1= for Billing & system- which de facto falls on provider, as it's been mentioned to Provider- not that it's their Specialty, but they should also know it speaks to them as part of Co and the MD's run the Co. I will use the term Company b/c that's all they become/ I use the term Consumer or Number, b/c that's all we become. Calling: As a baseline you wait 30-45min, when it get's down to- 'you are next in line'- it automatically goes to message. Repeat this experience Ad nauseam if you are naive enough to try again, or again & in my case the yielded 90min lost. Repeat the minus 90 x 3. You would think they would be smarter, as they are paid by Pt experience- the wait message is so painful that you must put on mute, mind you, during the process of you waiting for, for well nothing but- incessant, redundant notices x1 per 5sec with high pitched, generic sounds (or was that supposed to be music) are painful. Scheduling: Chronic texts reminding you to check in- not needed (actually Staff has told me to 'just avoid system'), but in doing so and no matter how many repeat visits you are going to- system asks you the same history that has been documented each time and gets you into more redundancy. I like my PT man, RN's are cool & Surgeon I am choosing to like, but time will tell. A follow up & latent thought- I did get through last week in minutes. I had to confirm an appt, as I deleted the text service per Staff advice D/t redundant intake questions each time, and for the fact reminder texts are incessant. May have been same lady or another, but the same formal, semi-curt tone, almost belated teacher-like and when I said, 'nice, surprised to get you' = dead silence, HOW CAN I HELP YOU? She read through the list of who I saw last week (tool behavior, or rather the teacher reminding the wayward pupil thing- but why of the past?). The other time I got through [batting 2/8 here], as well as this one- in both cases I was left feeling temporarily stupid, wrong or awkward- let alone any relation on the other end Re Patient "experience". Apropos, as during these waits (for which being the main point- nowhere in the 30+ min wait, is there any mention- you are going to voicemail anyway)- and at 5 second intervals, they ask if you would like to 'leave input 'so to better help the Patient Experience' Yeah, I did mention to MD's and other Staff as it secondarily undermines them. her Staff. If you're looking for an orthopedic clinic that actually respects patients, avoid Orthopedic Specialists of Seattle / Proliance Surgeons (Wallingford). I came here for a second ACL tear and had two truly shocking experiences: 1. Front desk physically blocked my care. After completing all paperwork, having my ID scanned, and offering to self-pay and be billed later, the front desk supervisor literally got up and stopped the medical assistant from taking me back to see the doctor. This was not a billing issue; it was non-clinical staff inserting themselves between a patient and medically necessary care. 2. They sent me to the wrong place for my CT. The clinic told me they "don't refer anyone" and instructed me to schedule a CT at Rayus Radiology. Days later, another staff member called, apologized, and admitted there had already been a CT order sitting in my chart for Swedish Medical Center. Their own team had to fix the mess. This is not just minor rudeness. It is disorganized, unsafe operations that delay care for serious injuries. If you experience anything similar here, do not stay silent. Really love the staff at Proliance Surgeons. Had surgery for my high school daughter's full ACL rupture last year and then rotator cuff surgery for my husband this year. Dr. Komenda and Dr. Tyler Nathe are phenomenal! Biggest con of this practice, the billing office....one day when they get their billing office straight the practice as a whole will be top notch. Be ready to be confused, to call numbers on the bill and have no one understand what you owe. You will pay before the surgery and they split your payment between the surgery center and doctors and the right doesn't speak to the left even though you made one payment. I was a long time patient Of multiple specialist within this group up until about three years ago. Recently, I've had a severe pain and decided I need to see a new specialist within the group. Made An appointment. Today I went for that appointment. I was very surprised by a new form. They required to be signed before seeing a provider. I read everything before I sign it. Turns out this form requires the patient's signature prior to treatment. The patient is agreeing to any provider performing any procedure at any time with no end date. I'm not familiar with needing to sign a form like this unless I'm having surgery or a procedure as an in or outpatient in hospital. I'm not accustomed to giving carte blanche to a group of providers for any procedure at any time with no end and date. Even if I change my appointment to evaluation only or second opinion, only, I wouldn't be seen. So, I left without being seen. I'm aware most people sign whatever is put in front of them Without reading it or possibly understanding it. I'm not that type. The surgeon saw me once, announced it was probably X, sent me for a bunch of expensive tests to confirm, and when the problem didn't turn out to be what he predicted he lost all interest in treating me at all. He was dismissive and rude and offered no alternative ideas or treatments and wouldn't even refer me to physical therapy. All his did was suggest I pay even more out-of-pocket for an unproven snake-oil treatment he just happened to offer. I was referred to proliance by my parents, as they had good experiences with a knee doctor there. I got an initial appointment after some brutal hold times. At that meeting it was decided I needed an MRI and would need to schedule with them, they gave me a business card to call and said it would be a day or two. No one reached out to me for a week, so I started calling. After a week and a half and 4 voicemails with no response, I finally called the front desk begging to be connected to someone, at which point they put me through directly through to the scheduling team who booked something a week out. It took a month and half of being in excruciating pain and no responses to even get a diagnosis. The care afterwards was dismissive, as the injury had already had two months to slowly recover instead of getting any treatment. Go anywhere else, regardless of the wait times. It's not worth it unless your are a legacy patient here. There was one operator throughout the entire process that was helpful, which is why this isn't a one star review. read more

I attempted to schedule an appointment with them and they were nice about it at first and then they found out that the consult was going to be related to an auto accident and then it was going to be paid through my auto insurance and they got all cold. And then when they heard that I was consulting with a lawyer they said no proliance surgeon would see anyone that was consulting with a lawyer, as if I was going to sue them or something, which is ridiculous. ### Review of Pro Alliance Surgeons in Seattle, Washington My experience with Pro Alliance Surgeons has been absolutely appalling. The office staff is incompetent, and the customer service is abysmal. Every time I called, I had to wait a minimum of 20-45 minutes just to speak with someone, whether it was to schedule an appointment, ask for records, or anything else. It didn't matter what day or time I called; the wait was always excessive. Other patients have echoed the same frustrations. This place is impossible to deal with. You can never get a scheduler on the phone, and their corporate policy on patient treatment is atrocious. I specifically requested my records be sent through the portal twice and even spoke with Christina to ensure they were sent to other providers. They promised they would send them, but they never did. To make matters worse, I had my records sent from an out-of-state surgeon via FedEx with a tracking number addressed to Christina, the office manager. Pro Alliance Surgeons in Seattle received the package and even signed for it by M. Daniels. Then the records got lost and were never uploaded to my chart. I ended up having to get the records sent to me personally and hand-deliver them. This place is essentially a cost-cutting, profit-driven nightmare. They are understaffed, unprofessional, and their primary concern seems to be nickel-and-diming patients rather than providing quality care. After constant battles with them, being put on hold, and not having my records forwarded, I decided to cancel my surgery and flew to Colorado to the Steadman Clinic. The Steadman Clinic is top-notch, responsive, and genuinely cares about their patients. After reading numerous negative reviews, I completely agree with everyone's complaints. The staff is rude, understaffed, and unprofessional. I did some research and discovered that the office manager was a bartender for 20 years before taking over the Ballard office. What experience does a bartender have in running a medical office? If they can only hire bartenders and not medical professionals, it speaks volumes about the type of organization they are. Clearly, other medical professionals do not want to be a part of this organization. In conclusion, I do not recommend Pro Alliance Surgeons to anyone. Stay away from them. Instead, consider the Steadman Clinic in Colorado for first-class service and care. read more

I wish I'd read these reviews before I made the choice to use Proliance. I liked my docs, but the support system is horribly broken. 50 minutes on hold just to make an appointment? No response from their insurance person after three emails and a call, then to be saddled with a 900 dollar out-of-pocket bill when I checked in. The front desk people were brusk and not very kind, never even looking up from their computers as they rattled off all their questions. Every nurse I talked to told me something different in regards to after-care. The "after-care" info sheet consisted of general info for ALL procedures. Sitting in a cold little room with an IV in my arm for 90 minutes because they were behind schedule. I'm fairly forgiving about circumstances, but no one even bothered to pop in and let me know what was happening. The nurse who put the IV in my arm disappeared after that and I never saw her again. I was just sitting in there, freezing, in my little gown. Strange. Showed up at 2:00 for a 2:15 appointment. Got home at 6:30 pm. I was told the procedure would be a simple, thirty-minute thing. I was also told, twice, by the woman who checked me in that Proliance was owned by the doctors. For some reason, it was important that I know that fact. But, now, it makes complete sense. read more

The office experience is absolutely appalling. A minimum 20 minute wait to speak to someone. It seems it doesn't matter what day or time you call. Proliance in Renton is terrible. The doctor may be good, but their administrative process to get to the recommended surgery is slow and cumbersome and their phone communication simply does not work. Was quoted 23 callers ahead of me this morning when I simply needed to cancel a pre-surgery appointment to interview me for my general health history and status, all of which I gave at my appointment with the doctor when he x-rayed and evaluated the need for surgery. They were able to call me, but the number they used that I called back on also has delays, and they had the day of surgery wrong by 2 months after a representative called me to "discuss" the upcoming surgery. All in all, they are either incompetent or they are playing the money-making scheme to get billable hours to charge my insurance and medicare. I cannot recommend anyone to go to this organization! Their doctors may be good, but I never got there, but their organization makes me question their whole operation. I cannot recommend anyone going to their Renton location. read more

I'm a bit lost on these reviews, and to be honest I think this needs a new perspective because it doesn't match my experience. I went to this place for a year for knee surgery 2023-2024. First, they have the best surgeon in the surrounding states, by a margin. Second, i could call any day and get someone any time. I've done it for a year. And the first call was easy. I had met with 12 surgeons and done an insane amount of research. I could practically perform knee surgery by the time i had mine, it was an obsession. I vetted this place with every fiber of my being and my doctor. Dr Grant Garcia, who is unparallel. I contacted my surgeon 6 times before my first surgery and then the second one which was bigger i was petering them about blood clots calling them like crazy because I was terrified; their patience is beyond Steller and they are totally responsive. He actually joked about it. He didn't charge me for these calls either by the way. He called me personally the day before the 4th of July last year to reassure me. They send you a packet, they walk you though everything. He responds to me with any question pretty much immediately though email. Scheduling was trivial. I'm at the desk. There is someone stilling there I make an appointment. I did this for a year. It wasn't hard. Heck the first time i met the dr, all i did to make an appointment was a week or two get my mri records show up there have a 30-minute convo to discuss my case, bob is your uncle. We called them all the time over the course of the year. I mean just send a message or something they are totally responsive. Most of the surgeons have a team you can always ping them. In fact i think they were round robining pa on me because i was such a pain in the ass the first three months. I'm not even going to get into how this is the best orthopedic center in Washington. I'm 100% positive about that. I did a full year of research. I know of and have context a good percentage of the doctors that do orthopedic this is your best option. I would say if you don't have a lot of experience with this stuff, they are busy people. They basically have to do a ton of training run the practice, get patience surgery, support existing patience, it's crazy. They way this works is they usually have a medical team of people they work with Pa's and nurses things like this (the pa is the big part of it) for the surgery. Then they have like a personal assitant or office manager, and then there is the regular office manager. The first day i schedule my surgery with him (I think it was the day i met him i had never had surgery). This lady was filling in for his scheduler and she was confused, she said we'll ping you back and set up a time. The doctor was across the building (i think he's superhuman heard the conversation somehow and personally assisted). They usually use PAs and surgery coordinators for some of the more handsy stuff. But it makes total sense. I've been to both the Wallingford place and the Ballard one they are solid. Surgery is good. they save a ton of money by not using hospitals which is why they can keep costs reasonable and provide the most cutting-edge treatments. The metrics are solid. Little apple sauce at the end and your out Actually, even billing, you know it's always a little tricky with this stuff right, the insurance company was trying to push back. The doctor told me personally don't worry about it he has someone that can help coordinate just worry about my health. There was another case where there was some confusion they didn't make a big deal out of it. It was fine. I didn't have any bad experience with them. I would think after the extensive time I spent with them i would have if it was bad. I 'm telling you i wish i could find a normal doctor for physicals and stuff that was as good as this place i'd switch immediately. It took me a while to sort of reset my expectations about what to expect from a surgeon. I would recommend anyone doing this to find a good pt person, that's suppurative or a good match for you. It's also not bad to mentally prepare and see a phycologist and and prepare your hours. Dr. will have a hard time totally holding hand though everything. But i will say even post-surgery where they already made there money on me. Nothing changed he kept people helping me along the way even though i was hard for the first month. i had such a good experience I feel a huge sense of gratitude to this place. Now the biggest thing in all of this is the technical skill of at least Dr. Grant Garcia. He can do every approved treatment for cartilage, and he delivers, very complex stuff. And he personally runs a tight ship he knows every one of his patience in detail. You can tell he knows what his team is doing. This is an update to a previous review. Proliance never did give me credit for making a payment, so on what should have been a final automatic withdrawal on their part, we were overcharged. So, naturally, we called to get the situation resolved, and were assured that on the next billing cycle, we would get a refund. That has not happened. So, again, we have called and their response is they're not sure how to give a refund. I'm like in disbelief! And full of ideas for these people. 1) Cut us a check, 2) credit my bank card that you've been using to withdraw money, and 3) stop forcing people into auto withdrawals when you can't even keep track of how much money you're taking from people. They didn't explain the policy clearly to their customers and charged the patients a year later..They dragged their patients into 1-2 year long of communications, calls& emails back and force. They have the best doctors and sports physicians in the country here, and the best orthopedic surgeons. You can completely disregard the 2011 review, as it has no basis in fact. Accepts most insurance. I had two hip replacements that went flawlessly, so I know. Highly recommended for any orthopedic problems. I found them through an Internet search, because I wanted the best doctor (surgeon), and Dr. Downer did a fantastic job of keeping me off disability. Billing is a breeze, and they bill your insurance. Awesome. Without these great physicians, I would be in a wheel chair. Seriously. DDH is no fun. Google it if you don't believe me. They also do shoulders, elbows, knees--all the joints. Each doctor at Proliance (OSS) is a specialist. I waited 20 minutes to get into my appointment. Once I got there, they looked at my ankle for five minutes and gave me a boot. They charged me $427 just for the boot! When their direct retailer charges them 150. The overall experience just to get my sprained ankle looked at cost me 500 after insurance and the billing department was rude on the phone when I asked about it. I made at least four phone attempts to reach Dr. Reed or schedule an appointment for a second opinion for my son's foot fracture. We had his prior doctor send his medical records. Without speaking to me once or calling me back, Dr. Reed determined he "could not add to" my son's care. No discussion. No appointment. No call back from his office. I waited for over a week and heard nothing. I finally decided to call again and discovered conclusory decision. I get that they're busy, but for Pete's sake. Call people back. Or offer to see them and examine a patient before concluding you can't do anything. Leaving parents in the lurch like that is irresponsible and unprofessional. I had a knee replacement 9 weeks ago. I will say the surgery center, and staff are fantastic. The Dr was a great surgeon, but that is where it stops for me. I have been in pain, and have not gotten a good nights sleep since the operation. At 6 weeks DR took xrays, and was happy with everything they did. I felt at that point they were done with me. I explained I am still hurting, and am unable to sleep. The conversation with the DR was eventually it will go away. It seems that because they did a surgery if I was in pain, or couldn't sleep there was no empathy for me. I am still in physical therapy, and doing everything I can to be well, I did expect to be out of pain by now. read more

We've had to take our daughter here on several occasions and they've always been friendly, helpful, professional and help make her experience and her parents' experience as pleasant as possible. I have felt they have always taken excellent care of my daughter whether it was for an MRI, her few knee surgeries or in taking care of her pre- or post-op. I got to visit this center for the pain that was causing discomfort for some time. Got an appointment with one Doc and as I figured he suggested for MRI. Now its beens 3 weeks and no response from Doc or MA. I called MA 5 times and no response from them. Voice mails got unanswered. Later when I insisted to the operator, they told me that Doc is not free for next 2 months. Now why one should take a new patient appointment if the doc is not going to be available for next 2 months? Why MA doesn't reply to any calls? I don't know what sort of professionalism to call this. Very bad experience so far. If this is what happens with any specialist doc then probably the system itself has to be changed if not then Proliance might have to increase their professional standards. read more

This review is in regards to the billing office here. The last phone call I had with the billing office was enough to make me never come back. I had two ACL surgeries just a year apart. The first go around everyone was very helpful in the billing process because at the time I was a college student and didn't have a job. Now this second time around was a complete disaster. I had surgery in March, and quickly began contacting the billing office way back in the summer months... I'd say July-ish. Jerry, the lady in billing, never answered her phone so I would always have to leave a message. But the thing is, she would never return my messages. I probably made a call once a month at least, trying to see if I would receive any assistance and/or when I could start making payments. Finally now in January of the next year I receive a call back from her saying I was supposed to start making payments way back in October. Which was news to me because no one had contacted me, not once. I call her back this week, she answers and is very rude and sharp with me. Saying she spoke to me several times over the phone and now I have service fees on my account. I begin to tell her what happened on my end, and she starts cutting me off and talking over the top of me so I say, "Excuse me, I'm not done speaking, can you please not talk over the top of me?" to which she responds, "I'm hanging up, goodbye." And hangs up on me. I was just appalled! Such unprofessional behavior and once I get this bill paid off I will never return to this facility. read more

I went to see Michael Watt at this office, as well as his office in Ballard. Let me tell you, he is the BEST! I had wrist surgery @ Ballard Swedish Hospital, and knee surgery in his Wallingford surgical suite. He is very meticulous, thorough, on time, and does a fantastic job. He will not hesitate to refer you to one of his co-workers if they are more specialized in your specific body area needing attention. A-1!!! read more
