I took the PMP Bootcamp with Joe Snyder on 16-19 December and I can't say enough good things! Joe took his time to teach the materials in a way that we not only retained the information but we understood it. I went home excited each day and couldn't wait to go back and learn more the next day! I took my PMP exam this morning (yes just a week after the bootcamp) and I passed with a majority of my areas being scored "above target"! Joe took the time to give me a shorter plan with the key details for studying. My life revolved around studying for a couple weeks and I put in a lot of work... but I am greatful for the guidance I was given. I know without a doubt I would not have passed without Joe and PMA! I took an online (not virtual) bootcamp earlier this year and I did not retain any of the information. You get what you pay for. I took the PMP Bootcamp Class in March 2019. Let me start out by saying there may be one misconception for people about this bootcamp -- this isn't a class to teach you how to be a project manager, this is a class to teach you how to prepare for the PMP exam! With that being said, this class was great. Despite the nature of the material, the instructor kept you engaged and made sure to explain things [and repeat things over and over] in a way that you remember it! The PMP exam is a hard test to feel prepared for, but this bootcamp got me as close as prepared as I could be! The materials that come along with signing up for the bootcamp class are also incredibly helpful with studying. I can't tell you how many Q&A sessions I did just to improve my knowledge on certain areas. This class is very high intensive, but needed for this exam. Joe is amazing! He is very knowledgeable and takes the time with each of the students to point out important material and make sure they are grasping it. He's willing to stay late or work through breaks as required to make sure you are prepared or help you better understand areas you're struggling in. He tailored my "assignments" every night knowing that my test was one week from the start date of the course and I passed! It's very obvious how much he cares about his students and their success. I passed the PMP exam on the first try, thanks to excellent test prep with Francis Mies for my in-person training and then all the supplemental test prep materials available through Project Management Academy. Francis made sure what to focus on and offered many helpful suggestions that I could easily recall during the exam. My word of advice to others is use ALL of the resources PMA offers. I bought flashcards online from a different testing organization and the flashcards were not helpful as they didn't list all the ITTOs that PMA indicated were necessary to know. I recently attended the PMP boot camp instructed by Karl Cheney in Richmond, VA. Karl is a very motivating instructor and extremely helpful in illustrating the PMBOK principles using examples that continue to build through the entire course. This is the first training course that I never 'dosed off' or became distracted. That can be attributed to Karl's method of teaching and his extreme enthusiasm for Project Management. The four day course, instructed by Francis Miles, was comprehensive and provided the materials necessary to focus on key points needed to help pass the PMP Exam. I particularly liked the emphasis placed on the areas that are highly critical to help pass the exam. Thankfully I passed the PMP Exam on the first take.
