is we paid $1200 and our pool water is NOT swimmable and getting worse by the day. I called PPS office today and their system is down so they weren't able to assist me but was told I would be getting a phone call tomorrow. At this point we are feeling robbed BUT I'm really hoping PPS will provide us resolution to this problem. read more

We have a full service plan with Professional Pools which seems to now include a weekly algae ring. We've complained frequently. Each complaint has been met with an excuse and pushed back to us. Here are some examples, dirty pool filter, water too low, water too high, filter not running long enough, bad pump, water too warm, you must use the pool a lot and on and on and on. My response, the filter is cleaned regularly, new pump, new heater, new baskets, rebuilt sweep with all the maintenance done by Professional Pools except for the filter cleaning which we've done ourselves. We've had the pool for over 30 years, had it re-plastered, replaced the filters several times and had the other equipment replaced or repaired by Professional Pools. Every time we have the algae problem we get the same excuse, somehow it's our fault. I guess our full service contract doesn't really mean full service and just maybe doesn't cover ALGE. And guess what, WE USE THE POOL A LOT. This company has gone from 5 Stars to 1 Star for us this year. I have a lot more to say but will wait for the inevitable excuse that this is somehow my fault. I rarely ever leave bad reviews on Yelp but I feel others need fair warning when evaluating their investment of time and money. I have had an extremely frustrating and expensive experience with this business. I paid nearly $4,000 for a system "upgrade" that they couldn't get to work after disposing of the previous equipment that actually worked because they never assessed the wifi situation (apparently ATT is to fast to support the upgrade). I cancelled pool service after 2 months because my pool was literally turning brown in spite of weekly service and I was just ready to write off dealing with this issue with these people any further. I canceled my service in March and despite multiple calls to the business to remind them I am no longer a client, I repeatedly am invoiced on a monthly basis and am now getting late/overdue notices still. Just got another one today! Literally 3 months after cancelling! I feel bad giving this such a low review, but my experience with this company was nothing short of disappointing. I had their pool chemical service for about two months before finally cancelling my service. The person who I would talk to on the phone was always very helpful and nice. Customer service was never an issue. I never really talked to the pool cleaners, so I can't say anything about them on a personal level, but I do know how my pool was treated under their hands, and it was not good. First off, more times than not, I would come home to find leaves floating at the bottom of the pool and top, just to find that the pool vacuum bag was not secured properly. I had the velcro style bag, which you have to make sure to pinch tight when closing back up due to the nature of it being in the water. I never had issues with it opening back up whenever I did it, but seemingly every time they came by, it was open. Secondly, on multiple occasions I would come home to stuff being left in my backyard. One time it was a bottle, and another it was a huge wrench etc. But the biggest reason I am leaving this 1 star review is because my pool quality suffered under their chemical care. I do routine cleaning on my pool (brushing walls weekly, cleaning filters monthly, etc) and I just noticed my pool getting a bit of above average algae build up on my inner walls, as well as murky water. I contacted professional pools multiple times, and even left several notes on my box regarding the situation and they did nothing to fix the problem. In fact, it got worse and worse. Finally, I cancelled my service, then went out and bought my own chemicals, and was able to clear up my water in three days. They had one real job to do and that was to keep my pool water looking good and they failed. I have begun my services with North Bay Water and they have been extremely helpful. Communication has been superb and I feel like they really care about my pool. Not to mention they are cheaper by $10 a month over "Professional" pool services. This is the WORST most UNPROFESSIONAL and LAZY pool company I've ever dealt with. It has taken almost a year for them to replace a skimmer basket and they brought it after I fired them and it doesn't even fit, it has a hole in it, and it has quite obviously been used before. IF they do come on their scheduled day to service every week all I've ever seen them do is skim the pool and test the water. Even after they leave there is still dirt on the bottom because they've never even cleaned the filters or replaced them. I've put my pool cover on and they came walked in the back yard and left a note on the door requesting that I remove the pool cover on service days, a task that takes two seconds to complete and also that's what they're paid to do. There were no traces of chlorine. I invested in chemicals and started recovery. The pool service was to visit the next day, so I asked that the attendant be advised to contact me before adding chemicals. He did not contact me on arrival. I found him brushing the pool and asked why the pool was in such a sorry state. The attendant was resoundingly rude and hostile. I have called for the owner several times and he has not returned my call. I am left with an algae laced pool that will take days to recover! The attendant also reprogrammed my pool equipment for his convenience without asking permission or advising that it was done. This added significantly to my energy bill! Summer weather is here and my kids are out of school wanting to swim in our pool. The problem I had was my Pentair D.E. filter was spewing diatomaceous earth into the pool when the filter was running. My Polaris 380 pool sweep was down for maintenance at Leslies as well. I was told by the manager at Leslie's Pool that my pool sweep needed a full rebuild and that parts and labor would come out to be 190.00 with no guarantee?! I contacted my neighbor who was using Justin Ramsey owner/operator of Professional Pool Service. Justin said he would come out and provide a free estimate on getting my pool ready and that he would also check out the pool sweep (his specialty). The next day Justin arrived on time and knew exactly what the issues were with the pool filter. He explained the filter grids had broken and needed to be replaced. He vacuumed out the D.E. from the bottom of the pool and made some simple repairs to the Polaris Pool Sweep. The total cost 100.00 and the Polaris runs like new. Justin knows his stuff and is polite/respectful. He is unlike most service repairmen who are out to make a dollar and take advantage of customers. Recently, the low speed pump in my Sundance Spa failed. I wanted to have it repaired because I use it for my bad back and bad feet. I have had much trouble with a local dealer in the past, so I decided to use someone else. I selected Professional Pool Service to do the repairs based on their Yelp reviews. I called their office and Korie gave me an appointment very quickly, and Justin, the owner came by and gave me an estimate. He ordered the parts and replaced the pump with no problems. About a week later, the high speed pump developed a leak at one of the connectors. I called Korie and got another appointment quickly. I emailed Justin a picture of the leaking pump, hoping I wouldn't have to replace a second pump! Justin was able to replace the connector without replacing the pump. He saved me a good deal of money! My mom had her pool re plastered about a year and a half ago and after the first 6 months we started noticing cracks in the plaster, we caled and called them over and over with no response. finally after a year of calling we got a hold of them and they came out to repair the cracks. the repairs lasted only for a couple weeks and more cracks appeared. they refuse to return phone calls or come out. They charged my mom 14,000$ to replaster but there work is no good. The owner Justin refuses to call back and fix the problem. They are without a doubt the cheapest in town, but when we witnessed our pool guy pouring chemicals from a gallon jug, no testing was done, then he went and sat in our driveway for 20 before moving on to do the same at another house. I found our pool sweep and garbage at the bottom of the pool that had to be there for weeks, After calling in with the issue and canceling the service, we did not even get a call to apologize. I utilized this company for an one time service because I already have a pool service but they were excellent! The reason I called for their service was because I had my house painted and there was a windstorm accompanied by rain and a lot of debris ended up floating in the pool and also stuck at the bottom. I tried cleaning it myself but paint gunk and little paper pieces are frustrating to clean with the net and I don't have that much patience. The girl who answered the phone and called back to answer questions was upbeat and pleasant. The guy who serviced the pool was very informative AND he did an excellent job. Professional Pools is just that - TOTALLY PROFESSIONAL! They are the best pool service we have ever hired and we have owned our pool for over 30 years - so that is saying a lot! They keep our pool sparkling clean, they have excellent customer service (they actually pick up the phone when you call), they come out right away if I need something and the list goes on. I never have to worry, especially when I'm entertaining, if my pool is going to be cleaned or not. It looks fabulous all the time! Additionally, they service my hot tub and now it is sparkling clean too (I thought I could do it myself but somehow the days would go by and it would look too murky to get in - and after all, I bought it to USE it, right?). First, I want to mention that Justin, the owner is a pleasure to work with. He has always seemed honest and reliable. Unfortunately, he's not the one running the office or ordering parts. The problem I have with this pool company is that the office staff seems to have communication problems with their employees and customers. I ordered a pool cover BEFORE Labor Day, and it is now June 30. I was told the pool cover would be ordered and completed a while ago...still waiting. This honestly wouldn't be such an issue for me if the office staff bothered to call to update me on their delay. In addition to this issue, they took two and a half weeks to fix a small issue with a broken part because they forgot to order the part that we needed. I've been with this company for about 4 years now. Justin and Korie are amazing owners who work hard for their customers. The first 2 to 2 1/2 years I gave them a 4.5 rating. In late 2017 and 2018 I think they felt some major growing pain; including finding great employees both out in the field and in the office. This period definitely reflected on their reviews. In mid to late 2018 to current, I've seen an improvement; we have a regular tech, pool is sparkling, just got a reminder call that our booster pump is leaking.. greatly appreciated the heads up. I called the office and spoke to Kori regarding an issue I was having with my pool cleaner. She was very helpful over the phone in assisting me to diagnose the problem. When I was unable to do what she was instructing me to do, she sent over service manager Leroy in a timely manner and he was able to resolve my issue. I reported this guy to the contract license board but unfortunately they can not prove that he did any thing wrong(because I sign the invoice). They can not fault him for his work ethics. I instead wrote Better BB. They told the board that they are willing fix the leak for free and capped off the pipe (sloppy job and no regard for safety) They still has not contacted me to do that. I closed the case because they has cost me so much stressed that I had been in AFIB while dealing with them. I also left multiple voice messages for March service refund that I never got. I paid $120 beginning of March they came 1 out 4 times. Cory told me it would be refunded never recieved. Again my point is, what they wrote and told the board were never done. I have not heard from Justin since I agreed and close down the complaint. KARMA is all I hope for now. On positive note I learn to not be so trusting and next time will definitely get more opinions. I'll give Professional Pool Service 5 stars. They are very professional indeed! Justin transformed our pool/backyard into something I never even envisioned. Our old pool/ backyard area used to be the most boring place of the house. Now we just wanna hang out here and have guests and enjoy the relaxing and calming sound of water flowing. PPS tore the whole pool, installed new surface (pebble tech), coping stones and tiles, a new high tech led light that changes into different colors,then built me a deck and an outdoor shower. O, and the sheer descents (waterfalls) are heavenly! They also sealed the whole existing surrounding of my pool and installed deck-o-seal to make it look more nicer and clean. These people are one of the honest and nicest people I've met. They will do the extra mile to make the customer happy. I also had them do my pool cleaning service to maintain my pool's cleanliness and the balance of the chemicals. They are doing a great job! Justin answers my questions and returns my calls anytime I have some concerns. I will highly recommend them to anyone who wants a simple pool maintenance, to a total make-over renovation. We have been with them since 2015. See, my husband gave them 5 stars back then (scroll down). But beginning late last year, their technicians have been slacking off. I don't know what happened. We have been getting new ones who can't follow simple instructions of using the side door to access the pool. Also some excuses are they called in sick (i totally understand it, i do it too esp for my child) but we have the $100 monthly pool service where they visit once a week. If i a technician is sick one day, there is 4 more days, 8 hours/shift to send another one right? Isn't that the "professional way"? So we let it pass and it got windy, the fire happened. Horrible times. So the missed cleaning and scrubbing piled more dirt and debris. Guess what? The pool log said they came but the pool looked untouched. (We have security cameras all over the house btw, its like freaking 7/11 here, that's what my husband used to do for x amount yrs, so we can see if they actually clean the pool) Turns out they just change the chemicals and do not clean the leaves and scrub. We have been getting the $50 service instead of $100. Roscoe my husband called the office several times and Korie (very nice!!) she read him what the technician "reported" to do and THEN ALL THE WORK ORDER CAME. Do this do that.. we probably threw away $700-1000 give or take for the last 3-4 mos with them. But still our pool is not clear. The last straw is another $400 work order just to assess and see if there is a blockage to clear the pipe of the filter... You know what, I told my husband enough is enough. The new techs are all about money and recommendation and now we have a problem with our pump. Just to be fair our pump is old but still working. The old technician with a curly hair who always wears a cap (sorry i am poor with names and my husband is usually in charge with these kind of things, I only pay) I talked to him before asking if our pumps bad enough to be replaced? Same year actually but earlier.. you know what he said? In time, but its still working. He said, just make sure that the canister that's attached to our kreepy krauly is always empty, scrub the algea and that will take care of it. I tell you guys our pool are crystal clear with him being the tech. Now, the amazing part is we haven't been getting our pool maintained (still traumatized by this company) OUR POOL IS FREAKING CLEAR with debris that can be removed. It has been 2 mos since we left this company btw. It looks clearer compare to when the slacker techs are coming in. I don't know about you guys but I believe in Karma. I really do. Korie and Justin are super nice and accommodating but this kind of service will ruin their business. They need to hire better techs or idk make sure they are PROFESSIONAL and honest techs. Anyway, wish us luck looking for another cleaning service. We need a quote for a new pump too that can repair the damage Prof service did. If you are a pool service company contact me. We don't mind paying monthly again but we need a fresh start. God has given us this pool for a reason and its blessing. We scheduled our first appoiment = Justin was very flexible and arrived ontime + Despite the ugly raining weather that didn't stop him ++ And most importantly, he was very KNOWLEDGEABLE and answered all our ?'s +++ We are very staisfied and glad we chose him to come check out our pool! Called for advice on our old non-working spa. The technician was very professional an told us the plain truth about the spa. Gonna cost u more $ to get this working than invest in a newer used one. Even gave us a name of someone who would come and drain and remove this one for a small fee. read more
