My muscles are sore, I've worked up a good sweat, and I'm proud that I pushed through another workout. One of the reasons I picked Grant over someone at my local gym is that he has numerous certifications and continuing education. He keeps up on fitness techniques and nutrition. He's given me some great ideas for healthy eating. He's very positive and motivating. And he's great at gearing your workout to your goals and health issues. The gym itself is large with plenty of the typical stair climbers, treadmills, stationary & recumbent bikes. There are free weights, a punching bag, and enough equipment so you rarely have to wait for any machine. It's clean and bright with TVs to watch or music to listen to. There are live and virtual workout classes. They have multiple personal trainers. There's even a dry sauna in the changing area. Oh, and did I mention the hydro massage chairs?! OH MY GOSH! What a way to end your workout but to sit in one of those chairs for 10 minutes and get a relaxing massage. The gym is clean and the staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Towels are plentiful and included in your membership. I find the price more than fair for the value received. If I had one suggestion, it would be to improve the parking. The gym is always packed when I work out, and the parking lot is inadequate for the number of cars, especially considering a fair number of the cars are full-size and it can be hard to maneuver into and out of spaces.

The problem: we're amazing at talking ourselves out of going to the gym. To hold ourselves more accountable, we decided to have a trainer come to our house, which is hands down one of the best decisions we've ever made. We were VERY out of shape, and that first free training session with Cat was all it took to show us how much in-home personal training could benefit us. We're 4 months in, we've lost a combined 65 lbs, and we've never felt stronger or more motivated. All of this because of the amazing Cat who comes once a week to whip us into shape! She's always super prepared, high energy, and helpful. She creates personalized workouts for us both for her in-person sessions and our other weekly workouts, adds in workarounds as needed for physical limitations, gives us a range of intensity for activities, and genuinely cares about our well being. I don't have time to argue w her so I just decided to let folks know, la fitness (shocker) is out to rip us off. They don't care about doing to right thing, close their location without 30 days notice so they can scam customers out of another months pmt for something they can't use.

We did the 9 AM workout with Coach Anna. I struggled with push presses and Joel and Anna were there to walk me through the movements when my form was not correct. Thank you! I ended up hurting my lower back through work and wasn't able to do any heavy lifting. Kirk offers MLT (manual ligament therapy) which helped tremendously with my sprained ligament. Fast forward to 2022 later, I have not seen Kirk for almost 6 years. I am 8 months pregnant, live in another state, and have sciatica nerve pain in my lower back. I called him out of the blue because I didn't know what I could do in terms of stretching and rolling out safely with me being super prego.
