Dylan came to do our AC service and checkup. He was prompt and efficient. What I really liked was, upon finishing the job, he explained all that he had checked and showed me pictures of the readings he had received from his instruments and how they compared to "ideal" readings. Our AC is fairly new and all readings fell within acceptable parameters. He told (and showed me) that we are getting slight corrosion on the unit in our attic (perhaps from high FL humidity) but everything is functioning fine so no additional work was needed. read more

On 6/7/25 I inquired about getting a maintenance package as I just purchased my home and wanted routine maintenance done twice a year. They were quick to respond and asked what days/times I would be available. On 6/8, I responded with my availability. Received no response. I sent a follow up email on 6/12 and as of today, 7/4, still no response. I attempted to call and no answer and no call back. I guess they do not want new customers. Terrible customer service, completely incompetent. Multiple reschedules, no shows, techs leave for 3 hours during job. Parents needed new ductwork according to THEIR tech, but manager said we requested it since we are the AC experts. Really?! Company finally showed up in August to do the job. Took forever because tech kept leaving. Tech BUSTED three holes in parent's ceiling during job. Still not properly fixed. About a week ago, a different tech came and said there were gaps, openings, holes in ductwork so job wasn't finished. We never knew this and parents kept getting billed even though ceiling not repaired and job not complete. Friday they show up and tell us they ran out of mastic last time but never told us this in August. So ALL this time they have humid attic air blowing into house and cold air mixing with humid air. Not good!! Tried to resolve with manager but always an excuse. Can't even stay in home with 70% humidity. Supposedly the coils were cleaned, but we don't believe it. After they "finished" Friday they said they had to cover ductwork with insulation "so no leak". What?! Called yesterday to the answering service and she said she would get me the owner ASAP. Never got a call back. Definitely gone downhill since Mike sold the company to these people. read more

Commuting fraud by charging a credit line $9000 charge for an AC unit I did NOT receive.

Just moved to the area. My AC hadn't been inspected and serviced in awhile. They had a new customer discount and had positive reviews, so I had them come in. Dylan was great. Explained things. He stayed engaged as I followed him around asking him questions. He actually had to dig to find where the drain emptied outside. Found an issue that home inspector found that I had forgotten about. Signed up for ongoing maintenance, which isn't necessarily like me. read more

First of all, let me start off by saying that I would much rather leave positive reviews, but feel the need to let the consumers know the poor customer service provided to me by Vinson Heating & Cooling. On 11/15/23, Victor the estimator/salesperson came out to provide me a quote for a new AC install for my residential home. I was happy with the estimate Victor provided me and we started discussing install dates. I asked Victor the lead time and he said they could install it the next day if I wanted. According to Victor their warehouse on US HWY 19 stocks most AC units and specifically the one that I was quoted on. We settled on an install date and time of 12/6/23 at 0900 hours as this was the first day I was available to take a day off from work. Fast forward to 12/6/23 at 0844 hours. I received a call from Tiana (Office manager?) who advised that my compressor unit was still in/on the way from Tallahassee and the install would need to be scheduled for a later date. I was surprised as this was 15 minutes before the scheduled install, and I am just finding out now? I had taken a day off and lost a good amount of overtime for the week to get this done. Tiana was very unapologetic and blunt and stated that I would just need to reschedule. I advised Tiana that I would need to speak it over with my wife to find another date that worked for both of us, and I would call her back shortly. I called Tiana back at 0856 hours, but she did not answer the phone. I called the office at 0900 hours and spoke to Gianni who advised that he would need to call Tiana and call me back. I called Victor as 0912 hours, but he did not answer the phone. I texted Victor as 0914 hours, but he did not return my text. At 10:08 hours I received a text from 727-361-6507 advising "Your job with Vinson Heating & Cooling has been cancelled. Please contact us if you need more information or have any questions". I called the office back at 1500 hours as no one had reached back out to me. I spoke to Gianni again who now said he would need to call Victor to see what happened and he would call me before close of business. Fast forward to 1100 hours on 12/7/23, as I write this review and I have still not heard back from anyone. This is a complete lack of customer service and evidently a very inefficient office and leadership structure. As a veteran of our armed forces, I would expect better from a "4.9" star company. I am not sure how they keep such as a high rating as they severely lack communication and customer service skills. In addition, I don't see where a permit was pulled for yesterday's job with the county, so that is also interesting. I hope this helps other consumers out there before spending their hard-earned money or putting their trust in this company. I know I wont. read more

Vinson Air and employees are life savers. We have a home in Oklahoma And a small home in NPR. We flew in to Tampa yesterday 8/4 to discover the A/C at our NPR home wasn't working. It had to be 90 degrees in our home, if not higher. We called Vinson who had completed a different A/C problem in early July. Even though it was late in the day Vinson Air came to our home and worked on our older unit until it was working. These folks are honest, reliable and easy to work with. We highly recommend this company. We have had a few other issues needing repairs here in Florida and our experience with contractors wasn't great. But Vinson Air was prompted, they arrived when said they would be here. And in both instances, the cost of repair was more than reasonable. If, in the future we end up replacing our old heat & air system, Vinson will be the company we hire without hesitation read more

I have been a customer of Vinson Air Conditioning since 1996. I noticed they changed locations sometime in 2021(?). I wasn't due to have my a/c serviced and it was running well. However, at the beginning of August 2022, my unit stopped cooling. I contacted Vinson who scheduled an appointment. Once the technician arrived, I immediately got a bad feeling. This wasn't the company I had known previously. The technician was hard "sell". Sure, he could repair my a/c however, the bottom line was more important than the repair. My a/c had a coolant leak somewhere and it needed to be found. To replace the coolant that had leaked out (4lbs) and dye (to find the leak) cost $600.00, quite a bit over what I had expected to pay. Nonetheless, it was paid, and another visit was scheduled. I called the main office and asked to speak with the person who I have known as the owner (Mike). I was told he had stepped away from daily operations and the person on the phone (Spencer) could help me. But I wanted the owner, so I left a message for him. Never received a return call from him. This was not the company that I knew and trusted. I soon began to realize the company had either been sold or is "under new management". When my a/c failed again, I called Vinson, and they came out to check the leak. It was determined that the evaporator coil was leaking and needed to be replaced. The technician would find out if the part was available and get back with me. After not receiving a called I contacted the office, they were unaware of the problem and would get back to me. The subsequent called left my head spinning. Fist, the part wasn't available locally, may take 2 weeks to get and cost around $4,00.00. Secondly moments after that call, I received a call from the "field supervisor", this person was all about "selling", he stated they could put in a brand-new unit for $7,550.00. Which could be installed tomorrow. Sounded good? I didn't commit to anything over the phone. When I received their written bid, I immediately noticed that they wanted to install a 3-ton 14-seer (seasonal energy efficiency ratio) unit. I currently have a 3-ton 18 seer unit. A 14-seer unit is barely building code standard right now. The standard changes to a 15-seer January 2023. When I contacted the office about their bid, I was first told that I only had a 14-seer unit, because my unit was over 10 years old and supposedly, 18-seer units were not available then. They were wrong. Then, the "sell" changed to 14-seer was all I needed, everybody uses the seer rating, that's all they normally recommend, and "blah, blah, blah". The call ended with them agreeing to research a more energy efficient unit and sending another quote. I began my who research and found out the evaporator coil is available and would only cost $3,000.00 completely installed in 2 days. And in the meantime, a technician would come out and replace the coolant that had leaked out so that our unit would continue to cool us until the needed part was replaced. I never mentioned my conversation or correspondence with Vinson A/C. My bottom line is the whole scenario was designed to take advantage of the customer and play on their ignorance and desperation. Let's face. Florida is "hot" in August. Normally, the customer base in this area is elderly, widowed, and uninformed. A working air conditioner in this area could literally mean the difference between life and death. Who has the time to be an expert in home product repairs or even wants to be? The businesses providing these services need to honest, but unfortunately, they are not. Beware of dishonest unscrupulous businesses and this company tops the list. read more
