JD did an amazing job at our wedding this weekend. There had been rain showers randomly happening throughout the day and evening, but he was always flexible enough to change of plans from moving outdoor to indoor to back to outdoor at the very last moment. His pricing was fair and appropriate based on a few other DJ/MCs. He provided all of the necessary equipment (mixers, wireless microphones, 1 speaker setup for our ceremony and a 2nd speaker setup for the reception), plus the setup and breakdown. He also had backup equipment (such as wired microphones) if anything unexpected happened. JD provided us with a detailed breakdown sheet for our wedding which made it very easy to go down the list of different events/transition throughout the wedding and what songs/playlists to us during each time. Even in the cases where we didn't exactly know which songs we wanted to play, he was able to figure out our particular mood that we were trying to set and adjusted the playlists accordingly. He also did an outstanding job of keeping the guests entertained and active throughout the wedding. I've been to 2 other weddings where he worked the crowd and both brides highly recommended him based on his talent, professionalism, and fun & charming personality. Initial meeting: From the very beginning, I liked that JD was extremely proactive on following up on our discussions. On our first meeting, he was very professional--he came prepared with a checklist and took meticulously detailed notes on our vision for our wedding. Furthermore, he put in effort to get a good sense of the dynamic between my fiance and I so he could reflect that during our wedding. During event planning: During the planning process, he was very responsive, scheduled conference calls to make sure we are on the same page, and was transparent on his needs. He also scoped out the location before the wedding to ensure he's 100% set for the day-of. At the event: On our wedding day, he came early and set up on time without a hitch. He worked the crowd using the list of songs we provided as well as some crowd-pleasers of his own. He even got a line dance going at one point. He also did an excellent job hosting the newlywed games, etc. The crowd danced all night and JD concluded the wedding reception with "Don't Stop Believing", to which everyone sang along happily. However, the guests wanted to keep going! They actually boo'ed when they were told the wedding is over. I've actually never been to a wedding where the crowd did not want to leave after the last song. So we had to extend the wedding a little longer. Now, that's a GREAT party. Feedback: Still to this day, people still tell me they never had so much fun at a wedding. Mind you, my wedding had flavorful gourmet food (none of that bland wedding hall food, yuck), gorgeous flowers, and amazing décor, but in the end, all our guests remember is dancing the night away and having a blast! J.D. was recommended to us by a friend who is a DJ (and was unavailable for our event) and am I ever happy I made that call! He immediately 'got it' that we were doing something a little different for our wedding. Invites were sent for a 50th birthday celebration. In reality, after the cocktail hour, we were exchanging our vows! I hired J.D. from Shall We Dance Entertainment for his DJ services at my 8 year old daughter's birthday party this past weekend. I had seen J.D. in action before at another party and instantly knew he was a safe bet. Let's just say that the kids are still talking about my daughter's "awesome" birthday party and it was all thanks to J.D! Right from the beginning, J.D. was tight with the communication. We had a destination wedding in Yosemite September 2016. JD came through early and coordinated with the hotel staff for a superb experience.
