BOOK PK you won't regret it one bit! My husband and I originally reached out to PK at the beginning of 2020 for our wedding that was planned for Sept 2020, then COVID happened. Even throughout that whole "hold" process, PK didn't forget about us and made sure to pencil us in for our NEW wedding date for 2021. We also gave him a song that we had edited a week prior that we wanted played during our ceremony and that was not a problem for them at all. Just got married this past weekend and Prokreation Productions was one of our vendors. I am SO glad that they were a part of our special day. They are such nice, funny, professional people and they genuinely care about your big day!! You can tell PK is a natural performer, he is able to easily "go with the flow". First, after booking Prokreation Productions, we met with him to go over the details. For example, I know for sure we wanted to play some games to keep the reception fun. PK had a TON of suggestions and ideas and just talking about them pumped us up. We also went through what we had wanted for our first dance (my husband - wow that feels weird- had a specific transition in mind) and he was more than happy to work through it with us. My husband also had a specific song in mind for the mothers entrance, one that you can only find on YouTube, and PK said it was not a problem! He's such a fun guy, the meeting itself didn't seem like a MEETING. We used Prokreation for my ceremony and reception (outdoor ceremony and indoor reception). They came early to setup and worked with my coordinator. Sound was great and all the cues were on point. I think an MC is really important to have, and he/she BETTER be GOOD. Whatever event you're having, the guests need to know what's going on and be entertained for them to have a memorable time. You don't want people looking onto the stage and wondering what is going on. Having an MC really helps with the flow and tone of your event. I say "EVENT" instead of "WEDDING" because I have been to SO many events where they needed a good MC. Anyway, onto the reception!! PK is an AWESOME MC as Jacob is an AWESOME DJ. There was never a dull moment during our wedding. We had many first generation church-going Koreans attending and I was worried that they wouldn't have as much fun as some of our younger guests, but PK catered to them just as much. He managed to pump up the entire room and it set the tone of our reception from beginning to end. Everyone was laughing and having a good time. The games were a hit and got the whole room involved. It really is a good feeling to have your guests feel like they're part of the wedding...isn't that why people traditionally do the garter/bouquet toss? We had a photo booth station, and if it wasn't for PK working the timeline with my coordinator, I would've been there all night and probably upset my guests. My guests were informed of everything that was happening - first dance, mother son dance, greeting of the tables, cake cutting, etc... Jacob was an awesome DJ and they have pretty much EVERY song you can think of. Towards the end of the night, my guests wanted to hear some old school Korean pop songs and Jacob pulled them up with no hesitation. (we're talking H.O.T., DJ DOC, etc.). The song transitions were also very smoooooooooth. All in all, I would definitely recommend Prokreation Productions for ANY event you're having. I stumble across PK's when I was looking for a MC for my wedding and we didn't want the typical bilingual Chinese and English MC, because I think that's pretty played out tbh. WOW!!!!! I mean, we knew PK would be amazing, but that was more than what we expected! PK MADE OUR WEDDING DAY BEAUTIFUL. The surprise game and hilarious things he said made the wedding so much better. Our wedding was this past weekend and it was a blast! PK was recommended to us by someone who had previously been to a wedding where he was the MC. The one thing we wanted most for our wedding was for our guests to have fun, so PK seemed like the perfect decision! We had a reserved Asian crowd, but PK hyped up the room with his hilarious games and energy! My guests were laughing so hard that even my pastor officiant told me he's never laughed this hard at a wedding before. He made a customized poem/song for us and kept the energy going throughout our reception. He was wonderful. At one point, we ran out of gift card rewards for our guests and PK was gracious enough to just pull out his own cash to cover us (we covered him back afterwards!). After our wedding, our parents & their friends congratulated us on planning a great wedding. Our parents and their friends have been to their fair share of weddings, but they raved about how well planned and coordinated our wedding was, especially our DJ & Emcee. Our guests loved Phil as our emcee and thought he was our friend because he was so personal with his comments & emcee-ing. We had a phone call discussing likes, dislikes, expectations, etc before we booked their services. 4.5 stars rounded up. This is way overdue, but still worth writing. I learned about Prokreation through a recommendation and decided to contact PK for my wedding back in May 2014. Immediately, I was able to tell that PK has a strong sense of customer service and ensures his clients are properly taken care of. During the months before our wedding, we experienced a hiccup with one of his DJs and after trying to resolve the issue directly with the DJ, I raised my concerns with PK. He was extremely professional about the situation and corrected it immediately (side note: his DJs don't make custom first dance songs unless they changed that since my wedding, so ask first). This is what impressed me the most. I understand that problems will arise during wedding planning, but it's how your vendors respond to those problems that make the difference and PK was quick and accommodating. On the day of, he showed up early, made sure all his equipment was set up and working. He brought additional people to help just to make sure that nothing went wrong after what happened with the DJ. The rest of the night really flew by (alcohol hit me at the beginning of the reception, lol), but I can tell you that my guests told me the next day how much fun they had and I can only attribute that to the entertainment that PK provided. The half star off is for a Korean rap/rhyme thing he did in the beginning and I remembered hearing the same thing at my cousin's wedding years ago (10?). I was hugely impressed because it was a grand wedding reception venue at the beverly wilshire hotel yet PK was somehow able to make the occasion seem much more like the intimate weddings I usually prefer. He was so funny, but appropriately so. His music choices were phenomenal as well. My friend was extremely satisfied as everybody was saying that was the most fun they ever had at a wedding. The older people were equally impressed. Even my dad had a few drinks, and he never drinks. I think PK created a very happy and festive atmosphere which helped bring down the infamous and impervious Korean wall of inhibition. These inhibitions usually make Korean weddings very dull. Not this wedding though. I have NEVER seen the older people dancing at a Korean wedding. It was like I had entered the twilight zone or some bizzaro world. It was awesome to see. Unfortunately, we chose someone else for our wedding. But, we were lucky enough to enlist PK's services for our twin baby's 1 year old birthday party. This is a big deal with Koreans. I'm not a cheap person, but i wanted to keep a reasonable budget. Pk's services were very much on the affordable end of the spectrum compared to similar companys. So, seeing his awesome work before and his extremely affordable pricing, it was a no brainer. Our baby's birthday party was an outdoor event. We knew having it outside would provide unique obstacles, but knowing that PK has hosted humongous outdoor events, I knew he'd be up to the task. He definitely was. We couldn't be happier with his service. We were also going to provide our own catering, but PKs suggestions ended up so much better. I told him ahead of time to use no holds barred comedy because I didn't care what the older adults thought. lol. So he did, but I can tell he held back some; hey, he's Korean. We Koreans are crazy afraid of older adults. If the older adults weren't Korean, I'm sure he would not have held back at all since we gave him the green light. All of our friends had a blast. I know kid's birthday parties aren't supposed to be fun for the adults. But I made the executive decision to have an open bar and a kick butt wedding mc. Zero regrets. Pk and his team were true pros with good taste. I asked PK to select all the music for the ceremony and reception. And, I received many compliments about the music that day. Not to mention, the DJ had my whole party dancing all night. The flow of the wedding was seamless with PK's MC skills. He knew how to get the crowd engaged, he brought the right games, and he was seriously entertaining. When my wife and I were planning our wedding, for whatever reason, she kept shooting down my ideas. The casual BBQ wedding was a no. The pirate-themed wedding -- where all your guests can be stumbling drunk and they don't have be embarrassed because they're in character -- didn't even merit a response. And, the costume wedding, where our guests wouldn't even have to change after Halloween the night before, earned an athletic eye-roll and a heavy sigh. No biggie. All I wanted was to throw a kick-ass party for my guests. And, the easiest way you can throw one is to have a great MC and DJ. Let's be honest. You've gone to plenty of weddings where you were bored out of your mind. You know those weddings where nobody dances, the MC stumbles through corny joke after corny joke, and all the guests look like they're looking for an excuse to leave. Our wedding was the opposite of that. There was never a dull moment. We didn't have a reception coordinator, but PK expertly kept every part of our reception smoothly transitioning into the next while entertaining our guests. DJ Jacob seamlessly integrated some extra songs in the same style when parts of the ceremony got delayed and my selected song list ran short. During the reception, he kept pumping out song after song that made sure the seats stayed empty until our venue finally kicked us out. It's been 4 months since the wedding and friends are still talking about how much fun they had at the wedding. Nobody remembers what the wedding invites or flowers look like, yet people spend so much time agonizing over them. I don't even remember our own. I know my review is SUPERRRR late... but I was looking through my wedding pictures recently and remembered how awesome PK was at my wedding! He was so good I referred 3 of my wedding guests because they all LOVED him and wanted to hire them for their weddings. I saw PK perform a couple of times at Laugh factory but never at a wedding and he blew my exceptions out of the water. I only heard great things from my friends since they were close to him through Kollaboration. My husband and I went with the Platinum package which also included Ceremony music/sound and he was worth every dollar. PK and his team came dressed exactly as I wanted: Clean and classic. He was very easy to work with and was a BIG HIT for my guests. He was hilarious and kept my crowd ENGAGED. All his music selection was perfect and accommodated all my suggestions as well. Even the Older Korean Generation parents loved him! AND THATS HUGEEEEEE for the Koreans!! The music did not stop until the last person was dancing. PK made our 3/14/15 wedding reception the best party we could ever throw! I was familiar with PK's work as a comedian, conference speaker, MC; he was/is consistently the funniest (and nicest!) guy in every room. Throughout the planning process, he was very patient and understanding with my erratic email responses. Even though I sent my music requests and detailed info a little late, nothing was left out at the reception. Whether he is a friend or stranger, PK treats everyone really well. I was pleasantly surprised at the creative games and excitement he brought to our crowd, and definitely was not expecting the older, conservative family members and guests to participate. I didn't think that anyone could cater to all ages at this 300-person event, however, all eyes were on PK and every table jumped at any chance they could win prizes! The DJ was also great and played all of my requested songs/music genres with a good flow and transitions (lots of Beyoncé and Maroon 5). All night, and even today, I still have our guests asking for details about PK and his availability for their upcoming weddings. PK was the MC at our wedding, and I must say, he did such an amazing job bringing the hype and keeping the positive vibes all throughout the entire evening. We all know that asians are shy and are often too timid to dance, but PK has a magical ability and aura that made every single person in the wedding get up on their feet and dance the night away.
