I hired Earthwork Tree Services because I was afraid of a large, rotten maple near my home. My card has now been charged $2,275, and the maple is still standing. I want to be clear: I am not blaming the hardworking crew who showed up. They were skilled tradesmen, treated me well, and repeatedly confirmed that getting this dangerous maple down was the right call. I trusted them and would work with them again. My concern is with management's responsibility to make clear commitments, organize the work, and resolve an unfinished job. The maple was the reason I called. The company recommended removing two additional trees they considered questionable. I trusted their professional judgment and understood from our conversation that their bid for a day's work would cover what we discussed. They removed those additional trees and cut some branches off the maple, but never finished taking it down. Had the maple been removed first and the additional trees left for another day, I would not have this complaint. Instead, the suggested additions were completed while my original safety concern remained. It's like hiring someone to fix a leaking roof, accepting their recommendation for new gutters, and being left with new gutters while the roof still leaks. The workers may have done good work, but the company still hasn't resolved the problem you hired it to fix. They had my credit card on file and processed the $2,275 payment while the maple remained unfinished. I called to discuss it, but that concern was not resolved before the charge went through. I was then told it would cost another $2,275 to return and finish--a total of $4,550. When I questioned that cost, I was given another company's phone number. I couldn't comfortably afford the first payment outright. I relied on credit because addressing this danger mattered to my family. Now I'm paying that charge off, still facing hotel stays when high winds threaten, and being asked to find another full day's payment. I acknowledge the work that was completed. I'm asking management to acknowledge what wasn't: the original reason I hired them. Running a trustworthy company means taking responsibility when a customer's main concern is left unresolved. The crew cannot settle this billing dispute or decide whether the company returns without another charge. That needs to come from the owner. Please contact me and arrange a date to finish removing the maple without an additional charge. I would welcome the chance to update this review and say management listened and made things right. I trusted your company to help protect my home and family. I'm asking you to follow through.
