In the beginning of service with PHM they were great. I had incredible health insurance benefits with my employer (Intel) and everything was covered...no problem! Fast forward 6 months, and they started some auto refill for CPAP equipment. I said NO...several times. Then at 1 year same crap for CPAP. Fast Forward another year, and I needed a new rubber face contactor/cushion. They said oh no, we will go ahead and order the full annual supply kit for CPAP. I was now retired and had Medicare. They said no problem, my copay was approx $125, I paid it, and they sent kit to me (Approx $365 more to be paid by Medicare. No problem they said, we do it all the time? Then a couple months later they said Medicare wouldnt pay bc my primary care doc didnt put in a order for supplies? And there arent any retro provisions for what they already did? They said get an order from your PCP asap. I did but it was a couple months later. Too late. Medicare said the PCP order had to be made b4 PHM send supplies and bills Medicare. Well imagine that. Now they say Im on the hook for the full price order, and I said no way, you pressured me to get the whole damn kit when all I needed was a face cushion. Luckily I had several face cushions from my sleep study provider while there overnite. Since then I have been hit up for the balance...still. Im done with them. inconsistent and pushy. read more

I was very pleasantly surprised when I found out their price was a couple hundred dollars less than another place. She was great to work with, and so is the the gentleman who set up the CPAP for me! When I first started with this medical company, the owner was very helpful. This was my first time using a CPAP machine. It was overwhelming and quite frustrating. This company only has 1 respiratory therapist and she only works 2 days a week. She was out of the office for 2 out of 3 weeks and wasn't available during the Thanksgiving week, in the middle of those times. The owner tried to help me & told me that he knew the machine. This turned out to be inaccurate. I had to go to Youtube to figure out how to turn off the smart feature (which the owner claimed that it didn't have) so that my doctor's prescription could be used. The person that answers the phone, Toni was continually rude and quite short with me, when I tried to get someone to help me, over the 3 months that I was a patient. My insurance company has changed, so I will be dealing with a new medical equipment company. Thank goodness! read more

This Glowing Review should have been shared with you all on the 29th of December 2023, but I'm Finally Just getting to be able to write and post. This Team was Amazing at Progressive Home Medical. Please know this Company is the Alternative and you CAN rent equipment from them as long as you have an order from a Doctor and can self-pay. My initial phone call to Progressive Home Medical listened to my dilemma and instructed me what to say to the Company I was at to FAX the DR. ORDER to them. She calmed me down, let me know they were indeed open until 5p.m. (while the Co I was at said they had 2 orders ahead of me and were only open until 4p.m. and since it was a New Years Holiday weekend it was possible the order would not be completed until Tuesday. That could NOT be an option! This Progressive Team helped me to Demand (she did not use that specific word) to have the company Fax over the Dr.'s order, all the while, she was making sure she had one in stock for us and talking me through, sending me driving directions to boot. From Gilbert to Sun Lakes, picking up the Much-Needed Oxygen tank, paying for it (surprisingly cheaper too to rent for the month!) The Pharmacist and other staff member in store were so helpful too!! Such A Great and Caring Team and know how to help you through the panic. Bless You! And no, they don't give discounts because they already charge less than competitors!! I HIGHLY recommend this Company and its Professional Team! I really should have written a review the two times I previously had problems with this medical supply company. Once was several years ago when a lady who still works there kept calling me and harassing me because Mayo had not yet paid for items I purchased there. She had me in tears! The second time was when I took my mother to look for a walker. They were very overpriced, and we found one just as nice elsewhere for half the price. This time was because in January Mayo sent them a prescription for a CPAP machine for my husband. The machine my husband was given has not met his needs, and we just learned two days ago by his doctor at Mayo that the one he received was not the one that was prescribed. Progressive Home Medical won't take it back and give him a refund. We now have to see if Medicare will pay for the one he needs. We can get it at another supply company that carries a larger stock of supplies and equipment. Also, we payed them $150. in January. Then we got another bill a week ago. I had to call there and have them correct their billing error. read more

I rented the o2 machine to bring my uncle home from hospice and assisted living for $350 a week. The company was advised that it beeped & stopped frequently on the way home. Barbara told me she'd have to get the machine serviced once it got back; however, according to the manual it needed service when it was given to me. Now that they have the machine returned, they're trying to blame my Uncle's breathing and charge me $250+? I should have read the other reviews before dealing with this company. Inefficient, rude, hard to find info about product purchased! Would never use them again! There are too many places that know how to treat a customer! Purchased a wheel chair through a rehab service and needed to find info on purchase...... they were less than cooperative and basically hung up on me! I was trying to find the cost of the chair - What Medicare paid and what my responsibility is. No one could provide me that information, and when I asked them to send me a copy of the transaction, where I signed, the Rep, Janie, I believe, felt her only recourse was to put me on hold, and then release the call. This is the worst business I've ever had a transaction with. I rented a breast pump with them after I had a baby in 2015. I was never told the pump was rent to own (not the product standard) and then when I called to turn it back in 4 months later I was told my insurance had already paid for it and that I owned it free and clear. Let me be clear when I say I never would have rented this equipment had I known it was "rent to own" since I knew I would only breastfeed for a few months. Progressive Home Medical unethically never told me it was rent to own vs. a pure rental or I never would have rented it to begin with. When I began getting charged for the product a month later when I no longer used it or even owned it (had turned it into a recycling program for military moms) I was treated like an idiot by the billing administrator and even the owner. I wouldn't lie on the insurance forms as the company requested, so they continue to bill me for the product and I have filed a complaint with the BBB, which was closed with insufficient response from the company when the owner refused to respond because he knew his employees made several mistakes and wouldn't own up to them. This company has several incompetent employees as has proven to be the most difficult company I have ever worked with. It should be noted I work in corporate America as a program manager and have managed programs valued at $6M, in 5 different countries and have never this is by far the worst experience I've ever had. Unfortunately there is no way for me to truly fight the charge so I'll let it go to collections. One final note: the cost of a new breast pump (the model I got) on the producer's website is $500. Progressive Home Medical wanted to charge my insurance company $150/month for 12 months, or $1800 - no wonder insurance is so expensive!!!! Companies like this are basically committing fraud by overcharging and not being honest about the terms and conditions. We bought a motorized scooter for my disabled husband. We were told they did not file with the insurance, but we could file ourselves. After finally getting almost everything I needed to file, the last piece of information I needed was the tax ID number and the NPI number from Progressive Home Medical. When I called, I talked to Heather. She was rude, mean and very unprofessional! There was no way she was going to give me the information I needed. I told her she could call the insurance company directly and give them the information. She said NO!! She didn't want the insurance company calling and bugging her!! I asked if there was someone else I could talk to, she said NO!! They are the ones that said we could file ourselves, but then refused to give us the information we needed. Went into the Progressive office to order my CPAP equipment I needed. The original person I dealt with was awesome, forgot her name. Since then I have nothing but runaround from this company. Originally told me I was on an auto fill order and would not have to do a thing. That autofill never showed up and when I called they said they do not do auto fill orders. haha.... So, I was told he would contact my Insurance company. BCBS. He said it's takes about 2 hours to complete. ( I know better). but I would have everything I needed within a couple days. It's been 2 weeks now and still trying to get answers. Every time I call that person is out of the office, step out or won't be in today. Not real sure how this company is still in business. It's very easy to say that this company is run by crooks. I don't know another way to say it. I get my CPAP equipment from these folks (well, not anymore). When we came into 2019 Medicare programs had changed relative to this equipment. The first quarter of the year (this equipment is provided quarterly), the called me and stated they were ready to provide my equipment. I was told that my mask and cushions were very expensive, and that before they could provide the equipment, they needed to charge me $113.00 to cover the "expensive equipment." I paid and the equipment arrive. The next quarter the same thing, they charged me $118.00. After that quarter, I was talking to a friend who asked why I was paying for my equipment, that they were on the same exact primary and secondary insurers (Medicare and BC/BS). I didn't know, so I called BC/BS, and they informed me that this equipment shouldn't be costing me anything, and that they should not be charging me prior to any insurance claims being filed. BC/BS immediately called Progressive Home Medical and told them to provide me a refund for the $231.00 I had paid them and to stop what they were doing. A few weeks later BC/BS again called Progressive Home Medical to tell then to refund my money, in turn they told me I had a refund coming. I never received a refund, or any call to explain to me what they had done. I have now changed providers, based on a recommendation from BC/BS (they are conducting a follow-up investigation into the money I paid) and when I asked the new company my charges, they informed me that there was no charge for my equipment, it was all covered. Really! Progressive Home Medical is just a small time bunch of crooks, whatever your medical needs you should have nothing to do with them. Another little tidbit. The company claimed that BC/BS had not paid them one quarter in 2019. When I talked with BC/BS, they said they had sent Progressive Home Medican a check for $99.00. After some research, it was found that the owner of the company had cashed the check but hadn't bothered to tell the staff they had done it, so the staff thought BC/BS had never paid. No folks, they have paid, you just didn't know it. Wow, incompetence at the highest level. You can do business with these folks, but be forewarned, they will find a way to stab you in the back and take your money, they are NOT to be trusted! read more

In July 2017 I contacted them because my C-PAP machine broke and I needed to get a copy of my sleep study. (The company who had originally done my sleep study was out of business and the representative by the name of Gary told me that he had a copy on file). I was getting ready to leave for vacation so he told me they could give me a loaner machine - free of charge, to take with me on my trip. He also said that when I returned he would have a new C-PAP (that would be completely covered by insurance) ready and waiting. I never heard anymore from Gary so about two weeks after I returned I called him to see if my new machine was available for pick-up. At that time he told me he did not have a copy of my sleep study. I asked him why he told me previously that he had and he became defensive and started telling me how the computer system he works off of needed to provide him with more info and other garbled things that still did not answer my question. Anyway he said he knew of a company that probably had my sleep study records and he would obtain those and then get the process moving. ( I was glad I REACHED OUT TO HIM otherwise it would have sat there and nothing would have happened). I heard nothing from them until the end of august in which I received a bill for a mask I picked up (which was to be billed to insurance) and a bill for the C-PAP machine rental. WHAT??? He finally called me back today and said that he just got a prescription from my primary care doctor but still needed a copy of the seep study which they did not provide. I told him that we had been over this a few times and that my primary care doctor does not have a copy of the sleep study since it was done with someone else. He was supposed to go through the company that took over the sleep study program to get my original records. I also am having a hard time understanding why he would have had such a hard time getting my doctor to sign an RX when her office turns around every called-in RX within 24-48 hours. I decided to call the place that he said may have a copy of my sleep study records and low and behold they have a copy and he could have requested it without my consent because he was a medical equipment provider. I called Gary back to tell him he can get my sleep study records from Stars Home Health but I also wanted to make sure that I was not going to be billed for the machine rental as this could have been handled within a matter of days. He was very indignant, continued to interrupt me and told me he was not going to write off the rental of the machine. I told him to do no more with my account. I will NOT be ordering a C-PAP through them. I will go through a reputable company and give my business to someone who actually wants to work and assist a customer. I would recommend EVERYONE to STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. They will lie and make excuses and leave you financially responsible for their mistakes. read more

I returned a cpap machine to Progressive Home Medical which would have been owned free and clear after 1 additional $28 insurance payment by my insurance carrier. Due to my employer changing insurance carriers and Progressive not being contracted with them Progressive at first insisted I owed another years worth of payments and gave me an incorrect date of purchase. Luckily I saved the original invoice and proved the date they gave me as the purchase date as being incorrect. I was advised by my employers benefits office to return the machine and purchase one through the new insurance carrier. Even after returning the machine that they could then turn into the manufacturer for a full credit they continue to send me bills and refuse to remove the charges they say I owe which is $72.31 when it would have been free and clear after 1 additional $28 insurance payment. I purchased a CPAP machine from them 11-10-16 it is defective, the cost is just under $1000.00. They say it is a medical device and is none refundable. I requested one that actually works and was told they would not do that. My old CPAP which I have used every night for 6 years is just not preforming like it used too, I still use it though as it does not force air down my stomach randomly at night like the Res Med AirSense 10 they sold me does. read more

I would highly suggest that you find another place for your medical supplies. The customer service here is both incredibly rude and arrogant and not the least bit helpful. They also have no interest in standing behind their products, preferring instead that you shell out the money to buy new. Case in point: I bought a quad cane from them 3 years ago and replacement tips for the cane just this past June. Now they tell me they can no longer provide replacements tips as my cane is "obsolete." In fact, they told me tips for my cane were no longer available anywhere. How in the world can a cane become outdated in just three years? Newsflash: This is not a high tech item. By the way, I went online and found plenty of tips available to fit the cane and at a lower price even with the shipping. I know Progressive Home Medical always brags about being in business for 25 years; but I think if they want to remain in business many more years, they need to stop lying to customers about products and do a considerable amount of attitude adjustment. read more
