Either I don't lift weights, or I do too much too soon and I'm sore in a way that impacts my running. I've been a member for about a month, and I am really enjoying my workouts at Progressive Performance. Signing up for this gym keeps me accountable to strength training and I'm able to keep running in addition to building strength. More than that, I really appreciate how the trainers took the time to know me, my goals, where I've struggled in the past and are there to guide my workouts. The trainers are super personable, the workouts are a good challenge, and every other member I've encountered has been friendly, welcoming, and kind. Oh, and the gym is clean and well-equipped. "Coach Chelsea" or whoever is calling and constantly texting has been told to stop and she won't let up. She leaves incredibly weird texts and they DO NOT STOP hassling you. I've told them politely to stop calling and texting and they wont. I told them I would report them, and she still hasn't stopped. If people don't want to do your program, they don't want to do it. I don't get how they think it's okay to just harrass people into joining.

I met with the owner/trainer, Chris Meredith and he gave me the overview and philosophy for his business. It's a very positive focus on assisting clients to attain their individual fitness goals in a peaceful, beautiful setting. He tailors his training to his client's individual needs and tastes from encouraging them to really "bringing it" and challenging them to blast past their own barriers to a new fitness level. His website is still under construction, but don't let that prevent you from making contact and giving this new personal training studio a try. I found 1 on 1 Fitness on Yelp and decided to give them a try by enrolling in their 10 session package with an initial evaluation. The initial evaluation was quite an eye opener, confirming my suspicions about the poor status of my overall fitness. Over the past several months the trainers at 1 on 1 (Anna and Steve) have introduced me to a broad range of exercises to improve my fitness. One thing I appreciate about these exercises is that they are standard routines and movements that I can also do on my own at the gym.
