I have been coming to this office for at least the past 8 years and in that time I can say I have seen the ups and downs. About a year or two ago you could NEVER make an appointment and it would drive me NUTS. Hours on hold, no call backs, it actually forced me to see someone else. But - I can say they have made SIGNIFICANT improvements. I am able to get an appointment within 5 minutes or so every single time I call, and there are no more 2 hour waits in the exam room. I do not recommend this office at all. The bedside manner is really bad. Appointments feel rushed and dismissive, and there is very little compassion or communication. Concerns are not fully addressed and there is little effort to make patients feel comfortable or reassured during visits that are already stressful and vulnerable. I never felt truly listened to the handful of times I have been here. The wait time is completely unacceptable. Every single time I've been here, I've waited well over an hour, even when I arrived early and checked in on time. This is not a one-off situation. It is every visit. If you have work or anything else to do that day, expect your plans to be completely disrupted for the day. Communication from the office is extremely poor. I have called multiple times trying to get results from a procedure that happened weeks ago, with little to no follow-up. Calls are not returned, messages go unanswered, and patients are left waiting and worrying about important medical information. Having to chase down your own results is stressful and should not happen in a medical office. the Suffolk OBGYN Patchogue office feels disorganized and unprofessional and basic patient care seems to be an afterthought. Between the long wait times, poor bedside manner, and lack of communication, this office creates unnecessary stress and anxiety. There are much better OB GYN offices out there that actually respect their patients. I would give zero stars if I could. I would strongly suggest going elsewhere. read more

Wrong address. They moved and didn't bother to change it on Apple maps, and so you get to have the fun experience of rapidly googling where to go, getting put on hold for 20 minutes or so trying to figure it out, and then running late for your appointment. read more

This place is horrible! They took 3 days to send over a script after calling numerous times and finally going down in person! The doctor marshak thinks she's a police officer, interrogating my wife about my cannibis use. And Debbie's nasty self don't know how to properly leave a message. Rude. I do not recommend this place at all. Do yourself a favor, skip right over these inconsiderate unpleasant office. Now I've been coming to this practice for 5 plus years and I have never waiting so long in the waiting room nor have I had such inappropriate and unprofessional behavior from a doctor or any staff members at this establishment. My appointment today was @5:45pm I got there @5:20pm and I was roomed after 6:20pm and that's after asking the receptionist when I would be called back.Now this doctor,Dr.Patrick Schreiber made a very snarky comment outloud and the walls are very thin at this office and he goes "Well tell her to go back to her primary since they did the pap then"! And completely astonished by the inappropriate and unprofessional behavior from this doctor,and as I seen him going past in the hallway I said to him "Hi are you the doctor I am supposed to be seeing today ?" By this time it is 6:45pm and he goes yes,the other doctor called out and I'm seeing another patient in a very snarky way! Now I am not blaming the staff,but however if this was the case I would have been fine being rescheduled with at least a hour notice! I was not informed of anything talked to checked up on by none of the medical assistants and or nurses in this facility (after the initial triage I had with one of the MAs).Now I am a medical assistant myself and I have been for some times and all I can say is I am utterly disgusted by this doctors actions and the lack of care that was present at my "appointment" earlier today! I walked out infuriated and I will be filing a formal complaint with the Board of Health and calling to complain to the higher ups or supervisor. read more

I'm going to start this review with a trigger warning that this does have to do with a miscarriage. It has taken me a little over a decade to write this down but I'm finally ready. I was a patient at this practice, when it was just Suffolk OBGYN, when I was about 23-24. My then fiancé and I found out we were expecting, us and our families were over the moon! We went for our first appointment and everything was great! Fast forward to 2 days before the start of the 2nd trimester. I woke up and felt cramping, I noticed there was a little bit of blood, I called the doctors office and decided to shower while I waited for a call back- there was more blood in the shower. I get out, get dressed get makeup on and still no call back so I call again, explain that I'm bleeding and I need to speak with a doctor, again I get told that they will call me back. At this point I'm fearful for the worst, get in my car and drive to the office, from Mastic to Patchogue and as I parked my car outside the office my phone finally rings and it's the doctors office. I tell them I'm outside and reluctantly the nurse tells me to come into the office. I get into the room and I sit on the table- she asks me to get off the table and tells me she won't examine me- now at this point I should have been more forecful and demanded to be seen but I was scared and alone. She told me some bleeding was normal And I told her I knew my body and I knew something was wrong. She was very dismissive of me. She told me if it got Worse to call back- a few hours later it was worse, clot after clot, so I call Back and she tells me they are closing early and if I'm insistent on being seen I have 20 minutes to get there- I was at work, in Riverhead, but I made it and so did my family, then fiancés family and fiancé was en route. I get brought back to the sonogram room, lay down and then it happens, I see the look in the technicians face (she was the only wonderful person in this story) she had a tear in her eye and as she said no heartbeat my then fiancé walked in the room. I had this deep grief stricken sob. I have never been treated like that prior to or since this happened and now have amazing, beautiful kiddos but this practice is the absolute worst that iI have ever had the unfortunateness of dealing with. It's been about 12 years since this happened and I doubt the doctors or that nurse are still there, I made complaints at the time but I feel it's important to get my experience out there because this shouldn't happen to another expecting mom! read more

I saw Dr Strittmatter for my first appointment here to confirm my first pregnancy. Sadly, a few weeks later I learned that I had miscarried and had to have a D&C. Dr Strittmatter was so compassionate, professional and reassuring during such a vulnerable time and made me feel so comfortable, and for that I am so grateful. I have never had a doctor that I trusted so much and felt so confident being in his care. read more

This office is dirty. I have seen it first hand! The instruments used during the visits had residue on them, very disturbing and disgusting. The staff can be very nasty and rude. SOME doctors are caring but the company overloads them with patients so it really is hard for them to give that time to which a patient deserves. Staff will speak about patients while they're still in the waiting area. Just be aware. read more

I'm in the currently coming towards the end of my 3rd pregnancy and switched to this practice after relocating last year. I must say, I've read all the other reviews and cannot relate to their experiences. Every appointment I've had, the entire staff have been incredibly kind and helpful. I've seen 4 doctors so far, 2 of which were standouts for me personally- Dr Petracho and Dr Strittmatter. They are both exceptional and I feel extremely comfortable in their care. Lastly, I'm literally in and out for every appointment. Couldn't be happier with the switch. read more

I had a pap done at the end of June. The company just added this new online portal where you can check test results etc. I was never contacted about the fact that I could potentially have high risk cervical cancer. I have been calling for the last two weeks and can't get a single person on the phone. I've left several messages with detailed information and zero returned calls during this two week period. No one called to tell me these test results or explain anything to me at all. I'm left confused, upset, and wondering what my next steps should be. Suffolk Obgyn doesn't seem to care at all. Lastly, on the my chart website it states an Amber Weiss Lpn spoke with me on August 2, 2021. We never spoke, no voicemail was left and no contact was made. I don't have a missed call either. The first time I went here, I didn't have a complaint. I don't remember what doctor I saw, but it went well, and I got the birth control I needed. A few minutes ago, I tried to call and this woman answered and immediately started being rude to me. I haven't been to this office in months and I was so upset that when she put me on hold to check for an appointment, I hung up. I will not be doing anything more with this office. Rude people on the phone who basically make you feel bad about their mix up and they won't help you over the phone they want you to come in and waste your time so they can charge you and so hard making an appointment. They are not easy to work with on the phone and people are rude. read more

Staff was very friendly. It was my first time seeing Ariana and I will only be seeing her from now on, she is so sweet and knowledgeable. I've had terrible experiences at other offices before and it's a relief to have a obgyn office to feel comfortable going to. Even the woman who brought me to the room to change and take my blood pressure was so sweet and made me feel so good about being there. We even share a birthday Ariana answered all my questions and made me feel more confident in choosing a birth control option and never made me feel nervous or rushed or judged. Amazing. read more

I just had my appointment with Prohealth Care. I forgot my insurance cards.....same insurance but different numbers, Maddie at the front desk could not have been more helpful, She arranged for me to be seen & I just emailed her copies of my cards. Pamela, who took my blood pressure, etc.was very pleasant. My doctor Mindy Shaffrin, who I've been seeing for about 30 years, was professional, as always. She asked i I had any questions or concerns & checked to make sure I was going for a mammogram & sonogram and discussed other tests I should be thinking about. All in all the office staff & Dr Shaffrin made the visit as pleasant and expeditious as they could. I would recommend this practice to anyone who needs a comprehensive and caring OB/GYN. This office is ripping off patients. If you have three procedures done in one visit, they must charge you only one copay. Not three! Be watchful of this. It has happened to me twice. This place is terrible. They didn't bill me correctly and put me into collections immediately! No notice given. I paid the collections because there was nothing I could do at that point. A year later, I tried to make appointment and they had no note of me paying the bill and then said that there was an additional 33% charge I had to pay. Why wouldn't they tell me that when I paid the collection fee over a year ago?!?! Find a new doc. read more

After having my first child via emergency c-section, Dr edwards, made me go thru 20 hours of brutal labor, before finally giving me a c-section. He guessed my baby's weight at 6 lbs when i was clearly much larger, the next day when i gave birth, she was actually 10lbs 10 oz. What kind of evil doctor does that? they dont listen, and god forbid you owe them $75, they refuse to see you and demand $100 "minimum" because they sent it to collections. this is the same office that sent me a certified bill two days after Hurricaine Sandy hit. I explained i'm having an emergency and need to see the dr today, and that's what they told me. That I need to pay a minimum of $100 before I am able to make an appointment. I went to for my first examination after took a pregnancy test and got a positive results. This was the most degrading experience I've ever had at any doctors office. So let me walk you through my awful experience. I call for an appointment and I was put on to the billing department because the receptionist was not sure if they accepted my insurance. The girl in the billing Department Vicky was very nice, she confirm that they do not accept my insurance but if I would like I can do a self pay for which I agreed. The morning for my appointment the receptionist made sure and took my $225.00 before I was even allowed to see the doctor. I was called into the examination room, when the doctor (Sarah Karalitzky) came in she was scattered, she told me she did not have her computer it was in the other room, and proceeded to write down my information on a single post it. She was looking up at the ceiling while talking to me as though she was looking for the information there. Without any examination she just guessed that I was 6 weeks pregnant and even give me an approximate due date. Then she did a Pap smear and place the sample in a container never sealed it and left the room. When I was leaving the look on there faces was numb and no smiles. After I left the office I got a phone call telling me that they would not be able to see me anymore because their procedures are too expensive and and then asked if I could afford their fees. I was so pissed, I called my husband and told him I have to find another doctor, I can never go back to this place ever again. read more

I've been going here for years only because it was the only place nearby that took my insurance- I'm happy to say I've finally gotten new insurance. It's nearly impossible to get an appointment- they never answer the phone. Typically need to call about 10 times (no joke). When you finally get through, the receptionist is almost always rude, and has no clue which office or doctor you've been seeing. I've tried many of the doctors at this office- the only decent one has been Petracho. The office itself is disgusting- like a welfare office. Makes you feel like you'll catch a disease just being there. Always long waits in a depressing waiting room, dirty and with sad construction paper decorations like an elementary school. The exam rooms are just as bad, they seriously need an update. The doctors have ranged from dismissive to downright insulting. Now, to add insult to injury, I was told I need to go in person (inconvenient since I moved) to sign a form to release records to my new doctor, and, I need to pay for the records!! Have never had this issue with any other doctor transferring records. My new doctor also informed me that I may have some complications which should have been easily detected by this office given my history, and that he was surprised they hadn't tested me. All in all, save yourself the grief and go elsewhere! read more

The doctors in this practice are wonderful, but the office staff are obnoxious and rude. When you call for an appointment, the call gets transferred straight to music and you will wait a minimum of a half hour. They give conflicting and inaccurate information because they can't be bothered to listen. Olivia is the worst, she is rude and has no people skills. I have been with my doctor there for 20 years and he is the best, but the office has become terrible They clearly look to make problems, rather than solve them. They blame everything on protocol. I went here for my first exam and to discuss birth control. The entire staff acted as if I was inconveniencing them by being there, and the doctor was extremely rude. Dorothy spoke down to me the entire time, ignored many of my questions, and even rolled her eyes at me at one point. I left with a prescription to a pill that I knew nothing about and was given no knowledge of side effects. This whole office treated me as if my business was a nuisance. read more

If you want to spend your Saturday morning in a waiting room, Suffolk Ob/gyn is the place for you! The minimum wait is typically 45 minutes. Once the doctor or nurse practitioner finally sees you, you will be met with a condescending, snooty vibe, in which you will somehow end up feeling guilty, ashamed, and remorseful about your body- even though you have done nothing wrong! Considering the uncomfortable nature of these visits, the staff at this office are not motivated to ease your anxiety and they lack bedside manner entirely. I spent my early 20's saddened by my diagnosis of polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS)- a diagnosis I received from this office. Nearing 30, I was later informed by doctors at other offices that I did not have PCOS; in fact, I did not suffer from ANY of the symptoms characterizing the disorder. This was the first of 2 misdiagnoses I received from this office. The secretarial staff also lacks respect for the patients. After receiving my second Gardasil shot, I was instructed to sit in the waiting room for five minutes prior to driving home since the shot could lead to fainting. Sure enough, after several minutes, I felt my skin turn pale, my ears began buzzing, my vision slowly began blacking out, and I was at the beginning stage of fainting. I stood up and carefully approached the receptionists. With my arms resting on the table to support me from falling, I whispered, "I'm going to faint, I need water." Even though I must have clearly looked ill, the cold receptionist had me escort myself through the hallway to the bathroom to get water where I fainted alone on a hard floor. Luckily I did not injure myself. But seriously? For medical professionals, these people certainly lack empathy. The receptionists should have at least been concerned about the office's liability if I had cracked my head open. This serves as a perfect example of the lack of care I've experienced here. I will never come here again for an "annual" (I say this term loosely, because they make you come more frequently than every year to greedily collect your co-pay). read more

Where do I even begin. The receptionists are rude, not helpful, their systems are always down. They never can make me an appointment when I am done with my visit. Every time I call I never get anyone on the phone, for anything or to make an appointment.I have waited over 35 minutes to even get a person on the phone and when I do; we ALWAYS get disconnected and when I tell them someone hung up on me, they don't even apologize. It's complete bullshit. The doctors aren't horrible, but they are very insensitive and not personal. I left my other gyno to go this one, I heard some good things from people but I really I regret it. So now I will have to be back to square one and find another gyno. read more

I would highly recommend not going to Suffolk OBGYN in patchogue. I was a patient there until recently for seven years. I've been told numerous stories of extreme negligence by friends and family members who were also patients there. During my most recent visit the doctor had the wrong patient information and did not realize until half way through the exam then scurried out of the room in a panic. I will NEVER be going back there and I hope that all women I know will do the same. read more

If I could give this practice no stars I would!!! I decided to go with an ob closer to home for my pregnancy. What a mistake that was! I had a sonogram where the doctor sat across his desk from me telling me that everything looked good but kept stressing that my age (I'm in my mid 30s) put me in a different category. 2 days after my sonogram I started bleeding. I was told by the nurse that called me back that this was probably related to the transvaginal sonogram I had and to keep my regular scheduled appointment the following week. Well the following week I sat there and watched in horror the last few heartbeats my baby had. We were then placed in a room where we sat for 45 minutes waiting for the dr. At that time we were told that the sonogram last week had shown a low heartbeat. I couldn't believe it because that dr had told me that the baby looked good!!!! I was told since there were still a few spontaneous weeks to return the following week for another sonogram but that miscarriage was going to happen. A few days later I was in the ED with cramping and a sonogram confirmed fetal death. I called the office the next day and was told to keep the appointment. There they wanted to do yet another sonogram. I refused the transvaginal sonogram and had to ask them to turn off the monitor for the patient so I didn't have to see my dead baby. 10 days after the first sonogram I finally had my D&C. It was followed by 7 days of the worst pain of my life plus a lot of bleeding. Calls made to the office were returned by the nurse who kept telling me this was normal. At my post op appointment I was told that everything was normal. No follow up sonogram or bloodwork was done. I continued to bleed for 6 weeks and I finally went to my old dr who believes THE FETUS HAD NOT BEEN REMOVED DURING THE PROCEDURE AND I SPENT WEEKS IN PAIN AND BLEEDING BECAUSE I WAS MISCARRYING ON MY OWN!!! I am now 7 weeks post op and on the road to recovery due to the dr I should have seen all along. If you are a person at all concerned about your health I would not go to this practice!! They seem to only care about money not patients. read more

Ladies...please read my update. After 2 years of trying for a second child with a lot of bumps along the way, I look back at my awful time spent at Suffolk OB and need to say again....RUN! As my 1st review stated, I left this practice 7+ months pregnant. I couldn't take how bad they treated me. I moved to women's health professionals in Smithtown by St. Catherine Hospital. Guess what? They actually care! No abrasive attitudes, rude Doctors/employees, 45+ minute waiting times! Only true caring professionals who know your name and care about you as a person. I had to update this review again to try and help prevent others from going through the unpleasant and almost abusive "care" this practice is guaranteed to offer. Though the road has been rough, I'm thrilled to say I'm pregnant with blessing #2 and along the way my hand was held by the most compassionate staff. A world of difference. Trust me. read more

If I could give it zero stars I would. Avoid this factory at all costs! I was diagnosed with an ectopic pregnancy by a nurse...not even a doctor! She was very matter of fact...just like ok this is what it is...no sympathy...no caring...when I saw Dr. Bernal....the worst Dr I have ever been to in my entire life she had the same callous attitude...even telling me "it's very simple for us" when I was upset and crying. She was not thorough at all....she NEVER checked on me after I received the methotrexate which didn't work and I needed to go back to the er and get a second dose. Never not one time! Her nurse always called but ONLY after I called them. The woman doing the sonogram didn't even know why I was there...when a woman is told she has to take something to kill her baby and you tell her it's a fetus that's disgusting. The front desk people are just as bad...when I came by to pick up the lab authorization forms which I need to have done weekly to make sure the shot was working they had no clue. Nobody had a clue...nobody was sympathetic...absolutely no empathy at all. Disgusting...horrible place. My regular gyn told me it's a factory and would never recommend anyone go there after I told him that's who I was using when I found out I was pregnant. read more
