I go here as my boyfriend's guest from time to time. His membership has towel service, which is a lovely touch. The gym is HUGE and all laid out on one floor so you can see everything. They have some new touches like a pilates room which looks really nice. We went on a Sunday around 1pm and it was pretty busy, but we were generally able to get to the machines we wanted and get the weights we wanted without any issues. I would have preferred a little more "down" space to do stretching and bodyweight exercises, but we did find some spots. I personally get very overstimulated by the fluorescent lighting here, but that is probably because I am used to yoga studios and pilates. It seemed like there were people of all fitness levels here and people were pretty courteous. read more

My partner accidentally left his Owala bottle at this gym. He called the same day, and staff confirmed they had it and would set it aside with his name on it. When he returned to pick it up, it had been thrown away. Ani, the operations manager, took no responsibility and hid behind the "we're not liable for lost items" excuse - even though it wasn't lost. It was acknowledged, labeled, and held aside. They failed to honor a clear request and refused to offer any kind of resolution. It's not about the bottle. It's about the complete lack of care, professionalism, and accountability. Shameful customer service and puts a horrible taste in my mouth about LA fitness. I was contemplating switching to this gym, but now I'll avoid it entirely. Another Adventure at Totem Lake. Got to the gym at 6am (opens at 5am) and it remains closed. Only a handwritten note on the door saying "technical issue" - normally I wouldn't write a review, but this has happened several times at this location. Dozens of people standing outside ready for a morning workout and no communication from the gym. Unsure what the technical issue could be - from the outside the gym looks normal. It's very unprofessional for LA fitness to not communicate closures at the Signature Location. People depend on normal hours and it's very frustrating to show up and find this. (Again) Switching gyms is becoming very enticing. I'd advise others to go elsewhere... the gym is crowded, the equipment is run down, and the staff clearly doesn't care about patrons. Always fun to take pre workout and find a closed gym first thing in the morning. Do better LA Fitness. read more

The experience is getting much worse. They have these small lockers which could hold phones/ wallets. These have been broken for over 2 months and no action has been taken. I wonder if at all there is a management that takes care of these. No point raising these concerns with the staff. This club does not have any quality to qualify for a "Signature" club. The locker rooms are so untidy. They always run out of sanitizing wipes while they claim the shipment is (always) late. They delibrately order it late. The drier always breaksdown and they are out of towels. Chewing gums on almost all the threadmills. Water fountains are broken. I seriously wish there is a competitor that opens a facility nearby so that these guys improve. read more

I have been a member at this club about five years. I am an avid racquetball player. Approximately six weeks ago , Court 2 was closed for a glass door issue . ( it appears to be a faulty hinge ) I have asked many times what is the status of the repair . As of today ,still NO information on when the court will be available to use . DG read more

The facility is in very poor condition. It appears they have far too many people enrolled to maintain basic cleanliness standards. The pool, in particular, is concerning--many users do not shower beforehand, effectively turning it into an unsanitary environment. Management does not seem to address these issues. For example, I've noticed the same piece of gum and a used bandage in the shower area for weeks, which suggests the space is not being cleaned regularly. I also attempted to report a hand soap spill in the men's bathroom to a staff member, but there was an English language barrier that prevented the issue from being addressed. read more

Take your pepper spray with you when at this gym. Now I know why law enforcement is always there,even early afternoon. Pool is hazardous levels of excess fumes from staff cleaning windows and floors during open swim times. Also chlorine so corrosive that it burns your skin and lungs. Crazy that the company doesn't provide slip resistant tiles and no rubber runners to prevent falls. Seniors also ignore no diving signs. Get anxiety from watching seniors dive into 3 ft shallow end of pool. read more

WARNING , do not give them access to your bank or your credit card! It's been over three years and they have continually charged me after I have unsigned up multiple times. I get 2 to 4 phone calls every single morning from LA fitness and it's time for the CFPB to be involved. Try talking to a manager or being very proactive in anyway it will get you nowhere so whatever you do don't work out here. You'll thank me later. I had been a member of this gym for 9 years, but the neglect, the numerous broken machines, and the two times my car window was broken in the gym's parking lot made me leave this gym. The manager, named Hannah, has no consideration for the gym members. The last time my car window was broken, she showed me that there were two cameras that directly covered my car, but in one month I contacted her six times and nothing was done. To make matters worse, each of the six times I contacted her, she always asked me to write my name and phone number on a piece of paper, as if she threw them away as soon as I left. Simply no consideration at all; they only want to receive the money but do nothing for the people who frequent this gym. Warning: Do NOT sign up for personal training at this location I'm really disappointed with my experience at the Kirkland LA Fitness -- especially with how the personal training program was sold to me. I was told I could cancel anytime, but after signing up, I found out I was locked into a 9-month contract with a 50% cancellation penalty. None of this was clearly explained before I signed, and when I asked directly about canceling, I was told it wouldn't be a problem. That turned out to be completely false. The person who signed me up (Jesse) was super responsive and helpful before the sale, but once I asked to cancel, he stopped replying and was never available when I came in to talk. It honestly feels like I was tricked and then ignored once they had my signature. If you're thinking of joining this gym, please do NOT sign up for personal training unless you are 100% sure about a long-term commitment. The way they push contracts without fully explaining them is shady at best. I've since learned that many others have had the same experience -- just check the reviews. I expected better from a brand like LA Fitness. I hope they fix this, but until then, I can't recommend this location to anyone. read more

I hate to leave bad reviews, and more importantly I wish it wasn't like this, but why is it so hard to cancel a membership here. Tried calling over the phone over 6 times, and every single person gave a different type of answer. One said I have to go in person, and some said I could do it online through the app, but then there was no option. I was trying to cancel over the span of over 4 months, and no progress. Then I go today on a Saturday because this is my only free time, and they tell me I have to come back Monday through Friday. So many hurdles that I've never had to deal with except here at LA fitness to cancel a membership. Gym is also very outdated, and would recommend your money/time is spent else where. Also if you plan on going peak time 4pm-7pm don't expect to find any parking in their parking lot. read more

Unfortunately a very disappointing experience here. The parking lot is often full, half the machines are permanently down for maintenance, and the pool is a mess - often full, no lifeguard, no order, with people cutting in while others are waiting for a lane. I have seen at least one altercation at the pool due to this. Finally, I've been swimming all my life but got my first ever staph infection within a few weeks of joining. I can't definitively say that I got it at LA Fitness however the timing is concerning. read more

I was excited to get back into shape -- but unfortunately, my experience has left me feeling misled, pressured, and deeply disappointed. When I scheduled my complimentary body composition reading (a benefit advertised to all new members), I had no idea it would turn into an aggressive sales pitch for personal training. During the appointment, I asked early on about pricing, as I didn't want to waste anyone's time. Instead of giving me a clear answer, Jesse, the personal training director, kept dodging the question and pushing through a script. I work in an industry that involves sales -- I recognized the tactic -- but I was courteous and sat through it. When the prices were finally revealed, I was shocked. I told him I wanted to speak with my husband before making a decision, but he continued pressuring me, saying I was getting a "one-time only" deal at $140/month for two 20 min sessions. Feeling uncomfortable and overwhelmed, I signed up -- with the intention of canceling after I had a chance to talk with my husband. I called the front desk the very next morning. They told me they could cancel my upcoming training session, but that Jesse would need to cancel the actual contract. I waited around all day and even followed up several times. Jesse didn't reach out until later that night -- and told me I "no-showed" and wouldn't be refunded. I explained that the front desk told me it had been canceled, and I never would have missed it otherwise. He offered me a make-up session, but I just wanted to cancel the entire thing. Eventually, he agreed to cancel my contract, but then told me I needed to come in *in person* with my ID -- despite already having all of my information. I couldn't make it that Saturday due to my twins teething all night and needing rest before work, so I emailed in advance. When I came in a few days later, he was visibly annoyed and said sarcastically, "Remember how I told you to come in on Saturday?" At that point, I reached out to **corporate**, hoping for professionalism and resolution. Instead, I was treated with the same level of disregard. I spoke to someone named CJ, who promised to call me at 1 PM with a resolution. When I hadn't heard anything by 1:30, I called back and another rep told me he couldn't reach CJ. I had clearly stated that I did *not* want to speak with Jesse again -- and yet instead of a proper follow-up, **they had Jesse call me again**. During this final call, Jesse offered me complimentary personal training sessions *if* I chose not to cancel -- or, if I still canceled, said the two sessions I never attended would not be refunded. I told him I wanted to cancel. I also expressed my frustration that he had withheld the fact that I could've canceled the contract **online** from the beginning -- which would've saved me days of stress and unnecessary back and forth. His response? More sarcasm: "I believe those signatures on the contract are yours, and it says right there that you can cancel online." I told him that like most people, I didn't read every single word of the fine print when the contract was rushed through with me. It was clear to me by then that he had no genuine intention to help, nor any empathy for the people he works with. Jesse's tone, demeanor, and approach have been by far the most unprofessional I've experienced in any customer-facing role. It's upsetting that someone like this is in a leadership position at LA Fitness. This entire experience has been incredibly disheartening -- especially as a new mom simply trying to take care of her health. I'm sharing this in hopes that **corporate leadership** sees it and reconsiders how they allow their staff to treat members. No one should be manipulated or guilted into financial commitments they can't afford, especially not in an environment that's supposed to support your health and well-being. read more

They used the fact "you can end your membership online or over the phone" to get me to sign up but now they are telling me I have to do it in person. No different from planet fitness at all besides it's just bigger. I had to change cards and the second I did they spam called me 7 times a day (at work) to get me to fix it. getting rid of the membership and not using LA fitness again smh read more

I travel for work and will visit LA fitnesses in different states. I paid an extra $10 for this signature location in Kirkland. Kirkland is a very nice area, however I'm disturbed by the cleanliness of the location. It's far from signature. Really gross experience! I don't do gymnasium reviews very often but I have something to comment about this LA fitness. Pros: The swimming pool is pretty organized, 5 lanes x 25m length. Private coaches available every Sat&sun but need to reserve in advance, however normal weekdays the pool become packed by young swimmers. The treadmill is also usable during nighttime. Clean changing rooms. Group yoga class seemed fun. Cons: First of all here is no private parking lot so lock up your car every single times while stealers might be lurking nearby. Secondly, cancellation of membership may be a hassle to deal with as we keep getting billed from them. I had to go cancel mine at the Renton location hence they know exactly what they are doing. My mom and I are now going to the 24 hour fitness near where we live. read more

For a "signature club", it didn't seem all that premium compared to a regular LA Fitness. I went with gympass, so I'm not sure what the regular pricing is but I would not pay extra for this facility. I used the pool, and they didn't have towels the day I went -- they said the dryer had broke the day before so drying off out of the pool was a mess. You'd think they'd have a backup for this (like a spare machine), but they just had a stack of dirty towels accruing in the locker room from the prior day (they coulda atleast removed the dirty towels!!!). The pool was also pretty gross -- it was grosser than the LA fitness Bellevue location. I saw major discoloration on the floor (brown marks). Looked like the pool needed a major cleaning. read more

My wife and daughter were taking a swimming class at the pool, and tried using locker room for changing. They were *kicked* out of locker room because "kids are not allowed". Why are you making kid swimming classes if you don't allow kids in the locker room? You can't even enter pool without going through lockers! I don't care if it's a new or old "policy". It's an open discrimination, it's unreasonable and not acceptable. read more

Super confusing and slimy sales tactics was told I could get 4 people 1 week free no problem they took their information .. went in the next day with one of those people and they let us in no problem .. day after that some extremely rude front desk worker singled me out and pointed over the the corner where he instructed me to wait with my friend after denying me entry .. there I was approached by the sales manager who continued to tell me I didn't have any free week memberships that my friend was supposed to have a code (which they never sent like they were supposed to) he then proceeded to push a membership on my friend saying things like "oh what else do you need to see?" "That should be enough for you to decide" really unprofessional so we left without even using their facility that day .. such a shame .. switched locations (same brand LA fitness) and the staff was way more chill and let me in no issues. read more

It's a good place for a workout, but they're terrible when it comes to cancellations. I moved out of WA, and my new location didn't have any LA Fitness. So, I called them and told them that I wanted to cancel, but they told me I had to go in person. A month later, I flew to WA and when I went to the gym, I was told I have to go during the week; I told them this was ridiculous and I could not do that since I work and they had to cancel my membership; seeing how upset I was they told me it was fine; but they still charged me so I changed my debit card so they would not charge me anymore; Then the phone calls started and no matter how much I explained they kept calling; Their last words were I had to give them my new card number and they will charge me one month and then they will refund it; They are so stupid and unprofessional. Of course, I did not give them my new card number, but they got that through my bank, so I had to call my bank and put a stop to it. read more

Currently trying to cancel this membership fee as it doesn't meet our current situation. They are incredibly difficult when it comes to cancelling your membership. It has to be done M-F from 9am-5pm with a specific manager. These times are when normal people work and /or are commuting home. So we are unable to cancel. They are unwilling to work with us when we call to set up an appointment for a time that works best for their customers. One would think, can anyone cancel the membership for you? The answer to that would be no just the "supporting" manager whoever that is. You would think that a company in the 21st century would allow you to cancel online or through their app? Nope, not this place you will have to take a day off of work (because everyone wants to spend their day off of work to do this) and cancel your membership. In my mind, that's ridiculous. Also, don't even bother calling and asking about canceling. Because no one that answers the phone has an answer and they will say "sorry, there's nothing I can do". AND the worst part is, you can't even yell at them through the phone cause it's pointless to yell at someone that knows nothing and can do nothing live laugh love this company read more

It was never mentioned to me that i would be charged a full year at $3200 and $1600 to cancel which is 50% of the total for the year to cancel my membership. The person who signed me up, his name is Jessie. The girl working the front desk said that Jesse has a track record of deceptive practices. No one would put me in touch with Jessie.
